Positives The result and no injuries
Negatives Everything else.

I'm not confident that we'll knock them out.

Fellaini and Mkhi played well.

At least the home leg won't be a complete waste of money.

Good result tbh. Obviously it will feel especially dull after the last two days of CL but at least both teams tried to attack and Rostov deserved the draw.

Got the away goal and a result. Awful match to watch but at least the goals were nice. No injuries.

Should beat the vodka out of this lot come second leg.

Decent result.

Is Russia even in Europe?! ;)

3 5 2 will never work for us

It has worked for us. An away goal and no injuries. The sides of the pitch were far better than the rest so it was smart all around by Jose and although it's disappointing to have conceded, we should be fine at OT.

OK result, puts us firmly in control going into the second leg at OT. Moreover, conditions at OT will be far superior to whatever sort of surface we just played on.

As ugly as expected, got the important away goal and mostly dealt well with the horrid surface, shame we gave such a sloppy goal away.

Horror show. Don't doubt for a minute that it was exactly what Mourinho wanted.

Minimal effort, no injuries and a decent result. Good game management from Jose, despite serving up what was a crime against sport.

We fought hard. Not clear how you were meant to play on that pitch. They were better 2nd half. We were slightly better first half. Ref seemed to get a lot of decisions wrong.

All things considered it's a decent night.

Should have more than enough to beat these next week. No injuries either.

That game was awful, and the ref made it even worse. He was fecking awful.

One of those grinds, but saw it out, and kept a few players fairly fresh for the weekend.

Even Bayern lost on this pitch. All things considered to get away with an away goal advantage and no injuries is really a great result for us.

OT should be a formality, and if we lose there then the team will deserve stick, but not tonight. Don't underestimate how difficult that was for them.

Happy with that
Tactics wrong at home to Bournemouth. Tactics totally right today

Enjoyed the first half, other than a moment of lack of concentration by Jones in the 2nd we'd have won that.

Pitch was terrible, bounce and sand, add the wind - take a point from that game

Rostov's players seem to be made of paper and ref fell for their theatrics every time.

Fellaini did well and my MOM

Those expecting free flowing passing football, have never played football in those conditions.

Really didn't expect anything else other than a scrappy game. Predicted a 1-1 draw so I can't really say I'm surprised at the outcome. Onto Chelsea now. Would love another horrible game with a draw, so we can possible nick it in extra time or penalties.

All of the love of the team ... what an utterly awful game of football.

Sure the pitch and Rostov tactics were influential, but i also think Mourinho's entire approach since arriving set the mood: a belief that it would be a hard game barely possible to win. The formation and mindset of the team seemed the most negative I've seen from Mourinho @mufc so far.

I disagree with that approach as the pitch didn't seem that bad and Rostov players were very average and low on skills - a positive mindset couples with an attacking 433 would have won it for us.

Still, a draw and an important away goal is not bad - we should spank these guys at OT - just have to go for the jugular.

Poor pitch and therefore hard to judge. No injuries thankfully.

Think a few players still had stinkers in spite of the pitch to give them a reason.

I cared so little that I started trying to be funny, and that never works. Also, when I recall the advertisements on TV more than the game itself, you know it was a forgettable match. It was pretty much the worst line-up we could have gone for. Swap Carrick for Herrera and Darmian for Young and it would be 100% clear that Mourinho went all in for big physical players for this one.

They look better than Bournemouth who we couldn't beat with 10 men. And we're still pathetic at corners even with a team full of giants!!
