Premier League Gameweek 37

I’m not sure it’s actually covered by the rules but I’ve never seen a player sent off after an advantage has been played.

But what does that say about the EPL when top sides are getting close 100 points but can't win the CL?

So a pool player who should have bee sent off, now has a assist.:lol::lol::lol:

Shock and Horror.

Not if the referee allows play to go on and gives the goal. Why is this so hard to understand?

It's not hard to understand. It's the worst handball offense you can commit. The ref made a huge blunder. Should have immediately blown for a pen and sent off Alexander-Arnold. You got super super super lucky there. A disgrace of a call that.

What's up with the Salah masturbation by commentators? Nbc commentator just called him "the Egyptian king" when he scored. :wenger:

They are cheating twats, the amount of decisions they get away with is unbelievable. Come on Newcastle!

The amount of favourable decisions Liverpool get is becoming suspect tbh.

Regardless of the rule, I have no idea how some are arguing that the ref played the advantage - I never saw a signal for a foul from the ref or linesman. The officials seemingly missed the infringement but Newcastle managed to score. Otherwise, I'm certain TAA would have received a card of sorts, whether yellow or red, though probably yellow to avoid the double jeopardy situation (goal and sending off).

When will these cnuts luck run out, although they should be smashing this newcastle side even then they still get lucky.

This Newcastle defense is maybe even worse than ours. It's beyond dreadful.

Double jeopardy can still happen unless you genuinely make a legal attempt to win the ball.

Leicester will be the title decider tomorrow. No way City are dropping points against Brighton

It’s amazing the amount of goals Liverpool score from crosses yet you will hear people on here calling crossing football outdated and how our old school method of crossing football under Sir Alex would apparently not work now.

Does the double jeopardy thing come into this though?

They scored but he committed a deliberate handball to stop a goal. Bit like scything someone down as the last man - you get a pen and they get a yellow.

Should TAA get a yellow had VAR been present?

If they didn't score it would be a red, as it's deliberate

If you scythe someone down and don't make a genuine attempt to get the ball it is still a red card as it is a deliberate action. The handball there is a deliberate action, hence the red for DOGSO.

But because they scored he hasn't denied anything... So it's just a deliberate handball, which is a yellow card

Newcastle defence is getting shredded too easy for there to be much hope here.

Liverpool and City are light years ahead of the rest in the league , they could go another 20 games unbeaten if they did not have to play each other in that run.

Newcastle defenders are absolutely dire. Passing it to Liverpool players again and again.

How many times are you going to try to bring this up?

I just think personally it looks problematic for the English league to have two sides near 100 points and the league hasn't won the CL in 7 years and counting. Just not a good look for the overall league.

That TAA 2nd assist means that both he and Robertson have now beaten the previous all time Premier League assist record for a full back (10) this season.

That is all good, they can break as many records as they like except the record of winning the PL for first time :)

But what does that say about the EPL when top sides are getting close 100 points but can't win the CL?

Given the the PL will likely lead the UEFA coefficients for the second season in a row, I think it says that the English sides are among the elite but that there are other great sides in other leagues. More specifically that the PL has the strongest top 6 but that Spain still has the very best sides in Barca and Real.
