Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

Deserved win for Arsenal.

Liverpool at Brentford and Arsenal at home to Villa at the weekend. If we're going to get a title race that looks a significant matchday.

Arsenal players and manager with wild celebrations for falling over the line at home against average injury hit spursy.

Will be 2nd at best for them this season again and will probably finish further behind 1st than the last two season.

I find them a lot more unlikeable than Liverpool now that Klopp is gone.

They won't. Liverpool are more of a threat with a knackered Salah.

theyre just so unlikeable its unreal. Something happened there a couple of years ago where they seemed to decide its their absolute destiny to win the title asap - even though theyve won pretty much nothing, and they have this weird relationship with their fans who seem to hate them every second they aren't leading, but who respond to any player even as weasely as zinchenko giving it the big arm waving. such a weird team, i cant think of many more made in the image of their manager.

Not sure if Arsenal will manage a win but can see Liverpool struggling as well.

Interesting Arsenal are still in touch will Liverpool (just about) despite lots of issues. Those issues could persist, but they have the experience now of knowing a title is won in the second half of the season. Liverpool have done it a few times where they’ve dropped off in the second half of the season and they will definitely drop a fair amount of points. All I’m saying is if Arsenal have a final 12 weeks similar to last season they will run Liverpool very close.

If this happens, they'll beat them to it.

It won't happen. The issues will persist, Saka isn't coming back soon, the attacking guys lack confidence, quality and just quantity as well.

You’re probably right, may need someone to be bought upfront which isn’t realistic to expect.

We're 15th now as Palace won. Can move up to 12th tomorrow night though if we beat Southampton. Would move 10 points above relegation zone and above Spurs.

Big game for Ipswich tomorrow as well as they host Brighton. While I'd like Ruud to keep Leicester in PL it seems unlikely. Would be nice if Ipswich and Everton stay up (for different reasons).

We really need Garner, Timmy and McNeil back. We have so few players that are either technically good or progressive and it just so happens that 3 of the few we have are all out injured.

Just watching MOTD and Man City were very lucky to come away from Brentford with a point, Brentford were the much better side and Ake even had to clear it off the line twice.

After seeing how poor Ortega was I wouldnt be suprised if chequebook Pep splashed the cash for a new keeper before the end of this window.

They haven't won a title though. And they don't look like winning one.

Southampton's line up on the PL app doesn't even have a striker listed. It's just 5 defenders and 5 midfielders.

Delay is a big lump of a striker who gives away too many needless free kicks. People (including myself) have a go at Hojlund for wrestling with his CB too often but Delap doesn't even look at the ball sometimes. He would irritate the hell out of me if he played for United.

A neutral would struggle to identify which team is supposedly the worst in the league... Southampton players can barely run with the ball but somehow getting many shots off.

This formation only suits us against the likes of Liverpool, City etc. It's way too defensive to be playing the likes of bottom of the league at home. We need two world class Wing Backs to stand any chance and we ain't attracting world class players under Amorims reign. There's no up front wide outlet when building up and we end up going backwards. Hopefully being beaten by bottom of the league at home will be a big wake up call.

Most game played in utd half tell you everything, lucky to be 1 down

The exact same problems Utd had under Ten Hag. Capable of good performances when they can sit in and hit on the counter. It's the games where they are expected to control games and be on the front foot that are the issue.

Oh look, Arsenal fans exist again. Fancy that.

Always funny when people come out with this. Just ignore our chances where we easily could’ve scored two.
I mean yeah Garnacho should score, but to me Saints have worked Onana far more than you've worked whoever Southampton have in goal.

Yes,the major problem of Amorim's tactics so far is that they are way too defensive...you cant play with 5 at the back against the last team in the Premier League at home..this is disrespectful to United as a team and as a fans..Amorim must realise this very quick or he will be out..
