Premier League 25/1/25 - 26/1/25

Now if Arse draw/lose we can see a right meltdown from TY about refs, he'll explode

never red, maybe Oliver wants to the pl to be officially be won today, why bother with a title race

Arsenal fans are prone to overreaction when there is no reason to. Now they have a reason, they're going to go insane.

Love to see the Arsenal fans crying wkwkwk. But it is hilarious to see how it is the same Oliver who blatantly ignored Kovacic's ankle breaker on Odegaard last season yet send off an Arsenal player today for something like that. You can't make this up.

Michael Oliver, the attention seeker,I am shocked that he gave a red card, okay it can happen.I am more shocked that VAR didn't 'see' any obvious and clear error.

To be honest, it's harsh, but I also get frustrated at the way tactical fouls are used to risk only a yellow when denying a possible high chance opportunity on the break.

Liverpool, city and arsenal all been at it for years

I’m one who believes blatant cynical fouls should be punishable by reds, but until they apply that across the board, this is pretty horrendous reffing.

Can’t it be more for a dangerous tackle deliberately targeting the ankle rather than a cynical foul? Because if it’s the latter, a red from that position is ridiculous.

Our 4th red card.

Saliba one was fair but that was a VAR overturn.
Rice was very very harsh.
Trossard and MLS have been bizzare red cards.
8-9 points down the drain.

If that was Casemiro, he’d have been banned for 12 months and maybe given a death sentence.

So Lewis-Skellys lucky he only got red carded in that respect :+1:

Massive shame
Imagine being this salty about a game you fecking won.
In the grand scheme of things, this decision don't matter that much, it justs confirms that Oliver is England's biggest cnut.
But carry on if that soothes the pain your own club is inflicting upon your soul

Just seen the different angle and he has gone in shin high with his studs to be fair.
Only seen it twice, but studs looked down and looked like standard yellow.

It's funny, but shite reffing and Arteta will cry so much they'll get every decision their way for months after this.

Its a bit harsh but not outrageous IMO.

Our red cards this season are just comical. The Saliba one was ok, the rest are a joke. This is the dumbest one yet.

Tell you what if we don’t have a Swedish striker next season I’ll be very upset

Any news about Garnacho to Chelsea boss ? Rashford ? Casemiro ? Onana ? Got enough to get that 20y old left back from fecking Lecce ? I can lend you 50£ if you promise to give it back.

I'm going to file this under "if I was in charge of football, this should be a red card"...

But I would have thought that was a 100% yellow card every day of the week under the current laws.

it's an outrageous decision, if that was given against us, i'd be fuming, Even the clip you put up there's barely anything to it, he just went to try and tackle and got clipped by the studs without barely any force. it's a yellow

I thought it was for stopping a clear goalscoring chance which I thought might make sense. Reading it's for "serious foul play" makes no fecking sense.

There’s no way that’s a red. Shameful reffing as usual. Standard is in the mud.

The crazy thing is that Kovacic's wasn't even deemed a yellow card. Oliver is a terrible, self-obsessed referee.

Down the drain? I forgot you can’t beat Wolves with 10 men

Its never in a million years a straight red. Its a cynical foul, but one you see every week and dont bat an eyelid. The referees are there to control the game, not ruin it.
