Premier League Matchweek 5 16th-18th September

Fantastic away win, one defensive lapse but a well drilled and cohesive performance. Another of the big club/away day crossed off the list.

Too angry to say anything worthwhile about that embarassment of a game, so I'll settle for pointing out that Liverpool are cnuts just in case it had slipped anyones minds.
 You need to cool down man.

Even without his goal Henderson was brilliant tonight. The goal was just the icing on the shit flavoured cake.

Bar his dreadful freekick, Fabregas looked good. Seems he can play football to an acceptable standard again.

Liverpool have had the hardest fixture list by far, yet it's fecking Burnley who took points off them.

I despise that serial-hugging twat. About a five minut session on Noggie TV now with him wandering around and hugging and chest thumping his la's.

Well I'm feeling much better now after watching that. A dire match. Chelsea were as bad as we have been the last couple of games.

It is not so much about the strength of the shot but the curve of the shot. It pretty much curves perfectly inwards the goal.

You are right that Courtois sees the shot early and he reacts quickly to it. His jump from the ground is also well timed and the overreach movement is pretty much much textbook keeping. He simply does not reach the ball, which might be used against him if he would have below average arm reach, but Courtois is nearly 2 meter tall, a good deal taller than De Gea or Neuer for example.

The only way a keeper gets a hold of this shot is if he would be taller than Courtois with a reaction speed on the level of Neuer or De Gea. As of now such a Keeper does not exist.
Or he could simply have positioned himself half a meter closer to goal in the first place. We'll just have to disagree on how "impossible" a save it would be.

Chelsea absolutely deserved to lose this. Starting as defensive and passive like that at home is pathetic and apart from 5 minutes after they pulled one back they didn't look threatening at all. Liverpool dominated the last 15 minutes and could've actually scored another.
Anyway, neither of these teams look like they'll threaten Guardiolas city for the title. Liverpool seems to be in the mix for top 4 though, they've now got 10 points from their games against the last seasons top 3 + Chelsea, 3 of those games away as well. That's quite impressive.

While Liverpool have beaten Arsenal away and Chelsea away, it has to be said, both Arsenal and Chelsea are awful at the moment. Not even Premier League standard. Maybe even worse than THAT united performance away at Feyenoord.

:wenger:

Lallana looking like Footballer of the Year, League turning into a procession, this is not good.

All good news for us.

Liverpool will fade away and our rivals have dropped points.

What's the success rate of international football managers to club football managers? From my memory, its underwhelmingly poor. I think it will take some time for Conte to adapt to the league.

Annoys the shit out of me. Imagine we'd have started with 13 out of a possible 15 points with that first five fixtures.. We're much better against the bigger sides though, so I expect the worst from our next five.

Probably took notes from LVG

Great start to the weekend - love beating those plastic cnuts, especially at their place.

What a goal to win it. Can relax and enjoy the rest of the games now.

Liverpool really are improved with Klopp. On their day they can win against anyone like we see here, but the thing that will hold them back from being one of the top 2/3 is probably consistency in the other games. Klopp will always have them perform well in big games and their players are clearly up for them, he just needs to get them to do it in the easier games like Burnley.

Anyone who thinks this isn't going to be a real struggle just to get top 4 this season is crazy. Man City are nailed on, Chelsea will be there, Liverpool will get top 4 IMO, Arsenal usually manage to get there every season, Spurs aren't going to be far off.

Impressive performance by Liverpool. They do perform well in the big games.

If they sort out their consistency they will be in the top 4.

Did I miss City winning the league? Let's calm down a bit. There's nothing wrong with saying "it's too early to tell" instead of "no one's going to threaten Guardiola's City". Well, you don't know that, it's been 4 games.
How about "City look the best team so far, but it's only September".

Fantastic win away at the plastics. Brilliant :D, these obsessed twats were singing about Gerrard 4 minutes in  take that you fecks.

Liverpool are doing quite well at the moment. The match in a couple of weeks will be very important now - we have beat them to stop this momentum they are gaining

They'll probably make the top 4 even without being very consistent. Arsenal and Spurs aren't very consistent either and it remains to be seen about United and Chelsea. On current form they are second only to Citeh. Both teams play with intensity that is too much for most of the other teams.

What a poor, poor game that was.. can't believe these are two supposedly top teams.

still don't see the point of Rachel Riley

Easiest job in the world

turn up each Friday sit down, ask a few scripted questions, go home.

Such an utter pointless addition to the sky team.

Yes, yes, we get it, you're gay. Good for you :)

Oh what a lovely start to the weekend. Not only have we got a huge smile until Monday, Chelsea fans will have to chew tacks until then as well. :D

Deeney and Ighalo can make this weekend even better! ;)

What a fecking shit loss. Liverpool have done absolutely nothing all game.

Enough of starting Matic AND Kante ffs.
If only you had Charly Musonda playing for you.
