A really poor performance. I wish we'd just tried Mason as the number 9, Martial spends far too much time not in the box and it baffles me that that hasn't been addressed all season.

First half we looked composed in control and coasting bar De gea's mindless error.

2nd half we lost composure and gave the ball away inexplicably at times, long balls on to everton centre backs heads...it was so poor and we were lucky in the end.

Tale of 2 halves and tale of 2 centre backs too, Maguire again immense easily our player of the season... and LIndelof clumsy, lacking positional awareness and being bullied by richarlison and that cheat calvin lewin.

Thought ref was poor. Happy with how we defended the corners. Should have won though. Martial and Greenwood had poor games. Bruno was excellent, Ighalo unlucky at the end it was a good save. Thought we would lose after the shambles at the start but happy we got a point.

The good

Last season we got trashed at Everton
Bruuuno
Defense from set pieces was good

The bad
The ref was shite. So many fouls from behind not sanctioned. Everton disrupted our play in midfield
Martial was aweful

I am not sure if going with Fred,McT,Matic and Bruno was a good option. Maybe we needed bodies in central midfield but wr had no width. We should have opened the game up a bit that way.

With theae 3 in the game we did not have anyone to come in and add some legs in midfield as the game progrssed.

We only have Bruno with creative might to do something and this has to change

Mata and Williams should have come in sooner

Felt like a point won vs 2 points dropped.

A tale of two halves with the second being a particular dissapointment from our POV. But all in all, a good point. If we can come out of the City and Spurs games and still be within touching distance of Chelsea, then we can surely take the 4th spot. With our run-in looking favourable in comparison.

Paul Pogba will also be key for us as the second string to our central attacking threat along with Bruno. Pogba is a maverick and will IMO turn the tide in our favour for the top 4 race. I expect us to finish at least 4th and I wouldn't be surprised if we finished 3rd.

I was impressed with the first half. Obviously a nightmare mistake by Dave but the way the team responded and dominated the half was refreshing. Bruno really at the centre of things. Thought Maguire and Matic had good games.

Second half we weren't quite at it and allowed them to dictate the game. The subs didn't really do anything for us, but of course, McTominay playing 70 minutes is probably as much as he can take so early after coming back.

We really lacked pace on the counter - Mason had one opening there and he couldn't really take advantage. Is James injured? Would have been the most fitting sub to throw on in the last 20 minutes.

Stop the Martial experiment, he is not a striker. He is just a left winger impersonating as a striker. How shots did he take in the whole game? How many runs does he make behind the defence? NBA basketball is about statistics. I would really think to see his statistics versus other strikers in the league. To Ole, please do your research!!! You should know if Martial is the answer. It is already more than 1/2 season with so many games gone. You should know what kind of player he is. Stop being blinded by your favouritism. Iglaho had 1 shot at goal, safe by the keeper. Made a fantastic run only to be block by Baines. We could have a winner at Everton.

That's a big if but I hope you're right.

Mata for all his IQ was diabolical when he came on.
Fair enough if you seen it that way. I seen a highly intelligent player nearly creating a goal. Unfortunately Mata's legs are gone but he reads the game like Bruno. That's my point.

There was reports coming out from France that he will be available for the City game which is up next for us in the league.
Given that he wasn't even on the bench today I'd say that's not happening. Maybe if he gets subbed on at Derby.

I say it's interfering with the play. It's not like walking from an offside position while another player shoots.
It's more like standing in front of the keeper in an offside position when a free kick is taken and then moving away so the ball goes into the net.

Despite the howler, the first half was refreshing.

Actually felt relaxed watching the first 45 because there was an authority and control to our play that has often been lacking. Dare I say systematic.

Mind you, I lost my shit when they scored in the 90th minute.

I felt there were many positives today.

I felt Everton were dirty as feck today though and we dealt with it well.

Tough place to go, especially with them on good form. We have to see it as a good point.

I felt from our remaining fixtures if we could win them all and get a point each from the Everton and city games that would be great

After the howler and subsequently the save from DCL we dominated the first half and Pickford helped us to a goal but we didn't make enough of the domination. Everton turned it around in the 2nd half and we had to defend really well and make top class saves to get away with a draw in the end although Ighalo could have nicked it.

Our subs didn't make a positive impact sadly and that might have something to do with us changing shape twice because of them? Was a bit odd that.

Thought the refereeing was absolutely shambles. Most likely the worst I've seen from a match of ours this season.

They lost to Arsenal after leading twice. Of course they're terrible. Just goes to show how low our standards have dropped.
They are a good team though. We have also played a game on Thursday meaning our boys were naturally more fatigued. I am disappointed that we couldn’t beat them but a draw doesn’t look bad on us in isolation.

I may be completely wrong but think there is more frustration with the draw today because we have such a tough game next Sunday.

I feel if we had someone in the bottom half there would be more confidence in getting straight back to winning ways. We also haven't achieved a league double over City since 2010.

