Premier League Gameweek 3

No VAR red card? Wtf?

Very clear error. It's a clear goalscoring opportunity and Martial taken down outside the box.

Zaha just took young's dignity but refused to throw it into the trash

He will be hoping a bird shit in his mouth so we don't see those replays again

And now wan bissaka loses his dignity as well

Don’t understand why James is playing in this type of game for United. Said it before he signed that he will not offer much against deep sides. Much better suited to running into space which he won’t get in these type of games. As much as many slate him, having Mata or someone is a better option in a game like this. Options are pretty limited though I guess.

"Ball isn't moving towards the goal"

It's bullshit, but refs are consistent in this at least

VAR ref must be blind, ball was going towards goal, he would have been clean through.

Why bother having VAR if can't use it properly. As bad as the foul on Rodrigo not given in City game last week.

Edit: Even BBC text are saying it's a red. Totally inexplicable not given with VAR. This is what annoys me watching the premier league. Just abysmal refereeing...

I agree, but this is a fairly standard decision. Refs really don't want to send players off if they can help it. Here Martial isn't moving directly towards the goal but is going slightly wide=enough leeway to avoid red card, even though it's a bullshit call and they know it

Pogba has gone from playing in a midfield with Pirlo and Vidal to McTominay and Lingard

You think that's bad? @P-Ro thinks he's the next coming of Beckenbauer
He'll probably be better. Imagine creating a defender with the ball playing ability of Herr Franz and the steeliness of a Baressi. Then add Garrincha-like trickery and what do you get? Kurt Happy Zouma.

How many manager's are part of the teams name? As though he is more important than Chelsea.
They’ve not officially renamed Chelsea football club mate. It’s just a common phrase used to define an era in which the named manager is in charge. They’ll stop using it in a few months

Rewound to have a look again.

He's just on line with side of the D. Ball rolls straight on towards the goal. it's a red card 8 days a week. For me in La liga that would definitely be upgraded to a red.

Encouraging defenders to hack strikers down outside the box with descisions like this.

The red card in the Brighton match was disgusting.
Even his teammate was shocked, he's got to get at least 5 games for that. Disgusting assault.

And people wonder why he wants out. That was a rough half of football.

That Brighton tackle was an absolute shocker, just saw it. Ouch.

Anyone watching BT sport? I usually watch Soccer Saturday but just kinda left this on after the Chelsea game finished.

They seem to employ a lot of attractive young female reporters. That's what Sky Sports used to do (but don't seem to anymore).

Sky Sports have only recently (last 5 yrs ish) had females reporting updates from around the grounds.

And a stonewall penalty denied united :lol::lol:

Fecking hell

What the feck is the point of VAR?

That's as blatant a pullback as you can get

 VAR in the premier league is pointless they just agree with whatever the ref said. Fecking blatantly a penalty.

You won't see a clearer foul than that. Its a rugby tackle. Wtf is going on in this game?

Sorry to rain on the VAR parade, but Martial was grabbed outside the box so no penalty. The foul is considered where the contact is first made, not ended/player falls down.

Also when Martial was grabbed, he had his back to goal. He later turned and ran towards goal after the foul began. So no red card either as he wasnt initially pulled back when running at goal.

Its clearly a foul and a yellow, thats where the ref messed up. Not a red or a pen though. I think thats why VAR didn't bring it back, they only do that if its a pen/red card.
