Nah you’ve been found out and thoroughly debunked.
If you've seen any of my threads I have ever made on this forum, and conclude I actually care about the content more than my own personal musings and entertainment, you're wrong!

Also - the gamepass service isn't just about the games - that point was serious.

Last night for instance, the other half wanted to try some portia game. While she was playing on the Xbox, I was able to continue my Gears 5 save on PC. Dead simple. I've bought just one game since getting a Series X last November.

But you keep using anecdotal points and presenting them as fact.

Nobody is saying that Gamepass has no merits or value, only that it's existence hasn't made it a system seller that draws people to the MS console platform.

You used time spent playing a particular game to try and prove people only want multiplayer. When sales data tells you that people want a variety of games and place great weight on exclusives, not because they are exclusive, but because they offer some of the best experiences. The Nintendo business model is basically based on its exclusive lineup, so much so that in terms of hardware they are fine being leaps behind.

I have had every Sony console and a few xbox's down the years. I removed buying a 360 to play Gears and Halo (exclusives), however today they have fallen so far behind in this area I simply have no reason to look at Xbox. That may change in the future but right now the market shows that in its current state, Xbox is very much the runt of the litter in terms of appeal.

That's your opinion?

And Xbox?

What, games from Xbox studios that have a XSX version and aren't on Playstation?

Ori and the Will of the Wisps - 92
Forza Horizon 4 - 92
Halo MCC - 88
Wasteland 3 - 85
Gears 4 - 84
Gears Tactics - 82

In the next few weeks you can add Flight Simulator - 92 aswel.

According to Lambo the best of them all is Sea of Thieves but the metacritic for that is 69 so...

We’re talking about exclusives and none of those are exclusive to Xbox.

Yeah, because you know I don't go off what salty little kids think and moan about. I have my own tastes and likes.

And if you bothered to read those bad reviews, you'd see the same issues from last year and before, mostly console kids moaning about crossplay, tucking and even double gunning. They wanted the game dumbed and made soley PvE just to suit them. Go figure.

Edit: Just had a quick look and that critic score, check the date of those reviews and what the lower ones say. Do you honestly think as an ongoing title it would be reviewed the same way now, even remotely? 3 years worth of improvements and content later?

Wasteland 3 is on PS4. Pretty sure it was in development before MS acquired that Studio.

Also it's a really cool game, people should play it.

Most games that come out aren't exclusives and the Xbox is simply a better gaming device in my opinion.

Yeah but we've already established that exclusives are very important, even if they don't make up a big percentage of overall games made, they do make up a very big percentage of the best games and best selling games made. I agree that the Series X looks to be the better gaming machine (although it lacks dualsense which I do think is a killer feature of the PS5) but that's just not enough for a lot of people. Still, if I had both consoles I'd probably end up playing most non exclusives on the Series X as in general they do seem to run better on it and quick resume looks amazing, but it's pointless for me to get both as I have a PC, and that is where the exclusives come into it big time.

Also I do think it helps Sony that the PS4 completely slaughtered the XBONE last gen, they obviously got a massive player base out of that that don't want to leave their mates on PSN and all backwards compatible PS4 games.

Sums it up well.

I could take or leave dual sense tbh, its great in astro and Returnal but sometimes it you just get shit sounds coming out of a birthday card speaker that really take you out of the game. I don't like it in demons souls and hate it in wreckfest.

The whole pc/xbox argument is pointless considering MS's strategy with gamepass and crossplay. If you have a PC that is more powerful than an xbox then great and well done on having lots of money but then the Xbox probably isn't for you.

I hear quick resume comes with it's own issues.

It does on some games that require network connections.

PES is a problem because every time you load it back up it presents an error message, which takes a while to get through as it tries to reconnect.

MLB: The Show has the same issue but it brings up the message and then reconnects straight away.

I wouldn't trust it even if it did a proper version (it has switcher or something, but never tried it). I still don't trust putting it into standby thanks to some of the more troublesome bugs.

I don't trust my PS5 to not feck up with one game at a time tbh.

Can't you just switch off the controller speaker if it bothers you that much? I'm pretty sure you can on PS4, haven't got a PS5 yet but I'd expect the same functionality.

It's the triggers on wreckfest as well, which I can also turn off but then I just see a future of mostly disappointing implementations. Not sure I've noticed it on Demon's souls. Apparently it's nothing to write home about on Ratchet and Clank. It's amazing on Astrobot but that's because it's a tech demo for the controller.

It's a great controller but overhyped and the battery life is shocking which means I would probably need 4 controllers if I want to have a long co-op sesh with a mate, whereas with the xbox I just swap the batteries out with the ones I had charging. The main benefit I've found from having 2 dual sense controllers so far is that I can charge one and use the other which shouldn't really need to be a benefit.

This is the dumbest argument though because both consoles are really amazing. I reckon 2022 could be a vintage year for gaming.

Who ever listens to critics? If I want to know if a game is something I'd want to play I'll watch a playthrough and see if the game is something I'd be willing to spend my money on.
