Premier League Matchweek 3 (26-27 August)

Every young talent is in a different league to Rashford for the people here. Clear case of the grass being greener on the other side.

Come on, G. Jesus is much better than Rashford at this point. He's much more clinical, he doesn't get dispossessed and run into nonexisting space all the time. I love Rash and think Jesus is an absolute twat, but that's not a clear such case at all

Bernardo Silva is the Portuguese Isco. He might be just as good too. Teams were sleeping letting City snatch him so cheaply.
I'm surprised Monaco sold him so early in the window. I had it in my mind that - Mbappe aside - he'd fetch them the most money.

barca wanting to spend 100 million on coutinho instead of jesus?
Coutinho is earmarked for midfield. Better comparison would be Jesus and Dembele, and Dembele is a good signing for Barca.

He's a better player but being in a different league implies that there is a loads and loads of difference between them. There isn't. Also it was only last match where he was subbed off at half time by Pep.

Also Rashford doesn't play as a striker anymore, I'm sure some bright spark would come in and compare their goal scoring records.

City have spent the annual GDP of a small country on their defence, and it still doesn't really show. The only reason they're not being found out yet is that their attack is so potent it keeps the other team from going at their defence. I really think that when they face the big teams, they'll be defensively weak. Last week at Everton for example, Everton could get through when they had a go at them.

Not overly scared of this team.

Bernardo should've passed it to David Silva and it'd have been an easy goal.

Ake has really been awful for Bournemouth.

Yeah I think he was seeing first goal for new club. In all honesty even shooting he should have scored. 18 yards out with a bit of space. Was his poorest moment of the half.

Ake has been terrible. Doesn't look anything like a top potential centre back today. One of those games where everything is going wrong for him. Even managed to position himself so bad he almost broke his ankle clearing a ball with 10 yards space.

They were a man down, though, and his two striker formation didn't work at all. Pep loves Jesus.

Hah, this is coming from a guy who took -8 points in fantasy to trade out Daniels and Jesus

Are you serious? City are playing way better football. Only a matter of time. It's hardly hit and hope, they have a plan.

Of course they are, they better be with those investments. I'm looking at Mendy/Danilio and they seem to be randomly putting the ball into the box. Mostly never trying to beat a man or cut in. That's what reminded me of our match

Alrighty, just turned the tv on. Is that one of those matches where City will inevitably score or can we still hope for a draw?

"If Rashford can work on his finishing....."

Do we have any documented cases of a player who became a better finisher after they were 19?

My understanding is that developing as a finisher has as much to do with the mental aspect as it does the technical. Composure, technique and such ought to be pretty much part of that player at Rashford's age, rather than something likely to be developed significantly in their 20's. That's why the comparison to Jesus is valid, because Jesus had these traits at Rashford's current age and earlier.

They'll inevitably score, they're playing well except for the first 20 minutes.

Yea. Totally. I'm mad at Barca for not getting him. Isco affair all over again. 23 years old playmaker available for 50m. in today's market and City get him so easily.

Sorry for the off topic, everyone, but I'll spend my last comment asking this:

I only have three comments each day, which is a bit frustrating tbh. What do I have to do to get ... "upgraded"?

It depends on B'Mouth, they started strong but now are backs to the wall. If they can score on the break 2nd half it will be tight (its a possibility).
If B'Mouth don't score I think its inevitable we'll break them down when they tire.
If City score before the 70th minute, it could be 4 or 5-1 by the end.

So it could be a B'Mouth win, City win or a draw. How Paul Merson of me.

Ake's got a bet on getting himself sent off or something, such a stupid and needless foul from behind.

You have get 10 likes inorder to become a full member.

Why is Mings dribbling past 3 City defenders from center back??

Haha Jesus making the "are you crazy/stupid" gesture to the Bournemouth player:lol:

City fans shouting "cheat" is so ironic after watching aguero fall over every time an Everton player breathed on him last week.

Brilliant tough but fair tackle
