Premier League Matchday 4 (Sep 9-11)

Calm yourself. You've just compared the two yourself. You'd do well to try and be more constructive instead of sounding so petulant. The two offending players were trying to do the same thing - trap a ball with a high foot. It's not far fetched for fans to see similarities despite the differing context.

I'm debunking anyone comparing the two. Oh the players were trying to do the same things? Doesn't matter when one player is lucky to not have had his jaw broken.

The only thing that is similar is a high foot which is why the comparison is completely flawed.

edit: possibly has cheek and jaw bone fractures, remind me how this is similar to the Nani incident again please?

Liverpool will blame the sending off for them getting spanked, when the real issue is their shite defence + 'keeper.

It's kind of ironic that Oxlade-Chamberlain is in danger of losing 4-0 twice in a row, despite changing teams!

Oxlade Chamberlain could be in line to become the first player to lose 4-0 in two consecutive PL games with different clubs. #History

Feck me. I can't get over the delusion of some Pool fans. 'Never a red, there was no malice' so what if Mane gets to the ball first and Ederson takes him out?

Sure he has but the players also has the right to go for the ball, and considering that particular situation the foul was not completely mane's fault, city keeper is running in to the ball , he knows he cant catch it. Its like the Gk put his head in the line rather than mane going in for his head.
No, Mané has no right to go for ball by raising his foot that high! It constitutes dangerous play. The situation was 100 % Mané's fault. If Mané wants to go for the ball, head it - like the keeper.

And lo, Jesus said unto his team-mates, 'Blessed are the substitutes, for they shall inherit this tired Liverpool defence'.

Can't help but feel City got a bit of a gift here. The score line will paper over the cracks of that defense. This had 2-2 draw all over it.

We would have at least had some attacking threat. Mane's recklessness has cost us.

Danilo is John o shea's brazillian reincarnation. He can play anywhere and give a 6/10 performance.

Klopp showing his management ability here, playing 5 at the back but still playing them on the half way line.

City are absolutely battering them.

If Salah hasn't got a knock it's an absolutely bizarre decision to sacrifice him. He was the only chance of getting anything.

And i'm doubly gutted as he was my fantasy transfer! Dammit.

Strange to feel slightly cheesed off when Liverpool are getting smashed isn't it.

I think Jesus was behind him. Pretty sure but watching on phone so might be wrong.
looked like he was infront, and the ball was played forward..... i guess it doesn't matter but just seemed clearly offside and no one appealed was quite confusing.

Klopp probably feels the game is gone and has his eye on Wednesday. That second goal for City at half time influenced his decision.

Personally I agree with your view of the incident. Completely reckless. Nani's was much more forgivable.

But you have to admit, aside from the context, we are talking two players booked for trapping a ball. It's apples to apples. Which is why I think this more damning for Mane.

Disappointed for not seeing a draw here. But Liverpool just doesn't have the ideas right now to score a goal, let alone 3.
