Toothless performance, the players had no belief and were beaten before they took the field today.

AWB and Shaw positionally were poor and those clamouring for Bailly have short memories which were again born out today.

The team is now going backwards under Ole, which is disappointing because last season there was some reason to feel optimistic. Need a proven winners at coaching level now to move us forward. Not sure who that is. The board need to be decisive, can't afford to write the season off by leaving it any longer...

Not wanting to come here and take the piss after that (I’ll save that for those in red that I know closer) but I have to say I thought that was a truly awful United performance. One of the worst. From the first goal I never felt like the game was going to end in anything but a City win.

It doesn’t feel like Olè has any support left but from within the club. I can only suspect that the work is being done to secure the right replacement and only then will the news hits the fans. If this isn’t the case then it absolutely should be. This is more fundamental than a tough run of fixtures.

Utterly shambolic, I'm ashamed and disgusted, ole, Carrick , phelan and that other joker need to feck off and never come back.

Good that City play with no strikers. Else they would have scored lot lot more.

Ole and his goons have been actively sabotaging this club for the past few months now. He needs to do the right thing and resign.

Hi all been a united fan since the 80s even though I must admit back then as a kid I nearly moved over to Everton as we were poor.....

having browsed this site for years I have decided to Take the plunge and join not to bash Oli or the players but just feel the time is right For me.

Anyway need to ask and didn’t think this would be my first post on Redcafe but did anybody else hear Harry Maguire at the second goal shout away?? i have read that someone thought it was De Gea but unless he has a English accent now it was def HM..

Yes I picked up on that too. If you watch it closely you can clearly see Shaw turn straight to Maguire after it with arms out. That's why Shaw left it otherwise I think he nods that for a corner

Another blunder by Maguire!

DVB is second in the MOTM. Come on, you reds, make him go top. 10%, we just need a moment of brilliance. Or two.

Think back to the start of this season. The OGS fan boys were still in the majority on this forum.
Now answer this.
If he had scored the winning goal in a Champions League final for another club, would he have even been considered for the job of managing this club with his managerial record? No, no and no again. He wouldn't have been on the radar or within a million miles of it.
So why all the angst? Club legend, don't want to hate him, etc.
This is just sentimental claptrap.
And that is a major problem with this club. Sentimental about Busby, Ferguson, the United Way ad nauseum. Time to move on and act like a grown up club.

Great though he is, Ronny at 37 is inevitably a flat track bully. He’ll score plenty against the canon fodder but against top defenders, his powers are on the wane. The rest of the team should try and match even 50% of his effort though. In any event, he can’t do it on his own and nobody is stepping up to the plate. Our wingers are bang average. Sancho at £75m is a joke. He’s worth half that. The only thing that looks as bad in the ‘value for money’ stakes is Grealish playing for that lot. Maguire at centre back just isn’t good enough and Luke Shaw gets hung out to dry by what’s in front of him. I think Pogba is a class player, but he doesn’t want to be here. We need stability, we need to deal with our issues bit by bit, we need players who are in their mid 20’s rather than mid 30’s and above all, we need time and patience. This isn’t the first time that we’ve been poor (although we probably have to go back nearly 40 years since we were last like this), but in time, things will improve.

Not with this coaching team they won't. They're not good enough at their jobs to beat teams managed by the likes of Tuchel, Klopp, Guardiola and win trophies

Also, Ronaldo had no service at all today and still could have had 2 goals. The idea he's a flat track bully is daft.

Has anyone tried turning the club off, then turning it back on again? Maybe that will work.
I have this great blue screen in front of me. It's not doing much. It's been this way quite a long time now. Should I press Control/Alt/Delete?

Im suprised it ended 2-0 and we didnt have another repeat of the Liverpool game.

I'm not putting any blame on Eric Bailly, because a goal was 100% coming in those early minutes anyway and on another day, stretching out a desperate leg like that, would have cleared the ball for a corner.

