PL D FA Premier League

Everton 1:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Sun, 04 December 2016

Very good for 70 minutes. We pulled back too soon though, lost composure and they were piling on the pressure. Knew we shouldnt have changed anything, was finely poised but thanks to the biggest cnut at the club- fellaini- we throw it away. Cant believe the guy is still at United let alone gets games. God it just makes me hate Moyes so much more that he brought Fellaini to the club. Biggest mistake we've ever made. And for almost 30 fecking million too. Just feck off.
Anyway, rant about fellaini is over. Just hope he never plays again.

Onto the positives.... Mkhitaryan class, herrera class, ibra class, martial with a good second half, valencia very good, and in general we shouldve been out of sight but didnt finish them on and it gave them encouragement. I know we wont get top 4 so who gives a feck at this point. Priority this season is getting us consistent to go into next season and winning the cups. To start, stop playing any player who shouldnt be here next year. I.e, get rid of fellaini, schneiderlin, probably rojo/darmian, memphis, and just never play them. Ever.

1. Fellaini should be released by the club
2. We are very likely to finish in 6th this season

We just don't have the required winning mentality, Fellani today , if it was not him someone else in a red jersey would have fooked up , it is what we do now. We expect the worst to happen , the opposition sense we cannot put anyone away and it all leads to what we are seeing now on a consistent basis.

We console ourselves by saying we didn't deserve to drop pts etc but at this level you get what you deserve. We are running out of excuses at this stage , I remember a time when the result was everything to Utd , now we embarrass ourselves by talking up performances with little results.

13 pts off the top of the table and December only started, embarrassing position to be in for a Club like us that has thrown the financial resources we have at it.

Another draw. fecking hell. I said earlier that the one goal lead would cost us again. Sure enough, it has.

fecking hell I hate that player. Needs to go ASAP.

It's different to the other games in that we weren't the clear better games. But still, cannot throw away a lead at that point in a game.

Mourinho needs to start being braver.

We had that game in our pocket but threw control of the game back to Everton for no reason. At 70 mins Valencia started wasting time. What the feck?

Then Mkhitarian coming off was daft. He was our best player.

Martial was doing very well defensively. Didn't see the point again.

Fellaini is a clumsy player who hasn't featured much of late. Senseless player and unnecessary decision.

Seasons done. Go all out in the cups cause we sure as shit ain't getting top 4.

The only thing that makes me feel better is thinking about Liverpool earlier on.

It's not just today. Fellaini is shit. Not UTD quality. Not anywhere near. Sell him, give him away. Will cost us less in the long run.

So, for the first time this season we put in a dirty/battling performance. This is the sort of match we need to win 1-0, when we are not playing well.
Then on comes Everton's MOTM - Fellaini. Who incidentally was all hugs with this Everton mates. He probably promised to help them out today, if he got on the pitch.
Within a few minutes, he gave Everton a penalty.

Yet another 1-1 draw, in the league!
No doubt, if we have a cup game midweek, we'll put another 4 goals past that team, but when we come back to the league, it'll be another 1-1.

This is so frustrating.

We are never going to get where we want to be when we have players such as Rojo, Darmian and Fellaini playing for us. They wouldn't get anywhere the squads of any other top 4 teams in ANY of the big leagues yet they continue to play regular first team football for us.

Still such a poor squad yet its been so expensively assembled.

Mourinho and the players are equally to blame, as soon as Everton upped the tempo in the last 20minutes the cowards in red got deeper and deeper and couldn't string two passes together. Mourinho compounded this negativeness by bringing on that bog brush.

A 1 goal lead is a sh!te lead, when will we learn. Its just rinse repeat.

We actually played really well. Great intensity. Credit to Everton, they played their pants off. Oh and sell Fellaini

We played well up until the 75th minute or so. After that it was dreadful. Dropped too deep and weren't able to keep the ball. We were probably tiring after the midweek game.

Absolutely spineless from this team. Once we crossed 60 minutes we couldn't string two balls together. Bunch of individuals in this "team". Pogba and Ibrahimovic taking 10 touches and losing the ball in the second half when one would have done. Zero bravery to keep playing football. Instead we start playing hoof ball and sitting back until the inevitable happens. I haven't been more ashamed of this team in a long time.

I've no problem with the draws against every team at home in the past while because we played good football. But losing that match today was nothing but cowardice for abandoning that style of play and just hoping that we held on, against a bang average Everton team.

