Gutted I wasn't able to watch this live. Had to work late which further delayed my viewing. Watch up until Fellaini's red and got pissed off so I fast forwarded to the point I see they scored then shut off the tv. Then I find it was disallowed. Feeling better and calm now.

Seriously though, fecking Fellaini played a decent game until that point. Not a bad result, I predicted a draw, we're still unbeaten. Now we are short for 3 games in MF if Pogba is out for any length of time.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Martial does not play much and is sold in the summer
.

Based on this game? He basically played as a second fullback the whole time. Not much he could do on the wing without any support going forward.

Just a few comments, I think Rushford has very position to trouble City yet our players can pass to him. Fellaini should receive a fine for his stupidity of a red, he did a job but still a awful player. Martial really doesn't deserve No.11, I am aligned with Jose that he can go if he has no heart to play.

Brutal absolutely brutal performance. If either of our previous two managers served this up, there would be mad teeth gnashing

If that's the sort of ambition we are going to show against City, what can we expect from Spurs and Arsenal away later in the run in?

We might as well just pack the league in now.
It's what Jose will do as well.

With all the injury problems we have, this was a decent point......de Gea,Bailly and Blind were outstanding.
The problem was that the midfield was overrun at times and unable to get service to Rashford and Martial.
Fellaini.....what a tosser.....headbutting Aguero right in front of the referee just 20 seconds after being booked.
He let the team, and himself, down badly with this piece of absolute stupidity.
He's not a key player for United. We should get rid imo.

Happy with a point. This was one of the most cowardly performances attacking wise I have ever witnessed from a United side in over 40 years. We could have played better with the talent we had on the pitch, but there was zero ambition to go forward, something i witnessed for the first time.

Fellaini was an idiot but aguero keeps solidifying his place as one of the biggest cnuts in football. Somehow he gets a pass from the media with all his diving over the years. If his name was Young, he'd have been run out of the country. Great player, too bad he's an A1 shitebag.

Under our previous two managers this match would have been pointless because we'd have nothing to play for.

He is from Argentina.. it is accepted and normal there, he does anything to win, winning mentality, blahblablah... You get that kind of bullshit excuses why his cheating gets allowed so many times. Fellaini was still an massive idiot for falling for it though...

English players arent supposed to dive because it isnt part of English football culture. If a English player dives it is a disgrace... unless ofcourse your name is Steven Gerrard.

We were without two of our best players today and some people complain :wenger:

Don't forget that if we'd converted one of our two blatant misses this game would've been labeled as a tactical masterclass.

We could have done much better with our attack right now I'm happy with this 1 point gain.

Even if we had scored, don't think there was anything to label our approach ''a tactical masterclass". It would have been more of a smash and grab. We had absolutely no control of the flow of the game.

I expected the approach but when we did get the ball we were too careless with it and it was compounded by the fact that asswipe Atkinson was letting them go through our players when we did get the ball to our forward players.

Also not surprising that the hatred for fellaini is streaming out. He has to shoulder some of the blame but that was hands down mostly on Atkinson. He lets them get away with everything and was looking to be center of attention. The cheat Aguerro goes at Fellaini and how he embellishes right in front of him and he took the opportunity to show the world Atkinson is reffing. The FA should have the balls to reverse the call to show cheaters like Aguero that histrionics like his to get players sent off will not be tolerated.

Given it's a straight red we can appeal it.

Doubt we will given it's an obvious red card

What did you think of nasri sending off , vardy incident

I think it was horseshit. I just watched it again and Vardy pushes him first, then he collapses as soon as Nasri retaliates.
Nonsense like this is why we need video replay. It gives football a bad name

Wasn't expecting a tactical masterclass tbh. What we did was what I expected given the injury list and the amount of games we've had to put our squad through. I am disappointed that individuals like Mhki and Fellaini didn't do more to control the game just that little bit more though.

