Manchester City 1:2 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

From weeks of footballing blackouts after United matches to this week where I'll be consuming every highlight package, podcast and talking about football at work all week. GET IN!

Given the little time Amorim has had with the team, it was pretty impressive how we matched up to City in possession and generally keeping the ball. We never really saw that from Ole / Ten Hag. Though admittedly City were as bad as I've ever seen them play. The only chance they created was the Gvardiol header and even that was a deflected cross.

Someone needs to write that boy a song with the tune of Jean Wyclef's Diallo Diallo - it just works. He has a readymade song with his name!

To quote the late Leslie Nielsen "I love it"

From a what was looking like frustrating defeat (least United deserved out of the game was a draw) to getting the most unlikely win.

Delighted Amad got the winner, Uniteds best and most consistent player along with Maz. Manchester is Red!

Don't care about the overall performance and the decline in City , games like this are about results and that a very good result.

That's a thing of beauty. Gives everyone a bit of belief, gives Amorin a bit of credit in the bank, justifies the Rashford Garnacho decision.

An awful game but I don't care. That second goal was sublime. Build Amad a statue.

Stunned at how bad City were. I don't think I've ever seen them play that bad. Created absolutely nothing.

Kyle Walker can do one as well. Absolute rat.

Defensively solid from United except for that corner. Onana looked better today than the last few games.
Very little going forward but Amad was a shining light. Højlund worked hard.
Three points away at City despite a poor offensive performance? I’ll take that.

Amad obviously the hero, but what about THAT BALL from Martinez?

We deserved to win on the basis of chances. Best performance against city in city in ages.

Lovely. Just lovely. The moment we took risks they fell apart. Wins like these give the team confidence. That's what we need. Keep building that belief. Keep doing the right things. And the wins will come. Having Amazing Amad also helps.

Ten Hag should be jailed for how much he sidelined Amad.

Ten Hag was terrible and should have been sacked a year before he was. Even his first season was carried by Rashford and Casemiro having golden spells.

Deserved. We were the better team most of the game, created the best chance and obvious stonewall penalty not given.

What a result, what a win! Fantastic late come back led by Amad who was the best player on the pitch. Don’t think either team were particularly great, we had much of the ball lacked a cutting edge. Then City shot themselves in the foot and let us back in, then you just had the feeling that we could go on and win it.

Massive result for Amorim, he really needed this win! I imagine we will rotate a little vs Spurs but we need to get a run in the league together.

We deserved to win, created more chances, were more resilient, kept going. Amad, obviously MoTM, Ugarte is class, Licha, De Ligt, Maguire - did well. I love this game.

WHAT A WIN!

I am buzzing! AMORIM you sexy bastard! Amad is world class!

Felt that Neville was unduly harsh on us. I actually felt our performance in the second half by and large merited something - we were by far the better side.
Almost muted the sound because of this. City hardly threaten, and United was very good. Only thing lack is composure in the final third

We have no attack. Everything needs to go through Amad. Need a LWB in asap.

Big call from Amorim to leave out Garnacho and Rashford, not even on the bench. Then bringing on Antony and Zirkzee, and we end up winning. Wow.

Great win, get in!

Amad is showing so much under Amorim and I felt like we are deserved winners here today, City are so poor right now.
He was fantastic for the most part when he played under ETH too, but for whatever reason he was frozen out after a single poor performance, whilst Rashford was allowed to stink the place up for 18 months. Even Antony was ahead of him at one point. No wonder he was so visibly pissed off towards the end of ETH's time here.

What a fecking finish

Amad is something else. Absolutely turned the match around
