Premier League Gameweek 10

It's mad how Wolves allocate practically one whole side of the stadium to away fans, and the side that's always on telly too. Makes it look like they're the away team!

Almost forgot Zinchenko existed he's so far down the pecking order (he just came on). Could be a decent pickup for a few teams in the near future. Suspect he could be had quite cheaply.
It doesn't feel that long ago that people were trying to suggest Pep had messed up selling them Zinky and Jesus.
Not heard anyone say anything similar for a long time.

Could’ve done with Ipswich and Wolves wins today in terms of maintaining interest at the bottom. Could end up with another boring relegation fight

So worldclass they look better this season without him. From a guy who has just strolled in to a league.

It's been a fairly similar start this season for Liverpool compared to last. The acid test will be the last 8 games or so which is when it fell apart last season for Klopp.

Games gone limp again. They tried to thumb in a softy for a while, but it's gone.

Awful game of football.

Personally, I think that's a touch harsh.

Palace player is entitled to go for the loose ball, Sa gets there first but drops it, wasn't much of a foul there for me.

Yes, everyone realised Gabriel Jesus can't finish his dinner.

Zinchenko though, could see someone taking a punt. Far from a key member or their defence last season but did start a smidge over half the games in the league for the tightest defence. Can do the inverted full back thing which is trendy.

Arsenal paid £30m, out of favour with a lot of options in his position, 1 year left on his contract next summer apparently. If I was a buying club would think he could be had for a fair bit less than they paid given the circumstances. £20m? £15m?

He's not for United for a number of reasons. We're targetting younger players and I don't know how he'd be as wing back at all now we've gone for Amorim. If we didn't have those age concerns and were still playing a back 4 then maybe as a backup. I've given up on Malacia and am not a long way from there with Shaw as well.

Cope. He is worldclass and on the same level as Pep and Fergie

He's quite clearly a level below Fergie and Pep. He's a similar level to Wenger and Mourinhio but I'd rate him below both of those.

A couple of league titles and a champions league in his career, it's a good haul but he's hardly one of the all time great managers.

A couple ?
He won one in Covid!

The greatest trick Klopp ever pulled, was convincing the world he was a world class manager. He got Fecking lucky with Salah and VVD. End of!

He is world class, unlike Pep who just tricked everyone in to thinking he was by only managing clubs with top squads, and massive transfer budgets.

Ifs and buts but his haul would be far higher if city weren't a thing. Can't blame him for leaving either must have been exhausting battling the pep city machine every year

Yeah, he turned a shite Liverpool side into a title winner and CL winner after leading the underdog in the Bundesliga (compared to Bayern) to back to back titles. Clearly World Class despite being a massive cock.

It should be illegal to watch football, if you ever say that Jürgen Klopp isn't World Class.

Slot equalling the great master Klopp’s PL title haul in his first season would be funny I suppose? Trying to look at teeny tiny crumbs of comfort.

Even if you dislike the respective coaches, what about at least some middle ground?

Arsenal lost, citeh lost, Villa and Spurs yet to play.

If we can find a way to take twelve points from the Chelsea match we'll be right up there.

It’s just a jest. This place is just getting tense knowing what just might be on the horizon. You will be reading a lot more insane statements in the coming weeks and months if the table stays this way.

We'll read a lot more insane statements whatever happens. Insane statements are the norm.

It blows my mind how every time a team gets a result against us they follow it up with a shite result. Feck off West Ham.

West Ham have been shite all season, the reason they beat us is because we are even more shite, nothing more to it.

Not strictly true. There’s also Michael Oliver’s little intervention.

Great win for Bournemouth last night (in my time zone). I don’t know about everyone else’s commentary. But last night I got so tired of hearing the commentator making excuses for city. He must have said “city players are running on fumes” about half a dozen times. They had a very strong starting team albeit with few options off the bench. Deal with it.

Bournemouth were magnificent especially Semenyo. Think he’ll end up at a really big club.

Yeah but I mean, if you play like we did in every game you’re always bound to fall apart eventually. They were well on the front foot after we equalised. But yes, Oliver being a Cnut didn’t help.

Liverpool finished second and were a slip away from wining the title, a few months before Klopp took over. People always forget this.

Seems like you've forgotten too as that was the season before. The season before Klopp took over they finished 6th.

That 2nd place finish is because Luis Suarez was a man possessed. Not because they were a competent football team.

I guess 18 months can be considered “a few”

@BigRedSwede

Judging by your comment I'm guessing you're under the age of about 25 so let me enlighten you

Wenger between 97 and 2005 never finished any lower than 2nd in the league. If it wasn't for us Wenger would have won 8 consecutive league titles.

Jose won the CL with PORTO and a treble with Inter. Produced one of the most dominant PL teams ever with Chelsea. Won the league with Real in an era where Barca were dominating it.

Oh and Klopp was booted from Dortumund mid season by "mutual consent".

Difference being Klopp managed against the most dominant force the league has ever seen since the Liverpool 80s .An impossible task against a team owned by an oil state but he still managed to be competitive.
