Premier League Gameweek 31

Genuinely can't believe how well it's working out for Palace so far to sack Vieira and kidnap Woy from the old folks home.
They would've been fine even if they kept Vieira. They sacked him off the back of a nightmare run (which kills confidence) and brought in Hodgson when their fixtures remaining were all pretty much bottom half sides and that's it.

Lampard actually believing he's a top manager?? The guy is shameless in taking all these jobs. But more fool Everton and Chelsea. These frauds really need to park their egos and do a Kompany/Carrick. Those two already have a higher stock than Lampard.

They were barely creating any chances under Vieira, it was getting stale. They’re playing with so much freedom now. Could just be a new manager bounce but it was needed.

I know we joke about this, but genuinely if that was casemiro it would've been a straight red!! Can't believe Kane got away with that one, a deliberate stamp!!

0.58 xG conceded away to Chelsea... Meh. Not a huge deal that.
Forget the stats because it doesn't take into consideration Chelsea getting into good positions and either making the wrong choice or failing to get the shot away

Yeah, watch them give him the gig permanently then sack him by xmas.

Brighton are an absolute joy to watch. What a club. Lost Trossard, Potter, Bissouma and yet they keep improving game by game. They seem to keep finding absolute too noch Bargains in the transfer market. Fair play and nothing but respect for them.

Whoever they have scouting for them in South America, we need to sign them up.

I’m assuming you’ve not watched any of our games this season then.

Why are there so many fans with ridiculous comments like this? Can’t help but continually bash United even when we’re not involved in these matches.

It was only last weekend we set the record for the number of shots in one half of football. We’ve won a cup. We’re in the quarters of EL and semi of FA Cup. EtH has the highest win rate of any manager after 50 games for United. We have beat City and Arsenal. We’ve actually played some very good football at times.
Brighton are quite evidently better at keeping the ball than us and it's because they have better technical players specifically in their midfield, hence why we've been linked with two of their midfielders

Fecking hell, what's up with those Brighton medics, really?

Lampard started his managerial career the exact same way as Carrick: at a Championship club...

Said it in the Mitoma thread, but it’s fecking infuriating the stance both our club and supporters take to signing players when watching a team like Brighton. Balked at Caicedo for 6-10m (essentially nothing for a club like ours), but now we are lining up to pay 10x that amount for him and pray he works out

Because we keep holding onto limited players like McTominay for squad depth or something. There is no place in the team for unproven players, but many for proven to be not good players.

But this Frank Lampard temporary was supposed to be so "perfect" according to many journos. Eegits.

Wait, are people actually seriously arguing that we have more technical players than Brighton? Yes, we definitely have better players and better squad and are higher than them in the league but if you don't think they have better technical players, then you don't know football.

Out of our players, only Shaw and Martial are excellent technically.

Edit: forgot about Eriksen.
Oh good lord. It got worse.

So let me get this straight.

Players who you deem to be NOT technically excellent are:

Casemiro
Bruno
Rashford
Varane
Martinez
Garnacho
Antony

I am speechless.

You don't understand what technically excellent means.

Why is Kepa starting ahead of Mendy as GK if both are fit ?

Caicedo was 5m. We didn't balk beacuse of the price or doubts about his ability, but because the move was too difficult to figure out.

You realize how stupid that sounds? And yes I’m aware we didn’t balk at price, but we also clearly weren’t sure enough to figure it out like Brighton managed, and let a great young prospect (that wanted to join us) just go somewhere else out of pure incompetence

They basically exclusively played top half sides post Christmas, and only really had the 1 truly shit game vs Spurs (and Fulham where they got 2 first half Reds), other than that never lost by more than 1 goal, had a good chunk of decent draws, against tough teams... It is just far easier to play Leicester and Southampton than it is to play Arsenal, Brighton, city, United, Newcastle, Liverpool, brentford.. etc. Hell their underlying stats in most of these games weren't even that bad. It was purely a nightmare schedule that they panicked on when in reality, they were doing relatively OK overall, especially to expectations and were never going to actually be in danger.

Really hope Chelsea get dragged into the relegation battle. Everyone down there is getting points.
