Imagine wanting to get a new console to play new games, what morons!

Yeah I don't get it either. Here I am having played or finished Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, GTA 5, Bloodstained, Call of the Sea, Lost Odyssey, Gardens Between Worlds, MLB: The Show 2k21, Hellblade, PES 2021, The Evil Within, Forza Horizon 4, Forza Motorsport 7, The Medium, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Celeste, FM 2021, Katana Zero, Little Nightmares, Tetris Effect, Dragon Quest VIII, and Ori and the Blind Forest... all for less money than it costs to buy, uh, Returnal?

Maybe I'm the dope

True that does sound more fun than getting Returnal and being scared to play it in case you get a good run and can't use your PS5 for anything else.

I never understand these things. People should be not be interested in playing new games because a huge list of older games are available for less money?

Nice, now imagine being able to do that with AAA games and without having to pay an extra subscription!

And, you know, being able to also play new games.

I've loved my Sony consoles, always have and always will, even with my slightly fragile but beautiful new controllers (that no doubt Sony will sort) and the thought of buying an X Box is a wretch inducing affair but ultimately I will want to play Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6. That, alongside the fact that the sequel to one of may favourite games of recent times, Hellblade, is going to be Microsoft exclusive means I'll have to take the plunge and own two consoles.

Just get a PC, it's like a Series X but you can do other stuff too.

Truly the best and funnest choice.

I retired from PC gaming a while back and have no thirst to get back into it as I can't justify the cost for a good one and space is a massive factor. I live in a tiny cottage and all rooms are taken.
To be fair if I didn't have a decent PC I'd definitely get a Series X... eventually.

Imagine paying £450 to play 20 year old games

COD

Suppose when you have no exclusives it's best to hang your hat on the classics.
I couldn't give a shit about the latest edition of wandering through a forest as an adventurer, that takes 3 days to complete and could be used as a coaster after that point.

Bit harsh on the Ori games tbh, there's more to them than that.

Outriders, It Takes Two, New Pokemon Snap and a bit of FH4 at the moment.

I'm getting It Takes Two soon to play with the missus. I naively wasted my EA Access trial and I could have played it through that.

You played any Xbox exclusives?

Yeah, I've been going through some of the back catalogue stuff that I missed like Ori and GoW (although mainly Hivebusters tbh which is new) as well as replaying Halo MCC with my housemate in co-op occasionally. And FH4 is never far away from a quick race.

I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t want a controller like this.
Failing to see the big deal, some people have duff controllers...it's a minor inconvenience to them while they get another and probably minor adjustments will be made in production. Consoles have always had various issues that get ironed out.

My first PS4 did the old spitting discs out trick. My Xbox hard drive failed completely, before it's time.. It's always going to happen with these mass production items, they're built to cost not quality unfortunately.

Failing to see why you're in this thread frankly pal

Ive got both and have used them an equal amount

Xbox is purely game pass machine, everything else on the PS

I regret nothing

Xbox SX is for third party releases also for me, as they'll simply perform better. Exclusives solely on PS.

That's how it was meant to work on paper, but it's just not true there's countless examples of the PS5 out performing on 3rd party games.

Paper spec it shouldn't ever be the case, reality its not so clear cut.

At the very start of the generation some SX titles had weird frame rate bugs because of development tools not being readily available, but they were later patched up. Now pretty much everything performs better on SX including the new Mass Effect LE and Resident Evil Village.

Simply not true. Stop spreading lies.

Couple of seconds better on PS5 but SX has that sweet quick resume. A feature that still blows my mind no matter how many times I've used it now.

Imagine if Returnal could use quick resume. @b82REZ wouldn't be afraid to play it.
