Pro Evolution 2017

Why have they taken stuff out of the game for no reason? Like some of the stadiums?

Old Trafford is gone. United aren't licenced and Arsenal/Liverpool are instead, but neither of their stadiums are in the game. So they've just taken stuff out of the game for no reason at all?

It's alright to play, but the realism is completely lost when Man Red (who's kit is black?) are playing Merseyside Blue at the Konami stadium in the incorrectly formatted "England Cup". The gameplay is decent doesn't come close to justifying the shite you have to ignore or put up with to get to it.

People keep defending this game as not being for online players or people who want to prat around with ultimate teams online etc...but then if it's not targeted to that audience why is there such a piss poor attempt in so many aspects (to the point it almost seems deliberate), to make it seem like a realistic football sim?

The days of Master League addiction being able to rescue any of these types of flaws are long gone.

That sounds dreadful. I certainly won't be falling for the trap of buying this again.

There's a Man Red, who play in black, not red. They do have all the correct players and names though, and the squads are actually up to date, which I think is a first for PES.
It takes half an hour to get all the proper team names and kits on the ps4.

On a separate note, Bailly has been a monster for me in this game. And making long passes with Mata is just lovely. So is running and shrugging off the opposition with Pogba.

Good to hear. I'm kind of excited by the reviews. Might be just the excuse I need to get a console. Sweet.
If gameplay is what you care about then you'll love this. It's absolutely fantastic. They've even added tactical options such as gegenpress, tiki taka, false 9 etc which gneuinley impact how your team plays.

Really thinking about getting PES in addition to FIFA this year. I´m basically only getting FIFA for online play with my friends, despite not liking the demo that much.

On the other side i was really surprised by the PES demo. It felt really good to play and the players seemed to be much more responsive in terms of commands. Could be a nice option for solo play compared to FIFA.

Definitely. The reason I went with PES is because I don't care much for FUT or most the online modes. In terms of a quick pick up and play, PES is miles ahead IMO. Its online isn't all that bad either tbh, I haven't had a laggy match yet.

I was tempted to keep both games, but found it hard constantly switching back between FIFA and PES, having to unlearn the playing style of the previous game

I haven't played any in yonks but have football obsessed kid who's nearly old enough for a console so might dip in again soon. I was quite fond of "Man Red" and the made up players in that team. I reckon my young lad would be gutted if he couldn't play as a United team with Zlatan and Pogba in it, though. Neither of us would be too fussed about stadia. Is there a "Man Red" in this game?
United have all the real players in it. Getting real kits and names on PS4 (think its a lot more complicated on Xbox) is ridiculously easy
Download file from PES world > Put it on a USB > Put USB in PS4 > Click Import > Done

They used to be a lot more imaginative back in the day with the fake names, I remember the days of Von Mistelroom, Frank De Mole, Farzel Haar and Froibaad playing for Holand

also:

Roberto Larcos
Facu
Revon

Northern Ireland had a player called Snake Derick

I guess nowadays they cant bear any resemblance at all or they'd be open to getting sued with nearly every player having image rights etc.

Wales had a player called Porn Barry I think

This game had better be worth the hassle. I've been doing the kit updates with the options files for about an hour now, with one crash in between, and I'm beginning too wonder it it's worth all the effort.

"West Bromwith Albion"

I did mine 10-15 at a time. Minimizes the potential of crashes. Used Cristiano92's option file on pesgaming.

I have a free evening tonight so I'll probably do this and give it a go. It's still annnoying how stuff just randomly disappears though.

I mean when it's some pointless skill feature or soundtrack editor they take out, I'm not so fussed. When it's Old Trafford and Bayern Munich that randomly disappear it is kind of hard to not really notice.

Great site for export teams. I pretty much now have all real teams in Europe, bar two that I want to edit myself with free agents in the game. I just downloaded the Mexican league and waiting on the Chinese League or J League.

Don't think it's a random dissapearance. It's the licensing. With the option files, you'll get the right appearance and all, you still won't get Old Trafford though. You'll get Bundesliga though.

Which option file are you using? Cristiano92's option file is pretty extensive, but I don't think it's to the extent you're mentioning. There's also someone there working on a league of classic teams which looks great. Classic Man Utd is on there as well.

Do the option files inhibit your ability to play online?

We signed a partnership with EA Sports. I guess that effectively ended our PES license.

