That's exactly what's wrong with refereeing, Howard Webb said no penalty because the reaction was exaggerated from the push. It was a push whilst in midair, unless he's discovered the gift of flight he's unable to shunt himslf further forward midair. It's a penalty.
Surely it was also in Newcastle's interests for Sunderland to win today as well, to stop the gap to Norwich growing beyond what it is now.
