PL L FA Premier League

Newcastle United 1:0 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Fuming, our attitude is disgraceful sometimes, completely unacceptable to look so uninterested for 90% of the game.

Had a feeling we'd lose today, predicted 2-1 to Newcastle. I didn't think we'd be that shite though.

This is a fecking Championship team.

GUTLESS CNUT PLAYERS!!!!!!
Even when we win we play shit lately, I know I’m emotional right now but to me, the players don’t seem arsed at all !!!

Same team, same shite result. Other than Sanchez and Lukaku I don't think anyone played well.

I think Pogba was the weak link today. Having a key attacker play so poorly seemed to destabilise everyone else.

Not sure why he's like this. Unfit? Injured? Bit of both? Or just immaturity?

Not sure where people get the idea that they dominated us. After they got the breakthrough, they were the better side and we looked woeful. But we were absolutely bossing the game in the 2nd half until that defensive calamity.

Of course, the performance in the 1st half and from conceding the goal onwards is far from acceptable.

With Jose being happy with his attacking options - what does he think we lack? We certainly are in a mini crisis right now. Seems Jose doesn't know his favourite lineup, formation or most effective subs. Sanchez is an outstanding player, but trying to fit him in has coincided with this rut we're in (which is not to say he's to blame, of course not).

I do hope Jose takes ownership for this and addresses what he sees as the main concerns.

We've dropped in from significantly since Sanchez arrived. It's not due to him specifically but playing about 4 players (plus Young at left back so there's even less width) that want to operate in the same area at the same time is just pointless and kills any fluidity we might have had. Should've just put him on the right but here we are. A team that's going to fight for a top 4 place.

Additionally there is a point where Matic Will be dropped right?

Made shelvey look like Zidane. Dubrovka will be an immense signing for them.

'One of those days' match if I ever saw one. Those screamers by Martial and Alexis were enough for several games.

Absolutely shocking performance, we’ve looked awful for weeks. Don’t know why I get so excited for united games, same shite football week in week out.

Sanchez must be thinking what has he done

Tim Sherwood absolutely spot on, which is fecking painful in itself. We look like we’re just 11 random players that’s never played together before. Absolutely fecking shocking how poor we look at times.

Terrible performance although we didn't deserve to lose it. Jose mostly at fault, we should be playing Shaw who is a proper left back instead of Young. It is his job as the manager to make the call on Pogba, he was clearly struggling and should have been taken off.

Our attacking play has no cohesion to it and its frankly embarrassing given how much we have spent.

Newcastle had only won 2 PL games from their last 17 before today...

We had 27 minutes left when they scored and except for those two Martial chances I don’t think we had a shot. Rubbish, again.

Jose needs to sort out our attacking play. There needs to be some structure there. It's almost like he throws them on together and expects them to figure it out. That doesn't work.

All of our attackers missing chances as well..... (sigh).

Our midfield needs sorting out. And finally, play three in midfield away from home.

Stupid team selection: Pogba in a midfield two, Martial on the right, Jones and Smalling at CB

No wonder Jose says we need several players for midfield, our midfield is nonexistent at the moment. I can understand Matic running out of steam but Pogba has been inept for a while now and it's not like he's been playing every single game this season.

Utter garbage that was.
Newcastle played as a team and fought for everything and for each other. We are just a bunch of 11 individuals who just happen to wear the same kit.

Can't say I'm too mad as the result and performance didn't surprise me.

No attacking plan, just kept lumping it forward hoping Lukaku would salvage something, horrible to watch - Smalling, Jones and Valencia need replacing

I'll still defend Mourinho, but feck this waiting-for-the-opposition-to-make-a-mistake tactical bullshit. Evolve, dammit.

That was one of those games where of you had it FM you would blast the feck out of them at the end and tell them they were being dumped into the reserves.

We should have won that match. Three chances cleared close to the line that all should have gone in and then that save at the end. Martial's one on one miss notwithstanding. Amazing how we failed to score.

To make myself feel better I'm going to simply blame Smalling and Jones and insist that they are to blame for the defeat, not scoring goals (again) and worldwide famine.

There. Delusional positivity.

Chelsea and Liverpool coming up. We're shite in big games. We're shite in little games. Mouriniho hasn't a clue. I've never seen a team with such little cohesion...the guy is absolutely fecking clueless. His man management is awful as well - look at the state of Pogba strutting around thinking he's god's gift when he's not even fit to lace Darren Fletcher's boots. We need somebody who can actually ground these players and get the best out of them because unlike LVG we actually have a talented squad. We will never win the league as long as we keep getting in defensive managers.

Absolutely shit, like the Spurs game. Thr same mistake of Martial on the right, Lingard in midfield, and no Mata on the right.

Good team on the sheet, utter shite on the field.

Better team won.

Lukaku is a mid table striker. 7th to 10th place is his level.

Still think we can clinch 4th because Sanchez looks promising and Martial was just unlucky today, but no chance at silverware or a top 3 finish in my opinion.

Terrible performance although we didn't deserve to lose it. Jose mostly at fault, we should be playing Shaw who is a proper left back instead of Young. It is his job as the manager to make the call on Pogba, he was clearly struggling and should have been taken off.

Young wasn’t a problem, what are you talking about?

I’m so glad I’m not doing the awards show today. Half of the audience have probably topped themselves by now.

Same old shite, looking completely uninterested, then going for it with ten minutes to go. It's utterly bizarre how often we see this. I don't really know what's going on with Jose, but we don't look right at all to me.

These players are capable of so much more.

When up against it these players don't seem to care. Such an unlikeable bunch.

Did not we say Matic Pogba was the best midfield in the League?

We don't play like a team.

We don't play with any heart or desire, nobody cared if we won or lost that.

WTF was our defending for that goal? Smalling and Jones are a pathetic pairing.

That was our worst game of the season. Garbage, pure garbage and a torture of a sunday evening. Even Spurs loss seems a bit better in comparison.

Seems like we are the only team apart from Chelsea sometimes who sweat over scoring one measly goal. There is a crisis simmering beneath the surface in attack and Jose needs to address it.

And no, Lingard is not the answer.

Worst performance of the season. Anyone who thinks DDG is sticking around with this lot is delusional.

They could have gotten a penalty.
Valencia shouldn't be left on the field.
We lost to a team that havent won at home in 4 months.
Wow.. I dont even know what to say.
