Premier League GW11

You could tell that was going in the second it left his boot... great goal

Does anyone think Saka is overrated? I just never seem to see him do anything special

Funny how there were people comparing Son with Lingard not too long ago...

When? Son's been incredibly consistant since late 2016 with goals and assists and is just a dream counter attacking player. Can fill in no problem centrally when Kane gets an injury aswell.

Surprise to me he's never been seriously linked last few years with a Barca or Bayern Munich but perhaps he dosen't fit their profile regarding age.

He’s had some pretty great games and he can play like 5 positions to a very consistent standard. He’s still super young but incredibly disciplined and mature for his age.

Disagree with both of you.

I wouldn't call it cheating if he made the foul, but I do think that it is a bit sad that he's getting crticism for not doing it. I wouldn't have crticised if he had either.

Not sure what you mean by 'become so santized'. Fair play is the old school attitude. One time players were disappointed in themselves if they did something that merited them being booked if you go back long enough. Used to be a gentleman's culture to all sports, a belief in fair play and being a 'good sport'. The age of cynicism is now.

Players used to punch each other and get away with it and it was extremely difficult to get booked.

What are you on about?

Oh what a goal. What a player. Him and Kane, and maybe DCL, are the only players who can claim to have been better than Bruno this season.

You would wonder how he'd play without Kane, they are a perfect combination.

No disrespect to Tottenham but how do they manage to hold on to Son? Ridiculously good player who would fit in anywhere.

Saka seems to be struggling this season, still yet to reach the heights he did last year.

Not sure the complaint about the defending is valid. Theres absolutely nothing anyone could have done to alter the result.

I'd sub him if I were Arteta. That was unprofessionnal.

Willian's just in semi retirement playing for Arsenal now, he strolled through this exact fixture 12 months ago and scored two goals.

Chelsea done pretty well having Arsenal come in for Luiz, Willian and Cech when they were all past their best.

Perfect example. He knew it was against the rules, knew he would get caught and punished but did it anyway.

Nothing against OIe, they're all cheating cnuts.

It depends on how you see it. If you know the consequence and you accept them, why would it be cheating? It's just an accepted part of the game.

If we go strictly by the definition of cheating, of course it is, because he's acting unfairly to get an advantage. But since it's an accepted part of football, I'm not sure it applies here.

Cheating would be diving to gain an advantage without repercussion for exemple (for me).

If we go strictly by the definition of cheating as you are doing, then every footballer ever is a cheater, since everyone would commit the midfield foul to stop an attack for a yellow without thinking, and since every one would act as injured to lose time, or even take their time when they are winning to lose time and gain an advantage.

And if everyone does that and hence, is cheater in football, shouldn't we say that it's actually part of football so not really cheating?

They really finessed them on several occasions

Thing is, Son and Kane are players with so little ego that despite being the best players in the world this season, feel like they wouldn’t even fit into the dynamics at a Barca or Madrid. At Spurs, literally everyone loves them.

Really bizzare that Arteta has chosen this game to open up a bit more.

This is 1 of the 4 games in the league that he could probably justify his tactics.
