Premier League Gameweek 23 (13th - 15th Jan 2018)

Joe Gomez being caught out at the back for the 88848848484 time this season.
Top prospect but he's cost us a hell of a lot of goals this season. Clyne isn't the best going forward but defensively he's sound.

Really poor from Gomez and Karius for the goal. As usual, our general good play is undone by a moment of absolutely shiteness. Otherwise, was a really good first half. Oxlade-Chamberlain is a really good player.

Liverpool the better team but the game is going better for us then I thought it would after the first few minutes.

60% of the ball for us means if the same again 2nd half, Liverpool should tire late on.
Only 2 shots on target each. Seems a more even game than most on here are suggesting.

Worries are Ederson is looking shaky today (might be better 2nd half with the wind on his back) as is Danilo and Stones so far. We're also 2nd to nearly every breaking ball.

For Liverpool that's a goal you should never be conceding but that's Liverpool all over.

Hopefully we LVG out the 2nd half and look for Pool to shoot themselves in the foot at some stage.

All in all the same as the first game before the sending off (and Liverpool scoring).

I hope people who slate Jose for demanding our attackers must always track back are watching this City side.

This isn't a novel concept nor earth-shattering. Didn't Giggs and Becks track back? Were we parking buses then? Jose doesn't allow his forward players enough freedom or guidance. Give Pep Martial and Rashford and they'd be better THAN Sane and Sterling.

It's gonna be incredibly depressing when we play City and play the Mourinho way.

This should wake up everyone and show them the way to counter Pep's tactics but it won't.

I didn't think it would work but City haven't been great, Silva missing is massive in fairness and they've still scored though.

Intriguing game, not many chances in it, Liverpool have had some good build-up but lack that finishing touch. I'd like a Liverpool win as awkward as that is to say, a draw is a good result for City and no good at all for us. League has probably gone anyway, but you know.

That's brutal on Karius to blame it on him - Sane as in position to shoot at the entire net and he hit that ball with fecking venom, right inside the near post.
It was near post, went through him more than anything. He has to save it!

Sane was pretty close and it was a thunderbolt. Maybe you can argue about Karius positioning, so that the ball basically hits him (rather than actively saving it), but from the camera behind the goal it seems near impossible to get his hands there. Gomez shouldn´t have gone for the ball on the long cross and nothing happens. Then he spun around like a drunk bowling pin right before the goal-scoring shot, too. Gomez had two opportunities to clear the ball with better awareness and positioning.

I like how Pep is going for diagonal balls where the space is. You know you cant outpass them in centre so you go for diagonal long balls.

Remember LVG talking about this. Old man was indeed right tactically in big games

The shot wasn't really that hard, just seemed so because there was no run up. Keeper should have 100% saved it, instead he opted for an awkward double fist lunge, and was also half a second late to react as well.

Liverpool have been great but Salah and Firmino look somewhat muted. Sane has no joy on Walker's side, maybe he should switch to Danilo?

Ox is their best player today, not sure City have an answer for him.

Walker has done a decent job on Mane too, whenever Mane has gotten into good positions he seems to have messed it up somehow.

So far, de Bruyne & Agüero have been poor af. Agüero getting outmuscled and KdB dilly dallying in the ball allowing the ball to be taken away.
City at last looking leggy. Great. Fecking great. Better they lose today and get even more tired.

Every goal at the near post is not a feck up by the keeper. The power on it was insane.

Not all of them but this one was. You can usually tell from a goalies reaction, he knows he should've kept that out.

Shay Given says it was an error, technically his hands were too low and that hindered him in getting to the ball.

Mane has been gash. That touch when Firmino played him through earlier was something you’d see from Smalling.

But we don’t want the scousers breathing down our necks. The league’s gone, let’s accept it and concentrate on second

You can hardly call us biased. Liverpool have been much the better team.

Over the years, my hate for Man City has risen exponentially.

They are so fecking annoying like cockroaches, just couldn't get the feck out of here because they are funded by oil.

Why are folks bothered by City scoring? Surely, no one wants a Liverpool win?
Yeah I don't get it, also Sane scoring is a nice bonus, knowing Pep is reactionary prick it may have reduced a need for Sanchez in his eyes.
