You won't get a softer penalty this season. Liverpool doesn't need help to win the title and yet still they get it.

Look, if you offered me Liverpool winning the league this season in exchange for their three best players subsequently leaving on a free before their downfall, I might have taken it.
We’re playing away at a team who just beat two of the most in-form teams in the league with an aggregate of 9-1 and quite easily keeping them at bay so far. If you expect us to literally dominate every game, then yeah sure we don’t “look particularly great”.

I blame Howard. He has neutered VAR. It seems in the PL the primary purpose of VAR is to protect the refs while outside the PL atleast the intent is to help the ref make the correct decision.
