I personally thought that Obi looked out of his depth and why he hasn’t featured a lot for the first team.
The kids aren’t always the answer especially in a non-functioning team.

He may not have been great, but far more involved.

Chido Obi:
Minutes: 27
Touches: 10
Passes: 6
Shots: 0
Aerial Duels: 1
Loss of Possession: 3

Rasmus Hojlund:
Minutes: 70
Touches: 12
Passes: 7
Shots: 0
Aerial Duels: 0
Loss of Possession: 3

Young was lucky not to get sent off. He was already on a yellow card. Once the referee had decided that he had dived then he has to book him.

I watched this as a rerun, not knowing the score. How close i was to giving up at half time. Holy cow how shit that was... I literally wanted to slap all the players in their face and ask them what it takes for them to give a damn. Not that the 2nd half was anything to shout from the rooftops about. We were still shit, only Everton decided to stop playing in the way that mad us look utter crap, and decided to play in a way that mad them look equally shit. Our xG should still be on the losing side i assume.

Like others have said, i just want us to get mathematically safe from relegation.
As for Amorim, i dunno man, he needs to start improving players. Nothing has become better since he took the reigns. Nothing. I want him to succeed, of course, but after months in charge, i need to see some improvement. Being stubborn and sticking to his system is fine. I can respect that. But he can't keep on indefinitely without improvement.
Not to say a change is gonna make anything better. But people at this club need to act like they give a damn. Hence the "slap in the face" from the first half. Everyone is acting like this is some kind of a sunday league the don't even wanna be a part of. Have some pride and bloody honor. If you're gonna lose, at least give it your all. I think all the players would have our respect if they did. But many of them don't, at least not on a regular basis.
Oh well ,rant over i guess. Now on to dreading wednesday...

Onana doing his best to gift the game to Everton. Seriously, those rebounds. Every match!
He is an absolute liability. How he gets picked over our 2nd and 3rd choice keepers in beyond me. They can't possibly be worse than he is. Can they ?

Yeah, but i gave Højlund a 2/10 rating, so not exactly like comparing to Péle...
Anyways, i'm not here to bash the youth, it's not on Chido Obi to turn this around. That said, Højlund is not that old either, but he has had a lot more chances. I expect him to do a lot more than he did today, it was abysmal.

xg: 0.65. xGA: 2.10. So yeah.

If shirt pulling in the penalty area is a straight penalty then we would have about ten in every game.

Not suggesting he was better than Hojlund but he wasn’t the answer and probably won’t be for a while.

I couldn't see the game today and am not disappointed, I was able to listen to the first half and decided to just not bother 2nd half, until I got a ping on my phone following the Bruno goal.

Have just watched the "highlights" such as they were...

For me the takeaways

Maguire and Onana should be benched, between them were responsible for goals conceded against Spurs and Everton, just puts us under pressure, this season we have put ourselves in so much trouble by giving away goals through unforced errors.

Chido-Obi did very little to shout about but he does not look out of place making the step up, was as good as Hojlund, whose confidence is shot, Chido is full on confidence starting him next game could be good for both players.

Dorgu has yet to be poisoned by the Utd apathy, how many players come in and play with positivity and heart? give him a few games and he will be a jaded as the rest, hope not because he is looking like a player who definitely improves us.

Ugarte has to play, Casemiro should just not, just pay him off and play Kone and Collyer at least they can run

Zirkzee has no middle ground either looks like Zidane or Djemba-Djemba

We were defensively awful today. Some individual catastrophic performances, especially Maguire, reminding everyone how truly awful he can be. De Ligt and Onana also both terrible.

We are missing wingers badly, no outlet high and wide up the pitch, apart from the odd Dorgu run and eventually when Garnacho came on, who I think changed the game massively (as he did coming on against Leicester).

Hojlund is adding absolutely nothing at the minute. He is shot of confidence, and looks like a lost puppy up front. I massively doubt he can make it in the Premierleague.

So no different from the previous 10 years.
We got lucky to draw with Everton. It’s shocking to see how much standards have dropped.

Everton have improved under Moyes. We have declined under Amorim. Did we hire the wrong manager?

I don’t think we really learned anything from that except the obvious, we know what these players produce on a consistent basis, the only bright spark was Dorgu, a kid found previously playing for Lecce.. that’s pretty disgusting really isn’t it.
I’m certainly not his biggest fan, but It’s the first time I’ve ever thought “this team could do with Mount actually” .. there’s just so little movement once we get past defence. The wingbacks end up just smacking it across goal into a defender, over and over again, there’s nobody dragging defenders around to create space, they play like kids

One of our problems is that every time a player looks like they are improving, they then have a terrible match.

I wonder why Eriksen didn't sub in near the end. He still has the leg to play 15 minutes against tired opponent. That should be his role, and most likely much better at creativity, passing, and posing more goal threat than Zirkzee.

I missed the first goal when watching live but my word that is such an embarrassing goal to concede. Dalot and Maguire should take up comedy, incredible stiff

I'm not having it that you're a United fan. You've posted a lot of negative stuff about the manager, wanting him fired if we lost today and are now arguing a blatant dive is a penalty.
Well said. Name fits I suppose

Rio right to point out that during games when the system isn't working, you need to be less stubborn and more flexible. Doesn't mean dropping system all together forever more... and pundits on MoTD right to point out that Amorim appears not be getting across to the players what it is that he wants. They look lost so much of the time

Players have been bad, team looks disjointed but the boss isn't immune from criticism. I still think he'll quit sometime next season if he can't get the players he thinks can play his system.

All that said, at half time I thought we'd be lucky to get away with less than a 4-0 so it was a good comeback but I think it helped that Everton were guilty of what we often did last season: not going for the throat

Maguire was even worse for the second. Once again out of position, once again too slow to recover and once again so easy to turn even when the player let him get back in

Everton should have won this that was probably the worst United performance of the season so far. For Everton this draw will feel like a loss.

Urgency, Desire, Effort. The intangibles which so many of these players lack. Today the biggest culprits were Casemiro, Rasmus and Zirkzee.
We’ve got a lot of languid players who don’t smell trouble, and like to slow the game far too much for the EPL.

We seriously can’t play Maguire and MDL together again. We need Mazroui, Maguire and Yoro as starting three CB’s.

But we need to replace Onana this season, he’s been an unmitigated disaster, cost us in the CL last year, cost us in the league two years running, he’s not good enough to be united number 2 GK, we need to see if we can sell him in Italy or Spain for £25m to someone and go get James Trafford for the same money in the summer but as soon as Bayinder or Heaton returns they should be promoted to end of season.

Dorgu looks a decent signing, but we need to find another Attacking solution from the youth set up, Biancheri would be the best bet as he has excellent movement and could play inside left 10 or inside right 10, I also think Dalot needs a rest for a few games and B Mantato or V Musa could help the squad.

They like to slow the game down because they know they are slow and don't have the energy or fitness to keep the intensity for 90 minutes. It's almost like they are conserving their energy. I agree with your point about Maguire and MDL playing together and Onana. Having a spine of Onana, Maguire, Casemiro, Bruno and Rasmus is pretty much committing footballing harikiri.