You do remember that under lvg we were 7 points clear of liverpool in 4th in 2015 and 5 behind arsenal with a game in hand over them in 5th in 2016, if this was served up by lvg or moyes they would be crucified but mourinho apparently put in a masterclass, masterclass in what pulis footy.

No one was expecting a barcelona tiki taka from mourinho and mind you i am happy with a point. But this Manchester United FFS, if someone told me pulis or allardyce were managing us today it won't have looked any different. For most if the second half our midfield 3 did not even cross the halfway line, and this is before fellaini got sentoff. Martial and Mkhitaryan were playing like 2nd set of fullbacks never even attempting to attack much. Result and even the performance i can take, but absolute lack of intent is unacceptable. Jose mourinho wants full commitment from his players, it is high we tell mourinho that we too won't accept anything less than adherence to our attacking ways, this isn't chelsea or inter milan that celebrated his kill football strategies, this man utd and he needs to respect our ways.

Not really sure what people expected when we honestly had only three players starting today who could hope to offer any creativity. I was most disappointed in Mkhi since he was brought in to the side for those transitions when he can run at City's defense and be creative in finding Martial and Rashford in space. When he was unable to do that, we had pretty much no chance in scoring barring a piece of magic or a set piece. Our most attacking midfielder was Fellaini ffs, with Ander having to cover miles of ground defensively and Carrick acting as a shield in front of our defense, we were going to be hard pressed to split apart their defense.

It's laughable that people were saying pre-match that we wouldn't miss Pogba, because that's exactly who could have opened up the game for us and allowed us to attack more effectively. All things considered, well earned point but I worry about fatigue for Sunday and moving into next week. The injuries have been brutal on our depth.

Very much expected of our attacking play. Martial-Rashford are both too young to fight against 1. good well rounded teams and 2. teams that parked the bus. They can only put on a show against 3.mediocre teams that play open football with ample space to run behind.

Just watched the match. We were pretty shit. Too slow to the breaking ball, no high press, moves breaking down after three passes, ignoring Rashers runs in behind and Martial.
Now context. We got exactly what we came for. We have had a crazy season with a great unbeaten run yet are most important games are still ahead of us. Mourinho does what Mourinho does and the only issue for me is the entertainment value. So many injuries to key players dictated this result. Fellaini Fellaini, he did what Fellaini does and I would still rather we kept him then Lingard. He did a job up until that diving cnut went down.
Now on to another shit refereeing performance in a United match. He gave us fecking nothing yet strangely got the big decisions right. If he had sense he would have given Fellaini a second yellow and given Aguero yellow for initiating the tap, straight red for that in the last ten minutes at this point in the season is rediculous.
C'MON WATFORD

Shitefest....Fellani is a fecking ape....Aguero made a meal of it....But deserved straight red....We were playing the counter? What counter???? We can't even manage to do that.

If you want to talk about points, right now we're 2 points behind what we finished at last season - 64 now and 66 at the end of last season. We still have 5 games to play. One point behind City and two behind Liverpool, who have played one more game than us. This isn't last season, it's pointless to compare what we're doing to how we did in the last two seasons, and even if you do want to do that you'll see that we're better now than we were then. In terms of points and in terms of our play. Don't spout off about how we look like a Pulis team after one game, against City, where we didn't even lose.

I wasn't comparing this season with last just replying to the poster who said we were already out of top 4 race by this stage under lvg which we clearly weren't. We looked like a pulis team , 1 game or 10 don't really matter, nor does the result. We did not attack for most of the game and that is a fact, from when is it acceptable for a utd team to not even try to win the game, which is what mourinho did, if i were mourinho i would be very happy with fellaini, felli has given him an easy deflector from his tactics today, because if fellaini wasn't sent off, mourinho might have come into lot more scrutiny for his tactics today.

In isolation, an okay result. However our lack of ambition is a problem. After the home game this weekend we have Spurs away, Arsenal away and Southampton away. Are those games so much easier that we can justify playing for a draw last night? Because we probably need to win at least two of those three now.

