Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

Sels MOTM in the second half. We should've won that, two points dropped again. Must win at Brentford.

Jota reminds me of Solomon Kalou for Chelsea back in the mid 2000's. Just has a knack of scoring important goals as a sub.

As bad as it is for the Caf, a very competitive league and an end to the oil club title pumping is good for the PL.
I like the surprise Forest is and the fight they have but looking at the game tonight the level of the number 2 in the league is pretty weak.

Good to see a lot of teams performing well this season. Bournemouth, Brentford, Forest,

There is a lot of good players in the league

And it proves there are good players to be had that don’t cost a fortune

These are Euro prices as well!

Fair play to Liverpool this season but fecking hell the league is tragic this season.

Forest have done their work by taking 5 points off Liverpool time for the rest to step up instead of getting their bellies rubbed
4 different teams have taken points off Liverpool in the last 7 league games and then there's Spurs who beat them in the Cup. Other teams are doing their bit, it's the title challengers who need to step up.

Great night of football. Didn't see any of West Ham-Fulham but that's a good win for Potter considering they don't have any strikers available.

Brentford played some lovely football tonight and they kept going at 0-2 down, they're a right pain to beat away.

Only saw Chelsea game from Bournemouth going 1-2 up but they just looked so much fresher across the pitch. All teams also know Chelsea aren't very good at CB currently. Also not sure why they're playing Caciedo at RB currently when he was finally looking the part in central midfield.

Didn't really watch much of Forest but they're just so well drilled that them holding Liverpool dosen't surprise.

Should be far more midweek rounds for the premier league, pleased to see there's two more in late Feb and early April.

The most expensive in the list, by quite some distance. And even that is reasonable given his levels for a couple of years now…and how NF are performing in the league

Milenkovic, Zabarnyi and Murillo collectively cheaper than Martinez is perhaps a better way to highlight my point.

Watching Brentford vs City today you have to start wondering if Savinho knows that Haaland plays for the same team.
That midfield and defense is just so slow and weak, no wonder they can’t control games any more and look like conceding every time they lose the ball.

Looking at understat and it seems it was a pretty undeserved win but getting a win on the board early in the league is what matters really.

I think Gibbs-White has been brilliant, but there is something I don't particularly like about some of his antics or attitude (same way people will hate Bruno's antics etc). Was just pointing out his overall transfer fee, as most people thought it was mental (me included) for a newly promoted team to spend on a player who had been on loan in the Championship the previous season.

I agree though, I would be far more happy if the club to identified talents like Murillo and get them from Corinthians for £15-20m and not have Branthwaite for a potential £70-80m.

A fair result between both sides at the City Ground tonight I thought. Liverpool as expected were dominant in the Forest half but Forest deployed the low block superbly.
I think they’re only a couple of players short of being real contenders next season.

Yes as it stands they have no serious challenger so can drop points like tonight and it won't really matter.

There are no title challengers. Chelsea are the best bet but they’re also not consistent enough and their defence can’t be relied on.

I retract my earlier City bed wetting, they don't have the composure to put a run together.
