Premier League - Matchday 20

Damsgaard from Brentford is back to his form before his long sickness. He could play for a top club if he plays like he has done this season.

Funny that after we sell Sancho, we get a manager who plays a system that Sancho would actually do really well in and similar to where he excelled for Dortmund and a position where we're suddenly extremely struggling for options.

In theory, there's quite a few we've gotten rid of recently who would probably have been liked by Amorim. Sancho, McTominay, Elanga and Carreras immediately come to mind, and I think Pellestri would have gotten a decent chance too.

That said, the issue with a number of these players wasn't just ability alone. Sancho in particular had clearly gotten to a point of no return. Can't see how you could have a successful cultural reboot with him around.

Linesman does one of those late raised flags in the Palace v Chelsea game, Palace offside.

He eventually raises it when Palace lose the ball and Chelsea have a great counter attack opportunity. The ref calls it back to give Chelsea a free kick,. stopping their counter.

He wasn't arsed for 3 different managers and behaved like a child, but we're all supposed to feel sorry for him apparently.

We'll see how great he is once he's off his best behavior and back into his old habits by next season

Mctominay and Elanga not at all, Elanga isn't a 10 nor is he a wing back. He's just a winger, but not a good enough one. Mctominay as an attacking box to box, Amorim doesn't use one of those. Guys like Alvaro or Pellistri weren't premier league level so not too bothered about them.

With Sancho, he just didn't get along with Ten Hag and beyond that not sure he's cut out for the pressure at United. But falling out with Ten Hag doesn't mean that he wouldn't get along with Amorim, I always saw Sanchos biggest complaint being not being used much which was fair (but also fair from Ten Hag as he didn't suit him). He suits the left inside 10 role more than anyone we have so in theory he'd be used far more than before.

Why can't they just play advantage in that situation? Bizarre

It’s kind of a theme with our playing staff though? Many, many players seem to get worse, both in terms of fitness and mentality, once they’ve joined our club. It makes you wonder if the issue isn’t the individual players…

This Josh Acheampong fella at centre back looks quality. Very composed on the ball.

Why ? We need them to keep winning , the more teams putting pressure on Liverpool the better

I think it's over, and while I don't see Chelsea as a massive rival as such I still get some joy the times another of the big clubs loses.

Elanga has as much if not more defensive capabilities than Sancho. At least he has the pace and desire to hold down a side without backup if needed.

I'm not sure if Sancho has the pressing ability or stamina for any Amorim role.