Defending for a clean sheet for the last 15 minutes or so in a game like that, fine, but not for the whole of the second half.

Of course the truth is probably that Mou is focussed wholly on the Europa and just wants to keep our unbeaten run going.

Given our injuries and our usual gameplan in away matches, good 1 pt earned. City had a great game tbh. Their defenders and attackers did pretty well. If Utd need to play a defensive game like this, they need to be clinical in front of goal. With best chances falling for Utd, we should have nicked it 0-1 or something.
Refereeing was a bit ridiculous. Kept cards in the pocket for too long when Rashford and Miki were being hacked down. Then Fellaini makes a foul and immediately gets the card out.

The red card was fair though. Yes, Aguero did try to get him sent off and made a meal of the headbutt, but Fellaini gave an opportunity for Atkinson to make a decision. Pretty much similar to Oliver sending off Di Maria. His touching of ref was no big deal, but by doing so he gave an option to ref to send him off.

Some really confusing almost meltdown-style reactions here. Almost as if these fans are completely disconnected from the reality of our situation. Injuries, fatigue. I mean, I get the hope that we did well, I was hopeful myself. But I wasn't expecting us to duke it out with City, if we bury that Herrera chance or the Mkhi chance then that would have been an almost perfect outcome.

I just don't really understand how we are supposed to go toe to toe against this kind of anti-football team. Without Ibrahimovic to spanner the ball out to, we were only going to do one thing, let them have the ball and hope to nick a chance and a goal. It nearly NEARLY happened.

As important a point as the Everton game when you put it into perspective. We should be going above Liverpool and hopefully Watford can do us another favor there.

Depressing tactics.
Meh result.
Shit game.

It's so depressing that we still can't keep hold of the ball for more than a minute against actual decent teams. We are bang average, and I was extremely disappointed in José again. I cannot believe we didn't press Bravo at all.

Happy with the performance , happy with the result , I think it was what we had to do given the situation with playing 2-3 matches per week and all our current injuries

Don't understand the Fellaini hatred. He was superb in the first half.
Actually I don't blame him at all - I am also fed up with the lady actresses like Aguero and Costa .

Sergio went to Fellaini with the idea to provoke him and put his head against Fellaini's one and afterwards just went down like a shot pegion .

From a fan's perspective:-

1) Need a win to cement a CL spot in the EPL
2) Winning, especially against Man City would be a great spectacle and allow us to gloat over our rivals
3) Bonus of kicking Liverpool/Man City out of CL

From the manager's perspective:-

1) EPL no longer a priority (no trophy!)
2) Squad depleted through injuries
3) Tough away game at the Etihad
4) Heavy fixtures ahead with more important games in EL coming

Yes, its disappointing that we didn't get 3 points away at the Etihad but you have got to see from Mourinho's angle as well. All in all, a draw is a bonus to us really and we should, like the manager, focus on the silverware from Europe instead.

You can't have everything you know...

With injuries, tiredness, and a match every three days, what do you expect? I am happy with how the game turned out. First half, both sides tried each other out in a half hearted kind of way. 2nd half, Mourinho went tactical, and played to earn a point. Objective attained. Period.

We still have top 4 in our hands.

Got a good joke to use in the office today.

"Hey what was that app a few years ago that was popular. The one where you had to guess what someone was illustrating "

"Draw something"

"No I wanted to know the app was called, not what Manchester United's tactics have been this year"

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Given the context of the game it was a good performance and good result.

The best two chances of the game fell to United (the chance after Bravo's error and the Herrera header). That's with us going into the game with 6 first team injuries having played a crap ton of football over the last several weeks. Especially since the referee decided City players could foul our attackers without reprieve. It'd be a different game if Fernandinho, Zabaleta & Otamendi are rightfully booked after half an hour.

I can't remember De Gea making more than a somewhat routine save either.

The biggest disappointment was Mkhitaryan... He was defensively average and offensively none existent. It was like playing with 10 men (Fellaini you expect to be brain dead).
