PL L FA Premier League

Manchester City 3:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

What's mad is we had clear cut counter opportunities we fecked up.

Just shows the gulf in class at the moment.

We are miles behind.
Third goal summed is up.
Had chances to launch decent counters but constantly went for the safe or brainless.
Back to hating this team again...

We're shit. Goal out of nothing. Our goalkeeper was our best player. The manager is hopeless.

We look like a relegation team against any top team. Jut parking the bus since minute 1 with no plan B. Sick of Ten Haag. He offers nothing compred to Ole, Jose or LVG.

For once not disappointed in how we played. Think a lot of players, especially in defence did their jobs very well. Forward players were anonymous or liabilities.

We actually should have been 2 or 3 up early in the second half.

For me this match sums up why ETH won’t drop Rashford but why we have to sell Rashford in the summer.

Club is a disgrace, the mismanagement is tantamount to corporate sabotage, no other way to explain it.

Other than that, whenever we transition, we stop, turn back and it ends up with Onana, where he plays the ball to a now marked player because guess what, their players are still in our half because, we won the ball and transitioned.

We literally head back to where their players are, back into a press of our own making.

It's insane.

Amrabat's brain fart killed what could have been am interesting few minutes. We were totally outplayed but at least saw some effort from the team. Needed to take some of those half chances in the 1st half though.

So many other sides have performed better than us at the Etihad. Its embarrassing how we shit the bed .

Predicted a 3-1 result only surprise was United was leading 1-0 at half time and would take City until the 80 minute before going in front. To add salt to wounds a 3rd goal gifted in added time.

Gap in class between the teams is huge. When you can't hold the ball for more than a minute then you know this team lacks quality.

Only positive, at least it wasn't a huge scoreline?

Huge job to rebuild this.

Expecting Ten Hag to say we played well and we're unlucky

Expected nothing. The game was always going to be a bad watch for us. Felt nothing when Foden scored his 2nd.

Not a single player in our matchday squad would get into the City starting eleven and it showed. The difference in quality is like night and day.

No amount of tactical set up can compensate for the gulf in quality of players in the two teams.

After all those 100's millions spent on the squad we are still miles off and getting further away every season.

Recruitment has been shambolic for a very long time and there is no quick fix for Ineos to implement.

Did our part to keep Liverpool from number 20 is about the thinnest faintest silver lining out of this game.

Such a shame to see a wonderful football like Foden playing for an absolutely nothing club, sad to see.

We're just a terrible football team

Very effective and good for the first 40, but faded massively.

Needed Rashford to do better when through on goal and the fluffed chance, but seems hard to critique after his first.

Reality is we are simply nowhere near City's level. Humbling second half, as expected. We are where we deserve to be in the table.

The best team won. Our team is ravaged by injuries, the bench has no quality. No regrets, apart from that third goal. Plain stupidity.

I'm firmly in the ETH out camp, but even I can see that went about as well as could be expected...some of yous losing your minds are the same ones that expected us to be steamrollered 7-0

I mean it's not like that was a competitive 3-1 either, we got fecking dominated. 7-0 easily could have happened with a worse GK performances (like DDG against Liverpool last year)

Just a massive chasm between the teams, shown on the pitch and glaringly obvious when you look at the benches.

We just have to hope the FA wipe the stain of corruption that is Manchester City from the face of the earth.

Maybe then we'll be competitive.

Almost every one of City's bench would have started for us today.

Every time after we play City I'm always amazed at their ability to improve players - someone like Ake was not anywhere near that level when he joined. Our players get worse when they join.

Our squad is so thin - look at the quality we can bring on from the bench - Forson, Kambwala, Amrabat wouldn't get anywhere near Everton or Nottingham Forest's team, yet we're relying on them to make a difference against City.

Varane and Onana were fairly good, but we are million miles away from the required level, and have been for years now.

Actually for 60 or 70 minutes we looked like United away from home in the SF of the Champions League vs one Europe’s top team under SAF post 2005. Very controlled, great defending, played it about at times, and had the better chances.

The Rashford goal was amazing. A really high quality goal. After that, it was all downhill from there.

We just seem incredibly weak and easy to play against. Not just in this game, but in every game. There's no nerve or ability to scare the opposition.

Reckon that’s the nail in his coffin now and that he’s definitely gone at the end of the season. If you spend that much money and after two years only can manage 30% possession against your local rival, then something in your coaching & management is desperately wrong.

Did our part to keep Liverpool from number 20 is about the thinnest faintest silver lining out of this game.

I don't think we had any say in how this went. I wouldn't want to claim any credit for what we produced out there.
