FA W FA Cup Final

Manchester City 1:2 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Well there's no outstanding candidates is there? We get in someone else we're back to square one, I think. This game showed the passion is still there. And we can actually defend with decent players available. Buzzing for us (ofc), and ETH at the end.
Let's have balance.

We had a bizarre game against Liverpool, collapsed against Coventry and effectively lost but for VAR and beat City today as we could play on the break like we did under Ole.

We've lost 4-0 to Crystal cnuting Palace in the last few weeks.

We finished 8th. xPts had us finishing 16th. Most shots faced in any European league bar Sheffield United.

It's time for a change. An elite sporting organisation would have made the change already. The backroom overhaul has delayed the inevitable. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I'm happy for EtH but his stubbornness this season with suicidal tactics has cost him his job, deservedly so.

I was in tears t the end. That was like winning the league for me. So proud of our players. Amrabat was running the show. Keep him please.

ETH in 100%

Be fking madness to sack after this surely. I don't want another manager.

Once upon a time an FA Cup win saved SAF. This club should respect its history and give ETH the chance next season to repeat history.

But...but...it was going to be 5 or 6. No point in turning up. Better to take a 3-0 default than the forthcoming humiliation. :D

Honestly, I wonder if some folk actually watch enough football to know what can happen in one-off games. Brilliant win.

Get the feck innnnnn!!!!!!

Every player to a man did their job perfectly. So fecking proud of them.

Yes indeed. And the only time they scored was when Awb was faced by Doku and Silva.

Congratulations guys.

Great way to end the season and a great farewell for ETH if this the end for him.

That doesn't make sense.

Get in. Feck off cheats

ETH got tactics spot on today. The players delivered on the tactics perfectly. .
Varane, martinez Amrabat Bruno Garnacho Mainoo all superb. Dalot and AWB close hehind.
onana superb until their goal.
Our second goal was fantastic play.
Buzzing all night tonight.

Ten Hag press match conference right now, these journalists already trying to ask him about him potentially leaving

First of all, shove the Poznan right up your arse City.
Well done to all the players and EtH and his coaching team.
Manchester United, winners of the Phil Foden FA Cup Final.

Even on the pitch at the end Rasford was standing to the side on his own looking like somebody stole his bicycle.

Made he was just reflecting.
I think it was just that, the guy is probably sad he got dropped from the Euros, isn't playing well, and talks of him leaving the club for the right number. Based on his past and how he deals with negativity he's probably just not in a good spot mentally.

He was such a bright spot for the team when Rooney left and now he's being seen as the blight. Some of this is on him and his inconsistencies, but I don't think for one second he doesn't care about this club and what it means for him. Plus the FA cup is still a huge deal for English players so it's probably just all of that hitting him

Same when we faced Liverpool 3 times or even v Arsenal recently.
We do have some utterly shte fans following us.

Brilliant match tactically, a bit of emperor has no clothes about it. Pep/City were desperate for us to chase them around but we just calmly matched their movement and used as much energy as they did, all they had first half was passing around the back line and into dead end wide channels as not much was on for them with us covering their players. Mainoo, McTom and Bruno were excellent and composed to find each other and attack them much more dynamically.

Pep seeing we weren't going to buy into the illusion decided to just use Doku second half, who is a very difficult player to stop, they just rinse and repeat offloading it to him and it set us back a bit. With the goal they had an extra man with Doku which created some confusion and he sneaked a goal.

Pep will look at possession but much of it was poor and limited, we didn't get swept away by some brilliant City side, we just decided to run with them and make them look very ordinary first half and scored great goals with some very composed midfield work, much less erratic than other matches.

What a beautiful second goal to top it off. Pep floundering for anything when they actually got favorable decisions their way.

We should've been more compact throughout the season top 4 was there, trying to force things high with aimless pressing and firefighting at the back leaving huge gaps whether it's bottom of the league or top is very tiresome and doesn't yield goals. We have the skill and speed to kill teams, Hojlund should facing the goal more that backing into it.

Unreal performance. Absolutely loved every minute of that game. Fcuk you City.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fantastic performance, top class, so disciplined, shat my self seeing Amrabat starting but boy did good.

At last those insufferable City fans can go home loosers. So classless, they hold onto possession of the ball for long periods of most games they play and as soon as we held onto the ball a little while they have the audacity to start whistling and booing, so glad we put one up em.

Come on Utd

Casemiro hasn’t posted anything since the final whistle, usually would have by now. Clearly pissed off that he was left out or what?

Whatever happened him not playing today helped us win.

We beat Coventry as they had a goal rightly called off.
It seems weird to try and use that as some kind of reason we don't deserve this cup.
Or the Liverpool comeback.

You could say similar about the 99 FA cup with the Arsenal late pen and late goals v Liverpool.

The best bit of this is how our victory was entirely merited with a masterful display of tactical football. This wasn’t a lucky win, it was engineered through proper planning and desire.

Also very impressed with Hojlund what a player he is when we need someone to drive forward at every window of opportunity. Great physical presence.

AWB was also immense for the role he played today

When he fought and won that ball at the end, it was over. Summed up the team performance today. He's going to be very good for us over the next few years. Awesome mentality.
