Weak mentality on the pitch, in the coaching fepartment and in the boardroom and owners. Nothing will change.
Yes we have some bad players that should not even be getting looks in champions league games, but surely the coaching staff knows that. You can’t try to baby confidence in every player when a bunch of them have proven they are shit or over the hill.
Yes AWB got a red due to his terrible technique but for me going down to 10 men against a team
of this caliber can definitely be mitigated. What we saw with the quick substitution after the red card was panic and cowardice. 8 minutes to the half. See it out. Then make a change. This gave young boys impetus as it became very clear what we will be doing moving forward. They knew it was coming at half time.
We did not do ourselves favours on the pitch either.. bad players and bad management only leads to one result.
I want Ole to stay long term but if we don’t make it out the group he should be sacked.
Chelsea got a 0-0 at Anfield with 10 men.
We lost 2-0 to Young Boys.
My answer is, overall, I'm reasonably happy with Ole's tactics and changes - and very happy with the attitude he's instilled around the club and the squad we've been slowly assembling.i have a question for you:
Please tell me how many times in the past 2 seasons you felt “some poor decisions were made as regards subs and tactics”
Did you not see our second shot of the game?A thing of beauty. What happened to those rapid counter attacks we used to do?
Do Young Boys have better midfielders than us?Difference is Chelsea have top players in midfield who can create and hold the ball and dictate pace. We have Matic Fred and McTominay.
No way, seriously? That’s shocking11 games in the CL under Ole.
7 defeats.
Not even close to good enough that.
At least there's some balance in this post. It’s 100% AWB fault we are down to 10 men
it‘s 100% Ole fault with all the stupid subs and park the bus approach
it‘s 100% Lingard fault on losing the final goal which loss us the match
Haha I see English is definitely not yours !I see English is not your strong suit.
There is too much management by committee due to lack of tactical nous. Ronaldo was on the pitch trying to get us to play higher. To no avail as he got hooked. The problem is not just Ole, it's McKenna and Carrick too. None of them has coached or managed at a high level. When you get a situation like in tonight's game they completely lose control and panic.
From the way we were playing you'd have thought we were down two men against peak Barca.
You reckon?
I didn't see the game, just read the pbp here -- can't say I'm surprised we lost.Bruno and Ronaldo barely touched the ball for about 20mins, and we were getting overrun.
It was just a freak game, sh!T pitch, very early red, trying to play 3 centre backs which we very rarely do. Dalot on the pitch which is very unusual. The whole thing was a mess really.
But that backpass was something special. I genuinely don't think he could play a ball that criminal again if he had another 99 goes.
Oh that level of arrogance, well displayed sir.And look at that Aston villa team. Its actually a very good team. Tonight we played young boys and I guarantee nobody remembers a single player from their team.
How anyone could watch those 2 games and think we did a better job than Chelsea just baffles me. Liverpool are 10x the team Young Boys are.
Two were against barca in both legs, at least one is PSG. Bad ones were Leipzig, Istanbul, and this oneNo way, seriously? That’s shocking
What was Ole thinking bringing him back after his West Ham loan? That's his level; he needs to be moved on.What was Ole thinking when he was controlling Lingard's feet and making him pass to DeGea?

Taking Ronaldo off? Well he can't play every minute of every game. I presume that having him there kept the YB defense honest and with him gone, that was one thing that YB didn't have to worry about. Why take of Bruno tho'? Another player removed who would keep the YBs busy.
Occasionally, Pogba looks world class. Very occasionally. Apparently not today.
Sometimes we lose. Sometimes the manager makes mistakes. Pep, Klopp, Zidane all make mistakes too. We are all bummed that we lost, but I really think that given the circumstances, Ole had the right tactics. “Going for it” against a well organized side may have meant a conceded goal… then the Ole Outers would be out in force, saying he was naive.Im totally Ole in but his changes and tactics tonight weren’t good. Yeah the red changed the game but our 10 should have been searching for a second against an outfit from outside the top 5 leagues. This is probably the greatest result in their history no?
Just saw the red incident and don't agree with that. These european refs are fannies.
It was a deserved red card.Just saw the red incident and don't agree with that. These european refs are fannies.
I think one of the main things people dislike about Ole is his subs.At least there's some balance in this post.
As opposed to all the people saying "stupid Ole, poor team, terrible tactics" but not posting when team announced or 1-0 up.
Odd that?
have this one, did not see the arentHaha I see English is definitely not yours !
if you aren’t winning nothing…you are winning something.
we are winning nothing*** or, we are not winning anything***
Fixed
but your point is correct. Ole is shite
With the exception of Kante, under various managers each of Chelsea’s midfielders have at one time or another been viewed as not good enough or not suitable to English football. But under the right manager each of those once criticised midfielders looks like a top player.Difference is Chelsea have top players in midfield who can create and hold the ball and dictate pace. We have Matic Fred and McTominay.
You didn't deserve more than that I'm sorry. They wiped the floor with us, if you don't see it then it's not worth the conversation so let's end it here. Apologies.I do, just like I reckon the use of the smiley makes it clear that I'm conversing with a child.
Lingard is a product of the park bus approach that we have seen not working before. He shouldnt be where he is.At least there's some balance in this post.

It’s one thing to say “what about the crazy subs”, and it’s another to back it up. Tell me, what subs did he make that were a mistake at the time, and, since you seem to think you know a lot about football tactics, what would your subs have been and why? What about the crazy subs? What excuse you got for that?
Sorry but it was pathetic taking off Sancho, and eventually Fernandes and Ronaldo when we went to 10 man. We foolishly attempted to defend for 55 minutes when we should have gone for the kill. We have one of the most lethal attacking line-ups in the entire world, and we cower behind a 1-0 lead against a team that would struggle to win the English championship? If that's our plan for the future games that we go 10 man, then I'm afraid that's not a good sign is it? Forgot about the 2-1 loss to Istanbul already have you? What a bunch of pathetic 'United' fans we have here. One unexpected loss and they can't wait to get their knives out.
So much anger in their lives all being projected out. Sad
I like Ole and never was an Ole out guy, but watching the face of McKenna and Carrick after the sending off scared me. It was like they were lost…and Ole is always chatting with them. The problem is not just Ole, it's McKenna and Carrick too. None of them has coached or managed at a high level. When you get a situation like in tonight's game they completely lose control and panic.
