Premier League Festive Season

At first I wanted City to win it to keep pressure on liverpool. But after watching 45 + 7 minutes of Sterling, I want Wolves to win this game. Anyone else can’t stand the way he runs, walks, and pretty much anything he does on the pitch?

2-1 Wolves please

Just in case you haven't got the message the first 8 million times there was Niko Rosberg telling you not to drink and drive!

That doesn't make this one not a foul.
I can't argue with the view that it's a foul by the letter of the law. My stance is that football has become soft as feck since VAR has enforced the letter of the law.

Penalties like that wouldn't have been given pre VAR, shown by Atkinson not giving it. If VAR is here to stay, the rules need amending imo, to return football to the contact sport we all know and love. It's like basketball rules of contact being enforced these days.

You're not in Mahrez's head so you can't just assume he wasn't impeded enough. Mahrez beat the defender and he stood on his foot from behind = foul.

You should ignore his theatrics. That's only to draw attention to the ref he was fouled. They wouldn't have given it if he stayed on his feet, which is wrong and why it happens.

I disagree - wasn't a foul from behind, it was just a coming together.

If that was given against AWB this forum would be up in arms.

Because it benefits City, who can (theoretically) stop the vermin from winning #19, all of you are Monday quarterbacking.

Penalty was bullshit, and the encroachment was even a bigger bullshit.

That's a proper soppy penalty.

Had VAR not given it, the VAR fan boys would be supporting that decision too.

It's probably 50/50, at a push. I don't think Mahrez deserves much because of the acting, tbh.

Holy shit. That is bullshit.

It's a natural evolution of the sport though. I know we like the physical aspect of it here, but the game has been 'soft' in Europe for a decade now.

So many people here who've never had their foot stomped on as they were walking i see

2-0

Sterling makes it 2

Pathetic from Wolves but you always knew City had that in them. De Bruyne at the centre of it all obviously.

Did you think Albrighton's foul on Mane was a pen?
Bit different here. Mane clearly cut across the defender to engineer the contact. Here Bernardo is running forward and about to cross the ball when impeded. When you get your foot trodden on in that scenario it’s hard to stay on your feet. The only area of doubt for me was Bernardo does cut slightly into Dendoncker’s path. It’s nowhere near as blatant as Mane’s sidestep but makes the decision more grey than it could have been.

Ignoring Liverpool, Wolves are a point behind us. Surely you'd want them to drop points so they don't go ahead?
