Premier League Gameweek 24 (20th - 22nd Jan 2018)

Coutinho was covering for all that. Now all that will be exposed on facing a proper defensive block.
Not for all. They have struggled to win these games with Coutinho, because there is only so much one man can do, when the tactics and the whole lineup are so wrong. It also hurts that Lallana is not 100% up to speed, and they even miss the offensive input of the tactical defensive doofus Moreno.

But just the last ten minutes with Ings and VVD playing target man were more dangerous than the whole game. When a team stays this deep, you need to make runs, you need to put balls into dangerous areas and commit men forward to win second balls. You need to create havoc to score scrappy goals. You know how I´d describe such a style: AGGRESSIVE HEAVY METAL.

What did Liverpool do? Pass its sideways in midfield 40 metres from goal for ten minutes, have the FBs stay back and then ask three players (who thrive in space) to break down eight defenders by themselves. You know what I´d call that? MEASURED SOPHISTICATED CLASSIC MUSIC.

Maybe Klopp should think about his own football analogies.

Did I really just see a comment in here indicating that even the most biased Spurs fan thinks Dele Alli is better than Paul Pogba? Dele Alli?! Jesus wept.

Pogba can do things with a ball that Dele Alli couldn't even do on Fifa.

I believe Son scored more than Neymar last season. I know who I'd want in my team.
On rawk henderson is better than pogba so...

That would be true if he didn’t also pick up a boatload of individual recognition, including multiple individual awards at domestic, European and international level, on top of the medals.

The way you go on you’d think Pogba was a bit part player in that Juventus side. In fact he was one of their most important players. It was embarrassingly obvious when you were making these arguments last year that you’d very likely only seen Pogba play a handful of times (for France). And even then you probably only checked his performance on WhoScored for goals and assists.

Meanwhile Alli - stagnation, no European or international recognition, and bleak situation at club level. The upside for you is that he’s playing so poorly and so lacking in maturity, that even if Spurs only get EL football (which seems likely), other clubs are unlikely to pursue him extensively.

You don't appear to realise that Alli has been voted PFA Young Player of the Year for the last two seasons running. And this in the world's toughest league, not like Pogba, playing for a dominant team in an inferior Italian league. He also happens to be 3 years younger than Pogba, which has given Pogba that much more time to pick up awards.

No international recognition? He's recently put Real Madrid to the sword, has broken through into the England senior team and is certain to be picked for the World Cup squad.

As for the rest, it's just plain dumb to describe as "stagnating" a 21 year-old who has won the above-named award twice in the last 2 seasons and is now playing the CL.

I keep hearing how great Liverpool's been this season yet we're 6 points ahead :)

I think Keita can solve their midfield issues to some extent next season, but not 100% as they will be still lacking any creative player upfront who can open these defensive blocks.

I agree on your opinion on Klopp analogies. His system is goon on the eye when it clicks in some games, but it's completely flawed and he will never win anything with it.

Who do you think will get his best years?

Liverpool lost. Only just noticed. Too busy with the Sanchez unveiling. :D

Someone needs to gif that Lallana missed chance and focus on VVD. He was celebrating arms outstretched before Firmino had even headed the ball

This was his "was goal" moment.:lol:

@GifLord :D

If his best years are (say) 24 - 28, that's too far away for me to predict.

So you’ve come around to the idea he might not be with you after a couple more seasons?

Kane too? Poch?

Let it out man , let it all out ! In a couple of months you will be living your best life ever - take it one day at a time and always stay busy.
See, RedCafe has really cheered me up tonight.

Thanks so much to you and everyone for the lovely words and support.

Of course I realise Alli has won those awards. That's why I highlighted how Pogba had also received European and International recognition, and yes, this was at Alli's age so relative experience is irrelevant. But my point wasn't really about Dele Alli, it was about you trying to dismiss Pogba's achievements as team achievements. He was recognised individually.

Being picked for England is no great shakes and everyone has scored against Real this season - they're a shambles.

Whether you like it or not, Dele Alli likely won't receive anywhere near the same recognition until he wins some medals. You can put it down to team achievements all you like, but the fact is the best players find themselves at clubs who win things (and they become a critical element to that success). Maybe harsh to say he's stagnating, but he's been shit this season.

Also I'm sure you denigrating Juve and Serie A wont come back to bite you on the arse at all, with a CL tie against them just around the corner.

Kane too? Poch?

Age 24 is three more seasons away, not "a couple". If you can predict that far ahead then good luck to you.

Is Mourinho going to be at United in 3 years time? Is de Gea? How about half your squad?

He’s 22 at the end of this season so “after a couple more seasons” would put him at 24.

Mourinho won’t be here in three years, De Gea will. Not worried about anything to be honest, we’re an established club with the infrastructure to keep attracting top managers and top players.

Spurs are enjoying a few golden years while winning nothing. It’s a matter of time before Poch moves on and the house of cards collapse. Fun for the neutral though, I quite like watching Son and Kane but it’ll be even more fun watching them leave one by one

I rather think that having 22 England caps by the age of 21 - and becoming quite established in the England starting XI - is fairly remarkable.

It's hardly "denigrating" Juve to call them the dominant Italian team in recent years. And to say that Serie A is a weaker league than the Prem is not an outrageous opinion.

You seem confident that Juve will beat Spurs over the two legs. Fair enough. I see it as tough challenge that could go either way ... but I'm sure there are several teams that Juve would have preferred to be drawn against.

Every fecking year we give these rock bottom clubs 3 points to boost themselves after the week of a big result. Did it with Swansea at Anfield last year, and Aston Villa a lot too.

Yes, because Klopp's Liverpool win everything in sight. Definitely winning the sum zero of zero / zero again..

Lad's it the scouse.

Thanks GIF - to busy being happy at us signin Sanchez, the bitters being pissed off , the scouse being humiliated by possibly the worst team in the league since the bitters prior to arab money - on top of that - Klopp pissed off.

What a week.

That was probably for the best, wasn't it?

And you just know Liverpool will lose some bog standard game in the coming weeks.

^ Post Pool-City match last week.

Almost like clockwork. I say almost, because I said "coming weeks" instead of "next week."
