Premier League Gameweek 23 (13th - 15th Jan 2018)

Why couldn't both teams lose ffs?
Exactly.
Watching that, makes it even more irritating that United put in such a timid and powder-puff performance at home to City.
Liverpool at least get to be Kings For a Day with the media after that and will keep City off the No1 media darlings spot for a week anyway.
Had City come back to 4-4 or even won, I think they might well have gone unbeaten the rest of the PL season.

Yeah I thought we deserved that win. We’re still a mess at the back organisationally though. Your goals were so avoidable from our point of view. De Bruyne is scary when he’s running at a defence.

Robertson or Chamberlain for MOTM.

This January is much better than last seasons!

Thought the first half you shaded it and maybe deserved to be ahead. 2nd half for 35 minutes you were excellent until you nearly crapped the bed. Agree on the MotM choices, the Ox for me is the winner. Scored the first goal and really set you guys up for that confident performance after the break. Robertson done really well with Raheem but struggled a bit with Bernardo (understandable as he was tired vs a fully rested player).

Hahahaha

And then they will drop easy points against the bottom ten when you least expect them to do so.

A bit like United then. The only difference is you don't twat big teams.

* Edit * You rarely attack big teams.

So Wenger sold the Ox to Liverpool to just protect their only golden trophy.

We lost to two lucky set piece goals against City. It could happen. We have a manager who doesn't want to attack top teams, and prefers to defend first. His way could have also worked, even though i don't like it. Its frustrating, but that's the price for having Jose as your manager. Klopp on the other hand, will have his team play football like today - but they will drop silly points through the season. They are on the same points as us right now, but that's more coz we seemed to have thrown in the towel after the City loss, till the team realized that we now need to fight to hold on to second place.

Gotta pick your fights, when you get older. Line-up against Bournemouth also looked like he´s resting players for the Europa League already.

Sadly I missed all but the last minutes. Basically I only witnessed Aguero missing the opportunity of an extra time equalizer.

Typical stupid fans on here celebrating a Liverpool win. It's way more likely Liverpool will catch us than we catch City.

Thats because you worry about top 4 ala proper Arsenal mode, some maybe still have their eyes on PL title, maybe thats their goal regardless of points gap of City.

There was a point where Robertson was closing down. The city defence like a headless chicken at 4-1. The Liverpool supporters were loving it.

Then they look a bit tired in the last ten minutes and nearly chuck it away like they did at Arsenal. That's where Klopp's management is suspect for me. Take the 4-1and slow the game down, it's bizarre.

Terrible result. Only positive is Liverpool conceding those late goals.
I don't know, @Damien - might not turn out to be a bad result at all. Will have shagged both teams out, both conceded a bunch of goals, don't think Dippers have this in them every day, and their defence is still crap. Will be interesting to see the effect of today on City. Tbh, don't think it will make much of a difference, unless of course they were to lose again.

Rank stupidity. I'm not entirely sure we're ever going to fix it,just seems like we want to have a side capable of scoring with every attack in a quite literal sense.
You'll fix it by next season. Part of the problem now is you're still relying on unreliable players, and they know it

Anyone who wanted the dippers to win that game (even though we needed city to lose) obviously didn't grow up in the 80's.

Liverpool's pressing is unsustainable for 90 minutes. They come flying out of the blocks in the first 20 minutes or so of each half and then start to tire from there on. If you weather that 40 minute storm you have another 50 minutes to beat them.

Really?....They have lost 2 matches this season..

Fantastic result for us. City no longer have that invincible record to give them that extra push in their matches. They're definitely going to lose more games this season.

A win tomorrow and we're only twelve points behind. And if we add Sanchez to the squad, then we're well in this.
I am with you on this one, poster person.

He substituted Can for Milner. That's when they started to lose the grip on the match.

Not really. United gets hammered by everyone either way. Liverpool's football is the best thing that happened to mankind since the invention of the tooth pick. And Klopp is the world's best manager after Pep.

I remember hearing it said by some pundit in the eighties that when Italy prepared for a big tournament they always took the long view. They didnt use tactics that used up all their gas in the qualifiying rounds, or attracted too much injuries. Other teams played like evry game was a semi final, you know? And the Gegenpress idea is designed for semi finals and not a long wearing season with no winter break, or at least that what it seems to me. The thought crossed my mind, looking at this game today, could it be that a slower, more measured tactical approach will eventually pay dividends? Or will these two teams have the ability/motivation to press and run like this in the last quarter of the season?

Great result for us..

Now that city have lost the invincibles bullshit is gone out the window and we don't have to listen to it anymore.

Also the fact they have lost is bound to have a knock on effect on the players in that some games where they have pulled out the draw the fight may not be in them as much to do so any may get complacent being 15(12 hopefully) points ahead.

Your football is complete shite . Admit it.

Just shows that we weren't stupid for being conservative against Liverpool and we should have went at City's cheeks.

One would think he didn't watch the match and is relying on cliched BS
