Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

Arsenal will be kicking themselves if they don't get a striker.
All I ever hear their fans do is moan about how they nearly did this or that, or should’ve won this, or could’ve signed so and so.

Should’ve won the league in 2016, should’ve won back to back titles in the last 2 years, would’ve beat United if they had a striker*…

*Which never much sense. How is it anybody else’s fault that Kai havertz can’t finish his dinner? All you’re really saying is ‘we’d have won that if we had better players’ - which everyone else can say about every game ever!

Looking at the table it’s going to be hard for us to move further up the table even if we win a few games. Teams like West Ham will start winning again now

A ST would help them but let’s not pretend that’s all they need. City won the league with Jesus starting and even without playing a ST sometimes. They’ve dropped points with a ST.

There's a good chance both of them do it, to be honest. Don't want to jinx it but Liverpool have been wobbling off late and unlike March last year, their form has gone off earlier this time.
I don’t want to say this is the start of some great downfall or anything, but a lot of people earlier in the season spotted that Liverpool weren’t all that good, just clinical. Which can’t last forever.

Van Dijk has developed a nasty habit of pushing and shoving any opposition player he comes into contact with once the ball has left their immediate vicinity. The faux hard-man act really doesn’t suit him. I’d love for Zlatan, Drogba, Shearer, Cantona, Hughes and the like to be still active. They’d sort the arrogant twat out good and proper.

Joe Jordan :nervous:

It’s no coincidence in my mind that Van Dijk becoming the world best defender happened to coincide with the biggest dearth of centre forwards in living memory.

They’ve beaten pretty much every team in front of them except the team there loosing to tonight. And drew a few. What goes for them is the fact they rarely ever pick up long term injuries to their best players. They must have some of the best fitness coaches and doctors in the league.

He's overrated as hell. He's not as good as we are told by the pundits. He's a grade A twat too.

Physical players they are but you also need a bit of a bastard so its Diego Costa for me.

Also the way the refs hand them penalties and points helps.

They might have been top class till December but they've been very inconsistent since. This will be the 4th game in 7 league matches where they drop points and ofcourse that loss to Spurs. Arsenal need to stop feeling sorry for themselves, give themselves a kick up their arse and go on a run. The title is there for the taking.

He's one of the most faux hard-men Ive seen in the league. There's been a few around in recent years, the current Newcastle crop has plenty, but would get absolutely battered by most half decent midfields of the 90s and 00s.

Really hope Brentford hold on. Or nick it. A season without city in the CL would be fun to watch and will be a test to see how many players want to jump ship in the summer

Crouch reckons he’s the best he’s ever seen.

I’d respond teams don’t play with decent no. 9s anymore and if they do then VVD would struggle.
Agreed. I find it funny when he’s always mentioned in the same sentence as Vidic and Terry. Those guys had proper ST to play against.

After the way Arsenal cheated against us on Sunday I’d rather they didn’t win the league. I’d prefer Chelsea at this point to get some form back and go on a winning run.

True but without Saka there is no consistent goal threat.
Also true. They really messed up with signing Havertz over a proper ST and also signing CBs when they had a very solid defence last season. They needed to improve attack.

Shearer ?