Don't
What did he do? No way in hell was that a penalty.
Don't be so deluded!
Fellaini is an accident waiting to happen. There was never any need to panic yet he sends on the worst player we've bought in 20 years.
Spineless and tactless

We've been unlucky in several games this season but not this one. Got exactly what we deserved by sitting back and letting them back into the game. We were lucky to be ahead and we improved a little in the second half but never really looked particularly good. Fellaini a complete waste of space as always, but we can't keep sitting back on one goal leads, it's asking for results like this.

Mourinho cost us the game with his negative subs. Yes we were under the cosh, not looking like throwing the points away though. Throwing on an half confident Rashford and useless was never going to help us see things out.

How Fellaini still at United and playing games is beyond my understanding. United stopped playing again after playing them off the pitch. Confidence or Mourinho logic, I can't decide.

Really should have killed the game off, were lacking that killer instinct.

The passing was poor. Jones, Rojo and De Gea were our best players. Pogba should have done a lot better and the rest were fine but nothing more.

Ultimately the inability to keep the ball and finishing the game off with the 2nd goal cost us yet again in a walking mistake that manifests itself as Marrouane Fellaini.

I never want to see Fellaini in a United shirt again, and if I do, I don't ever want to see Jose in the United dugout ever again.

10 inexcusable points dropped in our last 7 or so games. I'm fuming.

Ridiculous from fellaini & its obvious we are more fluid without pogba. He slows play down by holding the ball too long. We missed in form Rooney.Jose needs to start making the big desisions , even if they reflect badly on him. I.e.. pogba shouldn't be a nailed on starter.

Miserable weekend, this result slightly cheered me up.

Do people really think Mourinho orders them to sit back? Interested

He should have made subs to rectify it but dont think that was down to him

The only thing that makes me feel better is thinking about Liverpool earlier on.

They are 9 points ahead of us and battling to win the title. Are you are LFC supporter?

Mata should've been brought on so we could hold the ball.

We completely surrendered dominance and allowed a donkey like Fellaini to get caught out.

Until we start burying games we'll be facing these results all season.
Absolutely. Having Mata and Blind (instead of either one of Rojo/Darmian who just led us to losing possession again and again) on would've made a difference :(

As I've said before, it's a bit pointless to play decent football if we're are incapable to grind out anything. So it's all a bit pointless really.

Blow another lead. We aren't going to get anywhere in the league this year, that much is obvious but it's a sickener to concede late again.

We were lucky to have 11 men on the pitch in fairness. The referee was very lenient with his cards today for both teams.

We should have seen the game out but Fellaini has just compounded his position as least popular United player ever. Absolute donkey and a liability. Hope he doesn't get near the bench anytime soon, let alone the first 11.

as soon as lets hoof it and hope Ibra brigs down and start something i knew we were about to drop more points.

Fellaini sub will never work to serve any tactics.

To be fair, we were toothless this game. Didn't deserve to win. And with a manager who has no balls to make the necessary changes, we're not going to get anywhere.

I'm really close to giving up on this club.

Moyes... Van Gaal... Mourinho. Same shit, different name.

Done with this shit.

Fella....you don't give up on your team. Been supporting united for 40 years...I've been though much worse than this. Most supporters throughout the leagues go through this and worse, we've lived through a golden era, doesn't happen to many teams at all...in fact just Liverpool and us! We are moving forward, but I don't think this season we will see much fruit!

Can't blame Fellaini. All we done was keep giving the back to them. Jose was right a complete lack of mental strength.

I do blame Fellaini for this one but you are right about us just booting it back to them

Wasn't on Rashford at all. We parked the bus after scoring and Arsenal looked like scoring ever since. Just like today. It's on José.
Don't want to go over old ground, rashford shows his man inside and they don't score, simple, they didn't create anything else.
Jose needs to share blame with that useless tit today tho

If the league wasn't already lost, I guess I'd be more upset.

Can't say I'm surprised at the result though. Only thing missing was a bunch of missed chances, otherwise, par for the course.

Really disappointed - but honestly the Arse game felt much worse because it came out of nothing. As many have mentioned, you could see the goal coming, even before the sub.

The new guys seem to have a clause in their contracts that allows them to play 90mins every game and thus holding the club back.. Fellaini should had replaced Zlatan 70mins in when it was clear he got nothing left in the tank..
