Premier League Festive Season

I can't imagine Bruce surviving the season with Newcastle. The quality of football isn't good enough and they don't look like improving. All the teams above them and around them play better football than them. Think he can count himself lucky that the crowds aren't back, and they're limited if they are. They'd be calling for his head.

Anyone criticising Bielsa should ask Newcastle fans how they feel watching this.

Should have scored

Cancelo: So Pep am I playing RB? no.10?
Pep: Yes.

Gundogan is no Silva but him pushing forward a bit helps City in the attacking phase

He's been miles better this season. Throwing himself into tackles too, dunno whats changed for him but our most improved player along with Cancelo. All the shit I threw at him the last two years, can't say a negative thing about him this season.

Think Wilder's been poor with his team selection here - Bogle had a cracking match last game against Brighton and yet can't even get off the bench.

Mcgoldrick instead of Mousset makes no sense either since they're barely getting near Evertons box.

I really think he should try playing 4 at the back, the back 5 opposition teams can null by having players hug the touchline, and it means Sheffield create little and have no midfield. It worked last season because they barely conceded any and got 1 goal victories, but this season with injuries and a downgrade in GK they concede more that its not really worth playing like that.

City finally finding some form to challenge for the title or does it only look temporary?

Haven't been paying attention.. when did Yagielka change his name back to Jagielka?

Struggling to take chances still, we've played this well all season. In the bigger games we'll need to be much more clinical. No major difference between this and West Brom game that finished 1-1.

They have a couple of hardish games before Liverpool face United on the 16th Jan - City have Chelsea and Everton before that. I can only see the gap getting wider before then.

Ridiculous. Everton will finish the weekend second in the table by end of December at least 4 points off the top. I have seen it all.

If Villa win their games in hand they are 3 points off the top.

This is the kind of game Everton would normally drop points in. Ancelotti is doing a good job with what he has.

Frustrating but only got ourselves to blame for not being on 29 points too. Needed to manage that lead better than we did
We’ve got a game in hand on all above us still. League position really isn’t indicative of a great deal anyway at this stage. Not when we’re taking about being 4th or 2nd.

Very skillfully managed by Ancelotti. I think they will beat City on Monday. City play good football in possession but continue to look laboured and going through the motions without the ball. They lack intensity.
