LvG: Fellaini was the best man on the pitch.
What? He didnt say that, right?

Sorry I can't seem to find the reason why you posted this. What happened?
Allegedly our away fans sang Hilsborough chants.
I'm starting to hate De Gea. He's a pain in the arse! Good win but there's still a job to be done. If we score at Old Trafford I think it's over.
Neither of us will win the Europa League I don't think.

This is a beaten team before they even step onto the pitch. Maybe under another manager. Van Gaal has coached all the fight out of them. He has coached all the football out of them, really. You score an early goal against us on the night and it'll crank the volume up and anything could happen from there. I'm not going to assume anything until it's over.
It's absolutely disgusting, it wasn't even a minority of people either, could clearly hear it. Bitter dickheads.

Fellaini's challenge on Emre Can: “I have to say that Fellaini was one of the best players on the pitch. I’m very sorry when he makes a mistake like that [alleged foul on Can not punished by the referee]. I haven’t seen it."
Reading a few reports the consensus seems to be that Liverpool is not the finished article by any means by Klopp had his tactics spot on and LVG was just simply being his usual conservative cautious self (i.e., let's sneak an away goal and keeping it close for the return leg). So from the get go we were on the back foot. Worse their players all whooped ours in their respective individual battles and got after us. Our players simply wilted. Sound right?

Agreed. It will be interesting to see whether the inevitable Munich chants, aeroplane gestures get the same level of media attention next week. 2 wrongs don't make a right but I wonder if 'the best fans int he world' will be criticised in similar way by BBC & co.
Timid Liverpool? De Gea was amazingly good and kept the score down singlehandedly. As a neutral, I think Liverpool are getting way too much credit. The only reason United are still in with a shout is because the Scousers totally lacked a cutting edge and clinical nature up front. Honestly, they looked timid at the start but grew into the game (how could they not when United are playing so passively and meek?).
Honestly, I think all it takes is an early United goal at OT next week and that timid Liverpool will be on show again. If they get to ~30 minutes still 0-0, I'm afraid they'll probably do you on the counter attack.
As soon as Herrera and Morgan have built up an understanding he has broken that up as well. Does he realise that good teams are built on partnerships all over the pitch and understanding. This club is being run by old men, yes I'm going to say it, living in the past and complete and utter imbeciles.I'm sure that every player goes through a bad spell - but we're talking about virtually every player, and pretty much every game. That's not normal.
Every time we have 'a run' the team is chopped and changed - sometimes from necessity, but frequently, not.
For instance, Herrera and Mata had a great partnership last year. How can that develop when they're in and out of the side?
There's too much wrong for it just to be the players and imo it started with the stupid philosophy of possession football because it's stifled any natural instinct/ability.
There's absolutely no composure at the back any longer.I'm not watching that many United matches, but haven't seen so many hoofs from defense or hail marys to the frontal area of the pitch in a while. Is this a thing in the PL still? If not, it's a sign of a deeply discouraged team.
We were never going to be up for it, just look at the build up for the game. Klopp was all over the game really excited and that tranmitted to his players. LvG more or less played the game down. He has no idea how to motivate his players. You'd think we'd be up for this game given it's our last chance for CL.
He certainly did. What? He didnt say that, right?
Accoding to Talksport this morning UEFA are looking into the chanting. Just what we need.Have the BBC or anyone else criticised the United fans?
We know. You're lucky it was only 2. DDG is a genius.

Yeah I agree the rotation has killed us, I'm not sure what the idea behind that is, but that's definitely a managerial fault.
Mata has arguably been one of our best players recently and then goes and ballsed it up against west brom. Herrera has actually been very inconsistent this season, so I would put it down to the players on that example. I do agree there is probably too many to solely be the players, but I think it's all come from the players not playing to the standard they should be playing at and that has subsequently caused poor decisions from the manager, that he's forced to do with an underperforming squad. Again, I'm not saying he shouldn't be sacked for it, as ultimately he has the final say on things. I really don't blame him as much as some do though and I think our problems are far deeper rooted
Agree with your sentence, but he hasn't helped. Signings-wise especially, apart from Martial.
Anyone still reckon we are in contention for a top 4 finish?
It's kind of scary that you can analyse the game this accurately without even watching it. Says a lot about Van Gaal and United in general.I went to a gig instead of watching the game.
I saw the starting line up and decided I'd give going straight home to watch it on record after a miss aswell, so I just got home.
I can tell you now, without watching a minute of the game, that Liverpool would have pressed high up the pitch, and the players LVG chose to play at centreback and in midfield, would have been unable to cope. If I'm wrong fair dos but I'd put money on not being, because Scheniederlin and Blind have zero composure under pressure, which means we picked a team relying on the passing ability of Smalling and Fellaini.
We're left as usual with the inescapable conclusion that Van Gaal either never watches any football games at all (including our ones), or much more worryingly, does.
As a neutral, I think Liverpool are getting way too much credit.
