Premier League - Matchday 20

10 minutes added on. You'll have to book off all of your annual leave soon to go to a game.

They're very fair in that aspect

ya there's probably truth to how awful they are balancing out, but i do believe when under pressure, erring on the side of going against united is an officials safest call. the outcry if anything remotely arguable goes for united is just not worth it. then you have the odd ego maniac like Oliver, who is so aware people are talking about him reffing tomorrow that he is actualyl even more likely to go against united because he wants to prove himself as being unphased, rather than the loser who put speed stripes in his hair and let joe hart man of vigour and esteem him

you can set your watch to newcastle faking injury when winning. Ive been saying this for years - its completely by design and ive no idea how it is allowed to happen. Schar is usually the designated one, but it is 100% a rehearsed, strategic thing that every player is part of and understands needs to happen at least once every 10 minutes.

and there it is again, bang on time.

I'd get that if United was a top team in terms of football. I think we've become so irrelevant that it shouldn't matter much if they give us calls or not

If Guimaraes played for us, he’d be carded a lot more and would obtain way less fouls.

He often falls when he’s about to lose the ball and most of the time he gets a free kick for it.

Sounds like similar traits to Bruno Fernandes, without getting as many fouls, no?

Easily checked.

Fbref says this season Bruno Fernandes has been fouled 21 times, Bruno Guimaires has been fouled 66 times.

Bruno Fernandes has also committed half as many fouls but still been given the same number of yellows.

im so sick of teams wasting time and resorting to shithousing tactics like this, it’s killing football.

Refs should keep the game playing if a player has cramps, and for injuries, just wait for the next time the ball goes off and get the player on a stretcher and out of the pitch asap to receive treatment

Cheers. Felt like it was a valid comparison.

Well that was exactly my initial point.

Guimaraes gets away with lots of fouls, but falls down at the slightest touch when he’s in a tough spot in the middle of the park. Im not sure he would get away with this if he played for us

but it does, sadly. the onana challenge on the wolves player last season, and the fernandes goal against city generated a response of a completely different level to anything else in recent years. Im too over how bad we are for that to be bias on my part - its absolutely staggering the extent of which fergusons domination and supposed dominance of refs has damaged the average fan in the uk. Purely as a thought experiment, how many controversial big calls can you remember going our way in recent years. I can think of several going against us this season alone.

If Gillett gaves us two unbelievably soft penalties at stamford bridge, including one in stoppage time last season, there's a fair chance he wont ref us again for a year such is the outcry. But 2 against united? Fans of every other team in england have a giggle and move on, likewise the media

And the stats back it up.

Referees just don't like Bruno Fernandes.

compare and contrast to the West Ham penalty against us this season

compare and contrast to the West Ham penalty against us this season

exactly. the fernandes red card too, just absolutely shocking.

the nature of the west ham one though - where a var official got involved, and basically ordered a penalty was unprecedented. nobody including the ref believed it was

13 points behind Newcastle already is some going.

To be fair, those decisions were horrendously bad. It cracked me up

The ref's control in this game regarding time wasting has been awful. He's let too much go.

Spurs have been the far better team here.

Newcastle are just imitating Atletico Madrid with their shit house style, you'd know that Howe spent time over there learning how to suck the life out of games by cheating.

The commentators are so stupid, they are obviously adding more time for the Botman injury and substitution. So dense.

ya they were terrible decisions. that prompted as much reaction as a title win. Oliver didnt even get stood down for that west ham penalty and is rewarded with anfield tomorrow. If he had intervened that way, to award us a match winning penalty in stoppage time, there is no chance in the world he'd be on tomorrows match.

I'm not talking about the post you replied to, I'm talking about the post where you said 'he's basically a less productive Bruno Fernandes'.

You made a direct comparison and I'm responding by saying they are two very different players who play very different roles.

Of course that’s a bookable offense. Swipe the look of feigned outrage off your face.

Kudus ripping open City's defenses as he wishes so City scores.

ffs.. West Ham have had three solid breaks against City, no goals, but City get a jammy deflected goal instead. Blech.

Southampton are 99% going down. For there to be any realistic chance that United are in a relegation battle, the likes of Everton, Leicester, Wolves and Ipswich need to improve. Can't see it happening.

Stats showing city being dominated in yet another game
