Protest at Old Trafford

Well the MUST representative says they would be tolerant of the GLazers if more money goes back into the club... What would the club be spending this on long term?

The stadium
The players facilities (across all levels)
The surrounding areas of the stadium
The debt

Imagine being this guy and having to go live on air and lie through your teeth.

Hope they are paying him well

I really hate the Glazers. They actually make me sick.

I know you assume he is lying through his teeth but having worked with him for a number of years I know he’s a sound guy.

I'm not saying he isnt sound. He is saying what he has to say about his bosses.

But the fact is those are lies. There is no evidence the Glazers care. Talk is very cheap.

I feel for the guy having to do their bidding on TV.

Other than the earlier kickoff time, why not?
Who knows. The main reasons are probably: lower profile game, earlier KO time, widespread reports of a massive police presence and, well, it's not Liverpool. Also, what @rimaldo said. The squad players went out of their way to show how badly the money was spent. Job done.

Ugh, disgusting.

He can piss off with his 'continued dialog' nonsense. People say it might be harsh because he's an employee but he chooses to be an employee of the leeches, so he should expect the backlash. I'd like to see Richard Arnold in front of a camera if he will indeed take over.

The Glazers are not going to do anything if talking is what they think will solve this. Draw up a plan, follow it and update your shareholders at each general meeting because we know that's what you care about.

AWB and McT with great Lukaku impressions in this game already.

More good work from the boys tonight. Well done each and every one of you

Well done to the guys that were arrested? Arrested because they are angry at what happens at a football club (that’s doing quite well!?) Like… sorry wife, kids, family and work tomorrow (if they have jobs at all), we’re going to jail so might not be able to contribute in a few days…. Yeah, good work, well done indeed :wenger: I would be absolutely embarrassed if one of these were in my family.

(And before you hit back with some lousy attempt to discredit me for not helping the cause… well, I’m one of those crazy people who respect police officers and don’t like to vandalize things for the sake of something trivial as football. I also have a job I need to go to in the morning, best to not spend the night incarcerated).

Well done to them for standing up for something they care about and are passionate about, something that is a huge part of their lives and is being neglected. It might be trivial to you, fine, you are the only one who can say what matters to you, it’s not trivial to us. You don’t get it and never will, that’s fine, others do.

Im pushing 60 and personal experience here but the overwhelming vast majority of times in my life time I have seen people protesting for things they believe in they have been absolutely correct in their convictions. This situation is absolutely not trivial and has been a long time coming. Those who are protesting and doing it lawfully are making me proud of our fanbase.

Absolutely, every last one of them is doing what they believe in and I’m proud of each and every one.

Proud of all those protesters.
Same again and lose v Fulham as well eh?

How did one phrase go? Protesting is for Bulgarians and Albanians?

Shame not enough people in the UK do not show as much passion about corruption in the government as our fans express about the decay in our football club but at least they're starting somewhere. Jobsworth attitude like this is so pathetic, it makes me physically ill.

Now I get it. If the Liverpool bus was indeed intercepted and the game was called off AGAIN, Liverpool should be awarded with a 3-0 win. I know 16 years under-cover is a long time, but now every one know you are true red, Merseyside Red.

I´m not sure the protests are against the SL anymore. I mean, why fight a battle already won.

If you think the Glazer's will give up on the Super Leaguer or Relegation Immunity then that is very naïve.

You'd be wrong.

Plus, unemployment isn't a protected characteristic
Yeah but they’re not unemployed, you’re assuming they are in a snobby generalisation. Proper dodgy behaviour

I’m kind of annoyed about the effect of the protests. They’ve pretty much spoiled a decent looking end to the season.

Form has dropped a bit and it has the look of 5 straight defeats about it, including the Europa final.

I don’t object to peaceful protest but when it goes too far I’d rather do without it. I realised I care more about watching the team play football than who owns the club.

Really we’re just talking about money anyway. It’s not a holy revolution.

Avram: “The fans are revolting.”
Joel: “So true.”

Who cares about us losing meaningless games?

Many people do care about who owns the club. Many people have sacrificed a hell or a lot trying to enact some positive change.

I'm sure Bury, Bolton fans didnt care about the club until it was too late. I'm sure Glasgow Rangers weren't paying too much attention until it was late and they died aswell.

What your essentially saying is I'm ok with a protest as long as its non disruptive and doesn't really do anything. Protests should be disruptive and cause a scene. Otherwise they are pointless..

On a wider point, these threads are so annoying now. There's perhaps a window after the Super League debacle to try and bring about genuine change to football and too many seem more concerned about meaningless end of season matches and our image in the media.

Such a nothing statement.

We haven't been caring all along but we promise you that we do infact care. And where has this nonsense come from that the Glazers main issue is "communication"? I'd argue that had people known more about their awfulness the movement would be even stronger. They've been smart to keep to themselves while bleeding the club dry.

A protest is an expression of an attitude, of discontent, of opposition. If it is also disruptive, violent or otherwise criminal, it has gone too far and is more than just a protest.

Yes what I’m saying is free speech and free expression is fine. In a civilised society you can’t just break the law, infringe on other people’s liberties and cause disorder without consequence. What you’re saying is that you CAN do all that if you don’t like something.

It’s basically bollocks. And like I said, it’s all about money. If the Glazers spend a whole stack of cash then what’s really the problem? City don’t have a problem with their owners because they spend money. Money money money. It’s repulsive.

The gist of the protest is: Glazers give me money. We don’t even say please.

I don’t like the Glazers either but there are many worse things in life, including sending coppers to the hospital, trespass, wilfully hurting the club and our prospects.

As for all that stuff about Bury and Bolton, those are not comparable at all. Rangers just won the league without losing a game. United will be fine. We are fine. Could be better with more money, money, money but I’m pretty sure I don’t give a shit.

People asking what has been won from these protets are doing my head in. Same with those who say that it was fine once but now it's getting annoying. Nobody thinks that one protest is going to change something. It's a process not an event, a campaign. I can't think of a one off protest that has change anything, but I can think of several long runnimg campaigns which have achieved their goals. Tactical diversity is also important. People who boycott, write letters, march and engage in direct action are all needed in this to put on more pressure and grow momentum, even if they may disagree with each others tactics. This means some people will throw some disruptive action as well. It's not the right time to stop protesting, we're only in the beginning with this.

Waiter, I'll have the exact opposite please.

If you reported that you seriously need to get a life

I don't lurk anywhere for the record, when I log in it was the top thread so I read out of interest. You didn't quote me wondering why i was lurking when I was complementing Greenwood I notice.

Seems like a guilty conscience.

Clarification I did the right thing in raising your antics with the appropriate authorities.

I'll sleep well.

Goodnight.
