Predictions for players we'll sign in the Summer

I wouldn't mind that actually, maybe add another central midfielder and we may be sorted.
I'd be over the moon actually but, you're right, another CM wouldn't be wrong. Powell comes in also though. Have high hopes form him, as well as Pereira.

Everytime I see the name Carvalho, I must admit I have horrible flashbacks to that sneak of a player at Chelsea, and for a minute fear we're trying to sign him, who must be near 40 now!

I think he's the sort of player who looks good at a midtable club, but doesn't have the intelligence needed for Utd. I can just see him being another Young.
Do think he will end up here though, because as you say, he's realistic and English

Most of the players signed by Fergie in his early winning sides were from mid table sides so I wouldn't judge a player on that basis.

This will be the most exciting transfer window in ages for us.

I don't know anything about Kovacic, but his situation reminds me of Mata's. That could tempt a few people at Old Trafford.

In:
Virgil Van Dijk
Luke Shaw
Adam Lallana
William Carvalho
Ivan Rakitic
Alessio Cerci

Out:
Ferdinand
Evra
Vidic
Anderson
Hernandez
Nani

Didn't take this thread long before the same old boring anti Moyes crap started coming out.

The Osman jokes are just so funny.....
There's like one Osman post in this thread. Why bring it back up?

Only confident on Carvalho and Shaw. After that I'd be delighted with one of Gundogan, Herrera, Pjanic, Rakitic, Kroos. Would be pleased if that was it really, but as we're getting rid of a few center backs then we'll need somebody else there, preferably an experienced one but I can't think of one, so I'm going for Martinez/Ginter.

Has anyone seen this Carvalho fella? I have seen him being mentioned many times as a done deal- and a few people getting very excited by the possibility of his signing - but I haven't ever seen him. How good is him?

Neither have I, since when have people been so keen on watching the Portuguese league? I would only put his name down for a signing this summer on the simple fact we are being linked to him so heavily, but otherwise haven't a clue on what he is like.

Musts:
Centre midfielder - probably Carvalho
Centre-back - not sure who

Hopefully:
Luke Shaw or a top left-back
A versatile defender for cover

Dreamland:
A top centre midfielder - Gundogan
An exciting young talent - eg Barkley

Have we been linked to Lallana? Do people want Lallana? Should I rate Lallana higher? Am I overly fond of typing the name Lallana?

To me, he's not someone that would be taking us forward. If we were in a strong position on the wings then I think he would do alright for us in a rotation system, but I imagine he is going to come with a heavy price. If we're looking to buy a winger, we should be buying top quality rather than potential. He is a good player though, his stats showing it too.

Coleman. Shaw. Garay. Carvalho.

And I expect a few more too, but I don't know who else yet.

I think we will go for a shocking player you wouldn't expect. In the last two Summers we have gone for Van Persie and Fabregas. Think another Marquee signing will be targeted.

Better then Young for me but I'd rather get Nani fit and give him a chance, or let Januzaj develop. Keep the starters as Mata and Kagawa, then rotate Valencia, Januzaj and Nani (and occasionally Welbeck) around there for different situations.

LB, CB and 2 CMs are a must

Think we may go for another CB, RB and probably a winger. It all depends who leaves though.

Why do people want lallana? Good player but another player who's best as a 10? Not for me.

Sorry to be pessimist, but I think we have to get the 100-200m warchest idea out of our heads. The glazers have never shown any willingness to give a madsive amount, just the bare minimum needed to acheive what we need/expect.

I do think the daft 100-200m has come from the press from briefings with ed, I dont think they have plucked it *quite* out of their arses. But a lot of this will be PR. Also, it wont be on transfer fees, it will include wages, probably over the term of the contract. Says the cynic in me.

Likely to be 50m ish plus the money we get for selling.

Out:
Rvp...yeah I know, I just think it will. £8m?
Nani-5m
Hernandez-8m
Anderson (will he still be under contract??) 2m
Kagawa-8m

That makes 31, so lets say 80 - 90m max (actually closer to 100m than I was expecting! )

In.
Carvalho (30m)
Cb (no idea who) 20m
Winger (di maria??) 20-25m

Leaves max 20m for another midfielder of the herera ilk (wont be him)

Leaves us short on strikers and still possibly short in midfield... my worry is we will splash out on a striker as a 'marquee' signing to appease fans after selling rvp which will leave us getting cheaper options elsewhere.

considering we will definately need a cb im surprised there's not more rumours about potential buys as there is with midfielders.

Edit. feck, forgot about LB. Have to be shaw for 20m ish

Inigo Martínez
Reus
Luke Shaw
William Carvalho

I like better.

and dream one probably won't happen, but will be our Fabregas this summer:

Kroos.

Four players would be enough, two central midfielders, a leftback and a central defender . I think Cavalho will come and we will try for Shaw but beyond that it's difficult to know with any certainty .

Thank the Gods you're not our CEO. There is no way that any of those players you mentioned will go for that low money.
