Premier League Gameweek 14

Southamp simply can't get the ball back to mount any attacks, thats what separates a possession based team against a counter attacking one! When leading narrowly, it means you can see out games rather than backs against the wall i.e. Thursday night!
They have dropped more points than us so far from winning positions.

Meh, neither City nor Southampton were impressive today. All city players look out of form, while Southampton has no final pass to create clear cut chances through the middle, and when they did with crosses they didn't even take a shot.

Southampton looked good in defense and in midfield but not so threatening with all that possession. City created some good chances while Soton were stretched trying to press them.

Another disgraceful performance. Can't imagine how City make Top4 playing like this.
Much better 2nd half from us but we have to take our chances. Too many guilt edged opportunities fecked up today 2nd half. Sterling needs to sort himself out big time.

The difference between how clinical Liverpool are in comparison to us is insane.
It's weird to see but City supporters are now generally more critical of their team than the Caf.

While City have been boring to watch and underwhelming this year, I think they'll pick up steam throughout the year.

Not going to plan so far this weekend, big results for both Liverpool and City. Hopefully Everton will give us AFTV to cheer

Don't get me wrong, I still have faith we'll put it right but we could very easily have dropped points again today because of the horrible final ball and how much we messed up opportunities. We have to be more clinical if we're sticking with this defensive system. Liverpool scored 7 times from 8 chances today. We had Bernardo crossing the ball when he's 7 yards out 1 v 1 against the keeper.

Its a big issue but mainly confidence at the minute, I think if we put in 2 or 3 games where we take our chances we'll be fine.

To put our issues in comparison I read we had a better xG and xGA vs West Brom than Liverpool vs Palace but I don't know how true that is. We drew and they won 7-0! Just checked and the gap between xG and xA was the same in both games.

Good news for our game tomorrow. We’d be a lot more likely to drop points if there was a chance to gain ground on our rivals.

Klopp gives a smiling Woy a tap on the back as the game ends, as if to say "thanks for playing the way I like and into our hands, buddy".

No doubt he'll be back to his cheery, charismatic self in the post-match interview.

Yeah doesn't help when teams do that

Nah we need Arsenal to at least get a point in this game. We have all year for AFTV after that dont you worry at all, Arsenal will deliver laughs for sure, we just need them to nick a point or two from our competitors from time to time.

As for City vs Southampton when Ings got injured the game was over. Southampton was shocking offensively and that dude Redmons, not sure I've ever seen anyone play a worse game at any level, genuinely shocking.
Had two good opportunities but he actually failed to kick the ball on both occasions.

Where is Auba tonight?

He's erm....(thinks quickly) got a ....small muscular injury.

Course he has mate. He didn't fancy it did he.

That Arse lineup.... Deary me
Never seen them with a squad as poor in 25 years. No matter the manager they are midtable side. Their best player is a kid named Saka nobody knew about not long ago...

Five years at the club, complete buy-in from everyone at the club, squad fine-tuned and unbelievably well-coached.

That’s why Liverpool are so formidable. Other clubs not in the same place.

Yeah does help that your board actually cares about success on the pitch whereas ours just want to make money and take their cut

Even if they don't it means we can then overtake them with a win. So it's a no lose really.

Don't know if Arsenal will win today, but I think they might play better without Aubameyang. He's been killing their attacks the whole season due to his lack of dribbling and vision. Everton's team looks quite awful so think Arse actually has a decent chance

They've just kept clean sheets v Chelsea and Leicester so this is actually their best defensive run of the season. Thought they might've put Coleman back in at RB though.

I just look at Arsenal 11 and just think it's mid table quality. Nketiah runs around a lot but haven't seen anything at prem level to suggest he's going to make it, think Arsenal would've sent him on loan if Martinelli hadn't got that bad injury (back on the bench tonight).

Yeah horrendous start especially seeing that absolute hammering dished out by the scousers

Yep, can't make a silk purse with that squad. Which is probably hard on Arteta, who probably knows that and wants a revamp.

This has the makings of a terrible match. Both team sheets look average and it's offered nothing so far.

Think Arsenal will win this. They have to turn it around eventually right?

I do fancy Arsenal to get a result here. Everton have been very passive so far.

That's Arsenal playing for a 0-0 out of the window early on.

Certain defeat now.
