Premier League Gameweek 32-33

Absolutely. There's always been an element of refs shirking big decisions early in games to protect the spectacle or whatever, but it feels like it's gone way too far in recent years. It's impossible to ignore when it impacts a game to such an extent.
I remember Moss getting criticised for spoiling the game when he gave Mane a red card for a high boot on Ederson

No keeper can make a save on every shot, but at this level a keeper is expected to make that save. De Gea makes that save. 2-3 seasons ago Dave was dropping turds, no question about it, but he's making the saves he's expected to make and he's making saves you'd never expect Ramsdale and Raya to make.
I don't keep track off the top of my head but like... He's had his fair share of shit moments this year. That goal during the 4-0 vs Brentford, that moment where he was hugging the post vs Everton..

You can shield the ball only when you have possession of the ball otherwise it's impeding an opponent with contact and is a direct free kick. I think kdb had a right to go for the shot and Partey certainly didn't have possession of the ball.
So again , players who shield the ball either to their keeper or for a goalkick (or vice versa when an attacker does it to win the corner) doesn't by definition have possession of the ball. They still shield it and again, a kick through them results in a free kick to them not the other way.

It doesn't really matter what "the game plan" is. City know how important this match is to their treble dream.

Arteta playing right into Pep's hands. He knew what he was going to do and he's not even tried to surprise him
Naive set up thinking you can outplay City away from home. Pep is the best at what he can do, you can't out play him at his own game. You gotta play on the counter to stand a chance.

Arsenal look like a team that haven't won their last 3 games. They've become more reactive and haven't been able to take control of games. Think the draws have sapped the belief out of the side.

Some lunatics will still be up-in-arms / lament the fact that we're not playing out from the back at every opportunity.
I got pelters in the Ten Hag thread because I suggested we should have stopped playing out from the back for a bit during the Sevilla game until they stopped pressing. Apparently we have to expose our players weaknesses at every opportunity or we're living in the 'short term'

Arsenal have not given themselves up though, and City can't be happy with their efficiency

If City gets the 2nd then the floogate will open and this ends 4,5-0. If Assna manage to hold on to the 70th min or so at 1-0 they may yet manage to shithouse a draw out of this. City had a few games like this this season when they couldn’t find that 2nd then got sucker punched, like against Forest.

What’s the Arsenal game plan here? They are just sitting there with City on cruise control

Hold on until they get some momentum and equalize. then hope for 15 minutes of stoppage time and get a 105th minute goal.

Some good results for us so far with both Brighton and Liverpool drawing. Whole 2nd half still to go though.

Partey’s shooting from outside the box is woeful.

They’re going to do it aren’t they. The treble.

Feck sake.

Someone was going to do it at some point. It's not a surprise it's the team that has invested obscene amounts of (according to the countless charges against them) dirty money, who have hired the best of the best and recruited as such who are on the cusp of it.

Looks like Oliver has decided to favor Arsenal today. Not just the penalty...his way of refereeing is clear