Ole and his hopeless coaching team must take the bulk of the blame, but Roy Keane is right that the players on the pitch have a lot to answer for as well.
The Caf is already full of how shit the defenders, midfield and goalie were, but our young homegrown lads are getting away without much criticism yet again.
They were truly awful as well.
There are too many in this squad who can impress and look good on better days, but who lack any deep down drive and desire, or show any fight when we're under the cosh.

I can't see a new manager and coaching staff being the only answer to turn this shit fest around.
It's going to take a lot more.

It feels like much of the team is criticized too harshly. We should be aware we're not where City is at the moment, and the two goals are a bit freaky. I mean, an own goal was a weird deflection, and who would've thought that the ball wouldn't go over. Normally when you see the ball going out you hate the player touching it. Shaw has just been an unlucky one to be surprised. 999/1000 is best to let it go out and not concede a corner. This was one in the thousand times when it would have been preferable to push it out.Overall we were never gonna dominate over City.

Anybody watched that Ole interview on Sky? Way beyond embarrassing. He wants to be fired. "WE have got to get back to what we started to look like". We looked like a proper team (at some vague time in the past). "We have to get back to that". He has to be joking. What the feck does that mean? "We have to get back to what we started to look like".

Nothing much to say. Not one aspect of the result or performance was surprising.

The slow death continues.

The interview by Geoff Shreeves to Ole post match was so cringeworthy.
If any of the Ole is the answer brigade watched that I'm sure they must be doubting their beliefs. I felt that he was like a deer in the headlights out of his depth and totally winging it. I did not come away from the interview again believing Ole new the answers to get us out of this horrer show.
The way Pep spoke about playing against Oles formation was showing the gulf in class between the two managers.
I'm constantly bewildered by what Ole watches but I'd like to believe Ole surely seen how Pep described the way to play our formation in real game time but I'm not convinced as any proactive manager would have made in game tweeks to counteract this and i didn't see any.
Like Liverpool did they took the foot off the pedal inside 55 mins to play within them selves to avoid injuries and to conserve some energy for bigger moments in the season. What is that all about?
These are our two biggest rivals at home and the manor of defeats is criminal.

Ole has never previosly shown any fight or ability in getting out of a predicament the club finds its self in previous spells of management so why do we envisage something changing?
A decision needs to be made soon as this is all about what is right for the team and the club.

Shaw was a NoShow again - biggest fraud on our team

AWB - I am his fan but he was AW Ban

Bailly is a headless chicken. Always good for a reckless idiotic move once or twice a gamr.Yes he is a fighter but he doesn’t think much

DVB-If only our creative midfield was the problem

Team would get relegated in the championship. He had lost the dressing room

We need to try 4213 with Rashford and Sancho on each wing

sad to say this, but Ole is done

Ah shit, to add insult to injury, Sky are showing the Beckham years. Y'know, when we were actually pretty decent. :(

He meant playing crap and getting lucky results against weaker teams. Because Ole knows that the board and many of the fan base are easily hoodwinked. So we can play crap and get outplayed Vs say Norwich but if we win it’s all good, those that voice concerns and say that type of performance every week will come to haunt us are told “ it’s a win, stop being miserable, you just hate ole, support ole or go support City “.

And that’s precisely what Ole is waiting for. The fixtures get easier, he gets a win and acts like the past few weeks were an anomaly

Haven’t seen his post match interview. Anything worth noting?

West Ham and Brighton currently above us in the table, West Ham are 3 points ahead with a game in hand.

Really? Was there a huge protest at the time Ole was signed to a long term contract?.
You know, maybe like planes flying over Old Trafford with signs that said, "Hire a competent manager."

The Glazers may be coming to suspect that the entrenched & entitled currently at Utd don't have a clue what they're doing....what should they do? The fans will squeal bloody murder at the thought of any of them being replaced.

The Glazers are the board.
The problem has always been they were not football people, but just investors.
The decision to appoint a football manager has to be made based on his resume like any other senior position.
The fact fans like someone is unimportant.

City could have won 5-0 if they bothered, they were literally saving energy at Old Trafford. Not one minute was the game interesting or a contest, one club is managed by the best and the other is managed by a total amateur. Looked like Barcelona against Elche or something like that, only an Elche without any grit.