All these club exclusive licenses are worrying. The Nou Camp isn't in FIFA 17 because of PES's deal with Barca. The same goes for Old Trafford in PES.

For PES I don't mind kits so much because the option files are available (even then I'd like to see teams on both games), but stadiums are another thing altogether. Do FIFA even have kit editing modes? I play FIFA mainly with my mates and PES for the single player gameplay so it's rather worrying to see this trend. We could end up with two watered down football games in terms of license in a few years and the only people who will lose out are us consumers.

Of course, I'd happily support one game if it did everything perfect like, say, 2K with their NBA games. As it stands, both FIFA and PES have too many varying cons to them.

This has been mentioned before, but FIFA licenses and presentation with PES on pitch gameplay and AI and we've got ourselves the perfect football game.

Pes can only have 2 licensed Premier League teams, they replaced us with Arsenal this year

I remember when United were Man Red and Old Trafford was still included.

These club exclusives include their stadiums, I'd bet. Nou Camp not being in FIFA 17 would suggest so.

(Certainly makes the absence of Anfield a bit weird. Don't Konami have a deal with the Scousers? Anfield used to be in the old PS2 games too.)

Anfield and the Dortmund stadium are coming in a patch

Nice.

Too bad Old Trafford is not though. It was in 2016. If only Konami didn't gimp the PC version eh? We'd be able to patch the game to our hearts' desires.

This game...is just so brilliant. I haven't played a football game like this in a long time. I'm pretty much addicted to it. I switched the game speed down a level to -1 and it plays a very realistic game. The hassle of using the options files for kits was worth it.

Pesworld for the main leagues. Then on PESGAMING there's a thread which has singular teams to download. Only downside to it, is they can only go over the slots they edited the teams on. So a lot of checking has to be done. I downloaded the whole Mexican league from that site too.

On another note, I'm really loving the game. I mentioned the game was too easy earlier on i this thread.. I wholeheartedly take that back after my first couple of games in the ML :nervous:

Not too impressed by the FIFA demo. Is there a PES demo I can try? Anyone who has played both moved over from FIFA to PES? I was a huge fan of PES 6-8, moved over to FIFA in 2010 I think.

There's a PES demo on the store

I went from Pes 3-6 to Fifa 09-16 and now back to Pes 17

After my first season with the defaults..I finished 5th in the Championship but got promoted from the playoffs after a 4-1 win over Newcastle. I still have to rely on loan signings in the window. I had Rashford, Quaresma, Iwobi, Kimmich, Enner Valencia all in the Championship

Question for the folk that have downloaded the Pes World option files, do you just download them straight to the USB stick with no fuss or do you have to unzip the files or rename any folders etc?

I have to get my wife to download them from her work computer so need to relay some easy to follow instructions via email

If I'm not mistaken for the files just need to be in a folder called WEPES in the USB.

So how are people tackling ML this year? I'm thinking of going for two simultaneous saves. One with United's proper team. And the other with Everton using the original master league line up. Suggestions, opinions? @Ish

I'm struggling with the option file upload a bit amol. I load it on my profile, but as soon as a friend comes over and logs on as guest, the whole thing goes to pieces. I'd assume it is because user-generated media was not upload on a guest profile either. It's frustrating.

I've read up on creating sub-acounts on my main PS account, but I haven't had the time to, as yet.

So we've played a few tournaments between friends, but I haven't started ML or even MyClub yet.

I'm not sure what the plan with ML is for me this year, as I want to focus on MyClub, but with Battlefield 1 being released soon, I'll definitely be losing out on some time. But your plan sounds like a good plan. I hate the thought of playing against United though , so I usually pick a smaller side in La Liga - with the original players, and give myself the goal of breaking the Barca/Madrid/now Atletico domination within 2-3 seasons.

The reason you are getting the message is because either 1 or both accounts that you are playing PES2017 with is a guest account (Most likely).
What you need to do is make sure you are logged into PSN on both accounts when you play PES2017 2 player mode. If you do not have PSN accounts, you can create them, they are free. (Not to be confused with PSPLUS).

The edited kits and imported image content is only available to play with for online users of PES2017. This is an agreement between Konami and Sony, there is more detail about it over HERE and scroll down to the section that says "Batch Import For Team Data"

Okay I've played the demos and feel PES is the better game. Only thing is I have an XBONE.

Is there a way to sort out the option files? I only really want the main leagues, Champions League teams. Not going to spend hours doing this too.
