Good start to our pre-season so far. DCL missing three sitters, Maupay hitting the post and 2-0 down to a shite Sligo Rovers side. We're back baby!

Yoro looking quality.

I've a massive worry about Rangers this season. Probably the least excited and most concerned I've been pre season in a while. Lost some experience, only really bought some cheap young punts, and the manager basically admitting he doesn't have money and willl need to sell before he can buy, only he has very little in the way of sellable assets.

In other news, Arsenal kicked of pre season in a closed doors game vs Leyton Orient.

Nobody at the game, mostly Celtic fans which are usually a big draw in the States. Two Bob city

We played Wrexham in that stadium last summer. Wrexham packed out their section of the ground way more than either of these teams have here.

Yeah but fans in the States have heard of wrexham

Haaland and Grealish getting a taste of Man City if they didn't have so many brilliantly valid sponsorships.

playing in chapel hill, nc....that's a huge soccer community so a bit surprised to see so many empty seats

You'd think city would feel at home with all those empty blue seats

Chelsea are playing Wrexham late tonight/early tomorrow.

I get why they do these tours overseas but the days of me staying up till 2am for a friendly are long gone.

Wrexham more than holding their own against Chelsea...granted it's a fairly young Chelsea side this first half

1-0 to Arsenal with a nice volley from Fabio Vieira. Let's hope he can step it up this season in the PL or he will surely be out next summer.

Bournemouth players looked like they didn't even want to take their penalties. Hein could be okay as #2 if Ramsdale leaves and we don't sign another GK.

Arsenal with half stadium full.
Chelsea with half stadium full.
City with half stadium full.
Will United be the first English team this preseason to get a crowd to show up?

To be fair, the price they are charging for some of these friendlies are a joke, I read it was $160 for the Arsenal game vs Bournemouth to watch a much changed team in a game that was only announced a couple of weeks back.

From where I stay, I can get me and my boy to Murrayfield and back for £10 return on the bus. I worked out it would be cheaper for us to get a morning flight to London, get tickets for the Emirates Cup game, and an evening flight home, than it would be for us to get 2 tickets for Rangers vs Utd 25 miles along the road from me.

Maybe charge less for the tickets so that people actually show up

What are they doing differently this year though, that they haven't done in previous years? Is it just about pricing? Arsenal and Chelsea have been selling out US stadiums for years. Chelsea played Wrexham just last summer in front of a full house, so I was quite surprised to see the half empty stadium for the same fixture this year.

You thought it was full house, but that was just Chelsea's squad. This year they've left half of them back home so it seems emptier.

I'll give you a C - for that RiP. Good effort but a tad bit predictable ;)
