Shinji Kagawa: 'It's a great honour to be here. The language is important & I'm really motivated to learn English.'

Good news about one or two more signings, so Baines and Dembele?

Nick Powell: 'This is a whole different world. The players have been fantastic, very nice & welcoming.'

So do we reckon the one more is that 16 year old guy, Goss?

Oh FFS. You lot moan that we might not be signing anyone, then as soon as Fergie says we could bring one more signing in or possibly two more you start looking for the worst circumstances. It won't be Goss, he's already signed along with Castro Pereira and we wouldn't present two 16yr old signings in a press conference!

How (not) tall is Kagawa?

really hopes he recovers :(

Kagawa's just under 5 foot 8.

SAF on Kagawa: "Once he's adapted and gets to know some football phrases our players will use, he'll be used to that."

SAF on Kagawa: "He can start the first league game quite easily. I've got no problem with that."

SAF on Powell: "I think in Nick's case, he's got a bit of physical development to do, just as we would expect of an 18 year-old."

Baines would make sense, but I don't think it's Dembele, with the quotes about the delay in the transfer market due to the Euro's we can more or less guarantee they were both involved in the tournament.

Nicky Powell: 'It's a great honour to be here. The language is important & I'm really motivated to learn Scottish.'

Shinji Kagawa: "Everything about Manchester United is huge & it's a huge honor to be here."

Shinji Kagawa: "I want to work hard everyday in order to improve. This is the biggest challenge so far in my career & I look forward to it."

Good shout actually.

Downing & Henderson please

Not necessarily - it could also mean that the club where United want to do business - wanted to wait until after the Euros because of interest in other players involved in the tournament.

But - you probably are correct

Coentrao and Martinez. :nervous:

We have strengthened, but I think some of us have more faith in our manager and could enjoy the reaction of others if we choose not to sign a CM.

The manager has said time and time again that he wants to add 1-2 players to the team. If we end up not doing that, then it should be a disappointment and not a delight. Lets forget our CM problem which is pretty evident by anyone who actually watches football. I have yet to see a true supporter who's so obsessed in being portrayed as a top red that he'll be delighted to see his manager fail in getting the player/s he want.

Oh well.

Everyone wants the squad to improve, that's the same with any supporter of any team ever. The point you make is sound.

But, and it's a fairly big but, stop making the same fecking point over & over & over & over again, you boring gimp.

Jesus fecking Christ.

Are you sure about that?

I Would be delighted, if only for those jittery nervous pessimistic wrecks on here would see their nightmare come true and the secret hopes they're harboring (despite their utterings of doom) somewhere inside their little christmas hearts would be crushed: no fecking signings for you HO HO HO!

Oh well.

He's never said we are signing a CM though. If we fail to do that then I'd still be ok with what we have, but the meltdown of others would be entertaining.

I think there was a hint of irony in that post, though.

I much doubt it. In fact, Pocco had defended this madness and we'll probably see twigs defending it too.

Just because SAF may not add a new CM to the team that doesn't mean that we don't need it. First of all SAF is a great manager but he's no god. He can commit mistakes like the one he did when he derided Rio's fee to Leeds (only for him to sign him for twice the price once he was available again). Secondly the reason behind not signing a CM may be various (+ may include our inability to attract the players SAF wanted (we failed with Hazard and may have failed with Modric)). If that's the case then there's nothing to be delighted about.

I just hope Carrick's form doesn't dip or he doesn't get injured. If by any chance that happens we'll be in so much shit it'll almost be funny.

Kevin was talking about transfers in general.

And I have yet to figure the entertainment of seeing fellow supporters being frustrating at our inability (which may have been for multiple reasons including not being able to attract the players SAF wanted), especially since its pretty evident that we need to strengthen CM up. Ill be happier if Shitty had a weak position (lets say defense) and they insist on spending shitloads of money in strikers.

I wonder if the likes of Pocco would be delighted with that. I mean that would seriously frustrate fellow supporters and there's every reason for a meltdown.

I personally think Kagawa will play in a 2 man CM anyway, i dont think he has been bought to play behind the striker.

Looks good to see him hold up a Utd shirt anyway, cant wait for the pre season games now.

4 'mays' and an 'if'. It's mostly presupposition, devilish.

And most people know Ferguson's not infallible. Just wait and see what happens between now and the start of the season instead of hammering everyone over the head with the same point over and over again.

"We need a midfielder!". Why don't you tell us something we don't know?

I'm not sure how good he is defensively, but would say he definately has the guile, and ability to pass and move that would make him suitable to play well in a CM role.

The fitness of Anderson and Cleverley makes a huge difference to us this season as well

Seriously, are you off your fecking rocker? Do you think Fergie wouldn't be able to spot weakness in our side, a weakness that we have had for 3 seasons? I'm sure that he could have signed a midfielder if he wanted to, though he has said Nick Powell is a CM to be fair.

I hope that we get a midfielder. If we don't get it, then I hope that Im proven wrong and the team does well without one. If we end up winning the treble with that midfield, then Ill be the happiest supporter in here even though there's the risk of my post being bumped and laughed at for years to come is high. United well being > my opinion, credibility etc.

Does anyone actually pay money for MUTV? It's a piece of crap. I've watched a couple of call in shows and they make me loose the will to live. Boring presenters, boring callers, no new information (MUTV is usually the last to report anything) and no special access to games.

The only thing useful is the academy and reserve matches, which I just stream anyway.

I only get it during pre-season (when the games start) then cancel it immediately after.

The one he's talking about is Baines then I'd assume...which would dissapoint me.
Hopefully we will get the other one as well he's talking about and hopefully it's a CM, or at least Lucas

Great managers tend to get stubborn at times (I've mentioned a classic case in an earlier post) + as said before there may be other issues including targets being targeted by financially stronger sides etc. Believe it or not, SAF does not always get what he wants/needs
