Premier League Gameweek 9

Two passes and Liverpool were in, against one of the best defences around (even with injuries). That's the difference when you take your chances. Have to admit, their second equaliser was a thing of beauty

It was even less a foul than West Ham’s ridiculous penalty foul today. You lot are the chosen ones when it comes to referees and their fear of weeks of black armbands and media bollox
There were about three separate fouls in that attack. First the arm in Szoboszlai's neck with the header, then Havertz' handball, and then Havertz pushing TAA in goal while the whistle had already gone anyway. To even call it a "disallowed goal" is ridiculous, I never noticed Arsenal fans had such a calimero complex until I opened Twitter after the game last night.

And even if you will probably argue that the arm in the neck and the push on TAA weren't foul worthy (which is a dubious claim in itself imo), the Havertz handball is a black and white thing - it literally touches him on the arm and he gains an advantage from it.

Our best outfield lineup is probably…

Martinelli / Havertz / Saka
Rice / Partey / Odegaard
Califiori / Gabriel / Saliba/ Timber

And we finished the match with only two of those on the pitch. I’m not hugely surprised we tried to hang on to our lead against Liverpool.
No need for hyperbole. Saliba and Odegaard were big misses, certainly bigger than Alisson and Jota for Liverpool (although you could see Kelleher is much worse in the air). Calafiori might be an upgrade or not but you beat Liverpool comfortably and challenged for the title with White in the team last season. The other five positions will obvouisly change if you make five subs, naturally you won’t have the first 11 on the pitch thereafter. Liverpool had also Chiesa, Elliott and Bradley missing on the bench, possibly others, too. So, yes, Saliba and Odegaard were obviously big misses but other than that no need for this two out of the best eleven hyperbole.

It wasn’t a disallowed goal. The fact that play continued for a few seconds after the ref blew the whistle created the illusion that it could have been given but the ball was technically dead. Calling it disallowed suggests the ref ruled it out. He didn’t.

That’s not the definition of hyperbole… it’s literally what happened, mate. We didn’t make five subs for a laugh (we didn’t make five subs at all, but that’s by the by). Our subs were all either the result of injuries or replacing players who have recently come back from injury and it clearly affected our approach to the game. Nwaneri is 17, Lewis-Skelley is 18 and they have zero PL starts between them.

Apparently our approach at the end of the game was overly negative. I’m disagreeing as I believe we were hampered by the players we had unavailable as the game drew to its conclusion. Therefore, the team that played the final portion of the match is fairly relevant info.

You’re free to think we only missed the presence of Saliba and Odegaard, but that just makes it clear that you don’t really know what you’re talking about.
