Premier League - Matchday 19

Was slot this good at feyenord?
Yes.

Our best coach in my life time (since about 1990). Took over a shite one-man team Feyenoord with that one man leaving when he started and completely transformed us into a pressing machine with attacking football. Which was quite a thing. Becayse at Feyenoord we work hard and grind out results. We're basically Dirk Kuyt and he turned us into Zidane.

They have one hell of a conditioning coach. They press all game from the front. Fitness levels must be ridiculous
Was watching Fulham v. Bournemouth earlier and the commentator brought up about Bournemouth's fitness levels. We seem to get one good half and more often than not we don't even get that.

How did Slot slot in so seamlessly after Weetabix Teeth left? It’s so unfair.

They identified the right profile of players, high energy runners with good technical ability.

Good recruitment, look at the energy levels in this team compared to Utd and City. Night and day.

City messed up the league they saidl. 2nd time they are not involved in the title race and the league is done by December

Half a season isn't a purple patch.

He's just better in game manager. The players came out in the week and said he tweaks their roles every game.

Better than Klopp I reckon and if he stays long term they will be the best club in the country officially with titles.
I meant in the context of this game. They are extremely efficient at taking their chances.

Too early to say he is better than Klopp.

Diaz, Salah and co are pretty relentless and show the desire that we can only dream of from our players. They seem a lot smarter too than the rag tag bunch we have collected. We have two who think they are Ronaldo incarnates in Rashy and Garna, Bruno has the desire but is bit of a headless chicken, for the strikers the less said is the better. Amad is the only attacker we have who is both intelligent and has the desire. That makes a whole lot of difference. It's ridiculous the amount of balls Liverpool are able to win in the attacking areas.

Liv have quick passing and in addition the other team backs off giving them space to pick passes, liv is a good team but no where good enough the amount of respect they get from other teams (I’m probably biased)

Yep completely agree the commentator said about their work rate when was the last time someone said that about our rag tag bunch

Plus they work as a team we have a bunch of selfish, bad decision makers. The wrong decision is there for ours? You guarantee that's the one they pick

Ours all seem to think they've made it too and are Ronaldo...

League Cup and Prem, yes.

CL and FA cup are still too early to call. By the quarters we’ll have a better idea
Games will pile up in Feb-March, so Liverpool can just focus on CL as PL is all-but wrapped up.

Football is just a confidence sport. Liverpool have it at the moment and are flying, City don't. Sooner or later teams will adapt to Slot's tactics like they did with Conte and have done with Arteta, Postecoglou and Guardiola.

Still think they'll lose pace by March like last year but it needs Arsenal/Chelsea to also hang on.

You can see how the rub of the green goes for you when you’re playing well.

First goal - ridiculous deflection leaves Diaz with a free shot on goal
Second goal - questionable offside, lucky megs and falls kindly to Gapko
Third goal - piss poor goalkeeping.

We’re having the exact opposite kind of luck at the moment

It's not luck at all. They're very good and we're not.

So at the end of the day, the only constant in this league are City and Pep. Second time they have an off-season and the lague is done by December.

With City dropping off they are going about their job without too much pressure. That has a played a big part, imo.

Arsenal need to get their shit together and challenge them.

Arsenal are not winning the league under Arteta. Not happening.

More chance of Chelsea stringing enough wins together when it matters, provided Liverpool slow down.

These thing happen though when you are keeping the other team under relentless pressure.
While West Ham have rolled over against Liverpool for a 2nd time this season for a belly rub there has been plenty of games this season whereby Liverpool looked like conceding and then scored from their first effort on target.

You create your own luck. Look the chance they are creating and the pressure they are putting the West Ham's defense under. They should have scored 2 or 3 before the first goal went in. Areola made a tremendous save from the Salah shot which he would have scored 8 out of 10 times. Then there was a peach of a cross/pass to Gapko which he should have got his head to.

Only these feckers would have the fortune to end up with Nottingham Forest as their closest title rivals. Slot has had it ridiculously easy.

yes, but they should give them a fight at least. Right now Liverpool are coasting along with no one challenging them.

Speaking of Klopp, he must be furious that City’s massive decline happened this season. So… at least that’s a positive to all this.

The West Ham keeper's having an absolute worldie. Could be 0-7 easily with less than an hour gone.

I don’t think many people predicted City’s collapse (at least not until they were punished for the FFP stuff) but Arsenal should have been there to capitalise. It’s ridiculous that the season City are finally out of the way, that they start to drop and it’s deeply annoying that Liverpool are going to win the league because of it.

Areola stealing a living in the PL

Amazing how Liverpool are playing hardball with Salah, Trent and VVD.

If this was United they’d be given 10 year contracts on £500k a week.

I'm hoping your assessment isn't based on this match alone. Literally the only West Ham player on the pitch who seems to be doing his job, and well.
