Protest at Old Trafford

What a ridiculous post. These twerps on the pitch are literally breaking the law, looking like a bunch of sheep whilst at it. Leaders? Wow, none of these are leaders of anything. They are just irrational deadbeats with nothing to lose, except the ability to go to the stadium after receiving their lifetime bans tomorrow. We’ll see if it was worth it then.
good lord..... seriously????

Green and gold campaign was peaceful and achieved nothing. This is the only way they will get the message across and they need to do similar for every home game.

Where are the Glazers? Because if theyre not there, then what is the point? But since they dont give a feck either, again, whats the point? And since they are all cnuts who know exactly what the fans think of them and dont give a feck, I have to ask just one more time. Whats the point? They only people being hurt by this are the fans who want to watch a game of football. The team that wants to play a game of football. And god knows who else that might catch covid.

This will do feck all. The only way to get the glazers is out, is to not go to games. Is to not buy the merch. The damaging their pocket is the only think thats going to make them care.

Honestly I didn't think these protests would make much difference but delaying the game at all was massive, thats the part people won't realise is bigger. Affects schedules all across the world, which affects sponsors and sponsors run this game better than anything. The Glazers will only care when their pockets are affected and all this negativity on them will get attention in the states.

Only problem is the damage to property, fighting with police etc then paints the fans in a negative light.

Of course it wouldn't
Yup, I agree.which is why it had to happen today,

Neville is one hundred percent correct in everything he says.

The Glazers have to go after that the ESL debacle,

I just wish that they’d not broken the cameras and stuff. The media will have a field day with that and paint the protest as something that it wasn’t for the overwhelming majority.

The whole football world is talking about how we want the glazers out though. Fantastic work by everyone who attended
Yeah but a peaceful protest would do more....

I'm disappointed that there's been some violence if I'm honest. Absolutely no need for it but it seems some just can't help but go too far. Pack mentality.

I'm sure you can flick through Sky and find a different game to watch. If you support this club you'll understand why this is more important than one game.

This.

Absolutely bonkers that people are questioning the actions of the supporters. As Neville and Carra were saying, it was peaceful. So all good.

feck the football game. How the feck can Jamie Carragher understand this & people on here don’t. feck my life, some of you deserve the Glazers.
Our fanbase is full of idiots, events like today confirm that. Thank God not everyone is like them because otherwise we would be playing in the ESL next season.

Hearing reports that the Covid-19 bubble has been breached as a fan entered the dressing room. I will be very surprised if this game is happening now.

Protesting is very important, as is visibility of protests. However, I don't believe United fans would be going to the lengths of attempting to prevent the game happening if they were within 5 points of City right now - which was entirely possible this season. I'm not suggesting that lack of success is the reason for the protest, but that possibility of league success this season would have changed the form of it.

That - plus the potential danger it created for club staff, stewards and broadcasters (innocent bystanders who did the safe thing and didn't resist) - is why forcibly entering the stadium on a match day during a pandemic was too far in my opinion. The idiotic behaviour of the minority of those who did enter the stadium also undermines the protest. The media is already more focussed on fan protests than it has been in a long time.

99.9% of this was a peaceful protest. There's one nobhead throwing a camera and that's about it.

The Super League was the final straw.

I’m happy to see our fans fighting the ownership. As long as no one was hurt, I couldn’t care less about fans invading the pitch or breaking into OT. Frankly it’s overdue.

So why attack the police?
I wasn't serious.

Those posts proved what I had said, but some posters on here admit those fans do love our club and they're doing it to make Glazers sell the club.

Like feck they do love the club doing this.

But the 0.01% were violent. Think of the hundreds of pounds of damage. Why can't we just focus on that and nothing else?

I'm not against protesting, nor am I for the Glazers. But this has been a shambles. I would advocate a mass boycott, season after season. We go on about them taking money, well why not stop giving them money to take?
Agreed. Absolutely no need for the violence and I can't believe people are advocating it on here.

Tbh there does seem to be some divide on here between United supporters who see the club as a cultural/social institution and others who see it as their weekly television show.

Ain’t that the truth.

There was a supporter talking on BBC Breakfast a couple of weeks ago who said that football clubs are integral to the history of the country and should be protected like Grade listed buildings are. She was spot on.

And how would you suggest that the consensus to not attend games is built?

A few thousand not attending hardly makes a dent. We need full support which only comes when a sufficient number of people believe it will be effective.

Souness chatted absolute guff as per usual. Completely wrong with his facts but that’s not even challenged. What’s the point.

That’s the bit that has really griped me. Keane and Neville are both former players and United fans, why didn’t they correct him?

The Glazers didn’t buy the club with their own money. They bought a club they couldn’t afford and then put the club into major debt. A practice that is now illegal.

United fans protested in 2010 after we had won 3 Premier League titles in a row and just been in a Champions League final the year before. How is that fans only protesting when United are not doing well? Plus the fact this season we are on the up compared to the last 8 years. The timing is because the Glazers were central to the Super League idea, got found out and barely even apologised for their actions.

Souness is a cnut and all he’s done is provide inaccurate information to all the ABUs out there that will use anything to label United fans as the worst set of football supporters.

This. But most of this lot will complain that it's not possible etc. Etc. It's laziness, and I have to question their attitude.

What are you talking about? I've just seen your post's that Pexbo posted and you have the temerity to question my loyalty to the club?
I've supported United through thick and thin and I will continue to do so.

We damage the brand in the short term -- that will hurt the glazers much more than hashtags and petitions.
Obvious
1) united would still stand a chance of the title
2) Being kept out of the fledgling European Cup ( as Chelsea were the previous season) by threats of expulsion, points deduction etc in 1956 is exactly the same as the ESL. Then the EC was viewed as the end of domestic competition.

Don't go to games - Nobody has for over a year now.
Don't buy the merch - They'll just announce a new official (insert household material) club sponsor worth 10 times however much you end up costing them at the Megastore.

To borrow a phrase, whats the point?

Anyone who is taking the moral high ground against these protests don't care about your fans feeling against the owners, they couldn't care less whether the Glazers owned you or didn't. It's good to see them show their a*se about it. You've been protesting the owners for a decade on and off, peaceful protest has led you nowhere. Anyone with any bit of investment in fans actually having some ownership over the game is on the side of youse.

Fair play to your boys. I'm fully behind you lot. Wish Liverpool fans had a bit of this about them at the moment.

I mean... A bunch of angry fans descending on a stadium, probably drunk. It was entirely predictable, and I hope the organisers take some responsibility for it.
