Premier League May 3-5

How do people not want Europa League here? We aren't some low team with a thin squad that can't afford to play in here to the detriment of the league. With the exception of CM and fullbacks , our squad is ridiculously overstocked especially in the attacking areas. Stop treating it like a mickey mouse competition because although it might be bad at the group stages, once you get to the knockouts its actually a decent tournament (as we learnt with our schooling by Bilbao in 2011/12)
The point is that when you don't have it, it can be a great boost for the league, we've seen how much with Liverpool. With clean midweeks, your players are fresher, there's a greater chance of avoiding injuries and there's more focus on the league. I'd say having no Europa increases United's odds of getting back towards the business end of the Premier League quite a bit. And it's not as if we'd be making 11 changes every week.

I can't believe you guys don't want Europa league, if we end up qualifying for Europa this season. It means we end the season with having achieved something. Which will give us plenty of momentum going into the new season. People will site Liverpool as an example as how it's better to have 1 game a week and all that but over the years we have built up a big squad and I am sure we can play pretty much play two squads where 1 team can be kept fresh for the pl, while Europa allows us to try some youngsters. I cant imagine having to wait entire week to watch united again. Also regarding Liverpool, their team is so used to playing once a week that next season when they face two games a week, I can see them inevitably struggling, they don't have our big squad to cope and cannot build one over one summer alone. By playing in Europa and hopefully making it back into the top 4, the following season, we will ready to tackle CL, the way Liverpool won't be this year.

2-0 West Ham, Downing. His first goal for West Ham.

Christ almighty, how bad do you have to be to let Stuart Downing have the two key moments of the game

I say this every week...but how are they ahead of us in the table? How did we lose to them?

that wall would be displayed on training videos all over....

...err how Not to that is...

btw the goalie directs the wall...so he cant just wash his hands off.
There was nothing wrong with where the wall was and you can't blame Lloris for Adebayor and Paulinho pussying out.

Definitely want us in the Europa league. It's winnable and next years champions get automatic champs league. We can blood some youngsters in it too. Daft to not want it and to cite Liverpool as an example !

Will we be getting into the 3rd qualifying round if we finish sixth or directly into the Playoff round?

Yep. Don't understand the gimps that want us to finish 7th. It's clearly a fantastic opportunity for the young & fring players.

I hope for example to see Pearson, Pereira, Wilson and Varela in the EL next season.

5th is not impossible, Everton have City at home and Hull away. We need to win all three games though.

We'll win our next two and probably lose to Southampton. Unless Giggs has us really playing top stuff, I can't see us winning there.

Easy there.. you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

I honestly don't want Europa league. Play Thursday and then Sunday. Also, we will not have the same advantage as Liverpool has and Everton in some capacity.

When you want to implement a footballing philosophy, you nee time and Rodgers and Martinez have shown not playing for 5-6 days allows them to work on the training ground improving the team. That is why you a sudden transformational of them this season With style of play that Van Gaal has and the transition we are in, no European football for a year is perfect for us, in footballing terms.

van Gaal will play the reserves and the kids...
Not a chance. He will be loooking for silverware in his first season. He will push united and push them hard to win something, anything. He doesn't know or owe players and supporters so he will be looking to make himself look good.
