Protest at Old Trafford

Anyone who doesn’t condone the fan protests in the midst of a global pandemic, causing the game to be delayed, possibly cancelled, criminal damage to occur, trespassing and embarrassing the club is a Glazer-supporting millennial wallflower snowflake armchair fan who has never set foot in Manchester.

/s

Care to comment instead about why you generalised the actions of a minority to discuss all of the protestors?

This just about sums this thread up in a nutshell.

They'll punish the fans for protesting in part following the ESL?

Makes no sense really.

Yes. That’s exactly what I think.

we all know it’s about money, theyll be hundreds of TV companies around not happy that this going won’t be going ahead at the scheduled time

Would love to know who let these fans in. Someone's clearly done a bit of an insider job here.

Gazza has just turned up with a roast chicken and a fishing rod. Be over in no time.

There is always risk. You take a risk getting up in the morning, crossing the street... or sticking your face in a fan.

Also why are the protesting trying to stop the team bus leaving Lowry hotel, this ain't ideal preparation for our squad before such a big game.
For a lot of the fans protesting this is more than just the game or this season. Even next season for that matter. Its a matter of getting the identity of the club back.

This is a working man's club and some have reached an irreversible tolerance now where they will act on pure emotion to make themselves heard.

Glazers being discussed on the Norwegian broadcaster now. I'll take a guess that's what they're talking about on every other broadcaster in the world to explain why the game is delayed.

Can't get my head around those being so arsed about the game getting delayed/called off. Do you not understand this would be a huge win for Glazers out? It would hit them where it hurts.

One protest won't do anything. It needs to be sustained protests.

All getting the game cancelled will do is ensure that subsequent protests are undermined by much more negative coverage, opposition from within the fanbase and heavy anti-protest measures.

And the people who thought the suspension was a great statement and were criticising other fans for not being supportive of it will be the first to complain when their subsequent protests aren't effective and start petering out.

Are you for real?

In not wanting to see pictures broadcast around the world of our own fans breaking in to the stadium?

I’m amazed by the casual reaction of so many to this, if it had been any other team it would been widely condemned on here.

Peaceful outside the ground sure, but breaching OT and going on the pitch and attempting to get up the tunnel... if you think that’s acceptable I suggest a wobble or two of the head maybe in order.

Someone said van de beek is pissed because the fans have had more time on the Old Trafford pitch than he has.

You are more concerned with Liverpool than the damage the Glazers have done to us.

I want Liverpool out of the CL. That is an important thing. I also want the Glazers out (more important) and have respect for protesting - but not the invasion of the pitch.

I dont think you understand the whole point of protesting.
Convenience and being agreeable arent key components.
This is exactly why it is the right occasion. A lot of people attracted to that game, Sunday afternoon, Manchester.
This is the way to do the protest.
On the contrary, doing it against our biggest rivals is exactly when it should be on, maximum exposure.

Unless they can do this every week for the rest of the season and the season beyond this means nothing. Fair play to them if they can do it.

Else, the Glazer's won't even bat an eyelid. What this achieves is that the players get ruffled before an important match and fear for their safety.

Appropriate username for this post.

Great post.

So people would rather Liverpool get the three points, damaging our league position in the vain hope that it leads to a Glazer sale. Stupidity.

Few individuals? There's several hundred clowns on our pitch judging by the photos. Get them off, arrest them for trespassing/vandalism, I don't care. Then kick-off. End this charade.
What chance do we have when our fans are talking like this? What would YOU do to protest against the Glazers? Nothing done for the past fifteen years has made them flinch.

This is so dumb, it will achieve nothing - the Glazers don't care about protests. The only result will be to wipe out all the positivity around the team after Roma and put negative thoughts in Pogba's and Cavani's minds, so they won't extend.

The only way to force the Glazers out is to pressure the politicians to legislate 50+1, no other protest will be successful. These protesters should go to London and do this in front of the parliament, not Lowry...

Souness talking bollocks.

EDIT: They were protesting in 2010 when we were "top dogs"

Souness talking net spend under the Glazers, talk about completely missing the point

I believe that tripod wasn't Glazers'.

It's vandalism, too.

No. It was Sky Sports - a major broadcast partner who are in a position to pressure the Glazers into selling. You want to laugh at and belittle efforts of fans as non effective, but you also want to criticise fans for targeting the very organisations who can be effective.

Easy to see who you're rooting for in all this.
