When you look at Arsenal's side, Oxlade-Chamberlain appears to want out. Bellerin was hitching his skirt at Barca until they bought Semedo. Ozil and Sanchez, particularly the latter, either want to be elsewhere or want ridiculous sums of money to stay. That's 4 of their 11 players whose commitment could be legitimately questioned. No idea if it's actually affecting them, or if this is down to other things, but it's hardly ideal.
Why couldn't Arsenal just keep it tight for the first 25 minutes at least? Be as defensive as you can and frustrate them and wait for an opening? Clearly, you can't always play the way you want to in every game.