We have three wins in our last ten visits at Goodison. A good point though - Fernandes & Ighalo could have snatched it at the death. Nevertheless, not too unhappy about it.

Last ten games:

City (h)
Tottenham (a)
Sheffield (h)
Brighton (a)
Bournemouth (h)
Villa (a)
Southampton (h)
Palace (a)
West Ham (h)
Leicester (a)

How many points, Reds?

Not enough. We're a work in progress missing our best player (rashford imo).

Any team good enough for the Champions League should be winning those last 8 games. I think we’ll fall short though.

Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa and West Ham will all be scrapping for points to avoid relegation so won't be the gimme's you'd hope for. We should still beat the 4 of them but wouldn't be shocked to drop points to bournemouth maybe.
3 Points from City, Leicester and Spurs would probably be a good haul overall. You'd expect all 3 to be favourites in each match.
I fancy us against Sheffield United, Palace and Southampton. None have much to play for and Sheffield look to be slowing down a bit.

22 points
Probably optimistic

The result was fair but we threw two points away with a very poor second half that was not the result of brilliant opposition play.

Bruno needs a creative partner, perhaps a World Cup winning midfielder who on his best day is easily the top footballer in this league, KDB notwithstanding.

Ighalo should have started the game. A player who actually wants to get into the box and score. I have simply given up on Martial and his occasional brilliance. Our fullbacks offer nothing going forward. Midfield crumbles while trying to retain the ball under pressure. Bruno looks a great signing for us. Fred was awesome and becoming a really important part of the team. De Gea needs to be put of his misery. Let him go to PSG and give Romero a chance.

h I agree that Ighalo should start as we need his presence in the box BUT he is the type who will need service ie crosses into the box who the hell us going to provide those ? Martial is infuriating to watch never wants to get in the box always looking to score 1 type of goal cut in from left and right foot into top corner which is great when it comes off but we need a predator

Good old Caf. Up to 11 pages, because we didn't win. Last two games got to 6 or 7 pages. People love a good whine, delighted to come out of the woodwork after a "bad" result.

This wasn't even a bad result. Lot of our fans just think we should have a God-given right to win every game. Circumstances never taken into account, like Europe in midweek, or having to come from behind against an in-form home team after a howler from our error-prone keeper.

The question is, how many do Chelsea win?

Everton (h)

Think I prefer our run in to theirs to be honest.

The first half yesterday is one the best I've seen from us away from home in the last years. I rate it even more with the reaction we had after the goal and how quickly we got recomposed, considering the mental fraility we've showed at times after conceding a goal.

If we play this game in the first months of the season and we concede early, it ends in a massacre more than probably. Well, we saw it last year more or less at this stage of the season. Comparing both games we're clearly a different animal now.

Some margin to improve still as we lost the structure in our game in the second half, and the last 10-15 minutes they looked much more determined. If we could manage the ball better we would keep a better control and stability in those moments, but we're not there yet.

We did in the first half, but we couldn't manage their aggressive pressing in the second half. It's work in progress after all, so I'd take a valuable point in a difficult place.

I found it amazing that for the players lauded as comfortable with the ball at their feet, De Gea, Lindelof and Maguire are fecking nervous on the ball. Watford game and this, playing from the back is becoming more dangerous and more nervous to them as the game went on.
There are moments in Watford game that got me thinking, better team will punish this tic tack between the three of them.
Lindelof isn't the best partner for Maguire, he'll do better as his backup. We still need a commanding centerback, a Vidic type of defender to complement Maguire.

Also, Fred is doing my head in. Lost too many balls and I still don't see what everyone is praising about his passing range

How good was Andre Gomes?! Without him, we'd have been able to dominate more. Only just back from his horror injury too, how is a player of his standards at Everton!?

Looked like a team who had played on Thursday against a difficult team who had not. Could have been better, but could have been a lot worse. Just take the point and walk away. Great signing that VAR bloke.

Chelsea will drop points for fun. We need to put a 5-6 game run together and we will be ahead of them. We have the potential to do that in my opinion.

Really good first half minus De Gea's shocking moment. Another tactical/formation setup available to us but the change in the second half with the substitution of Greenwood did not help. If you are going to play Ighalo I would prefer with have other wide forwards to maximise the pitch and give him the space to work.

Every time we get into decent positions to push on it seems someone decides to gift an early goal, always going to be difficult from then on especially away from home. The usual suspects will try to push agenda's but you cannot blame anyone but DeGea for that stupidity. The CL spots are still wide open and I don't think any team other than the top two are in great form. Interesting run in.

I thought we controlled the game 1st half and defended really well 2nd half. Both of which are reasons to be cheerful

The forwards didn't do enough 2nd half though.

De Gea has never been lauded at being good with the ball at his feet and Maguire was motm yesterday so not sure what the hell you're on about.
