Having a few celebratory drinks despite work in the morning. Feel great after that result. Back in the Champions League.
i just bought 10 beers tonight for the match to watch tonight game with my friend and we finished them all. Good game :) He doesn't drink alcohol.

Just imagine...

Great scenario - PSV, Olympiakos and Astana :smirk:

Not so great - Barcelona, Roma and Wolfsburg

We played well. Some really nice stuff. Performance wise, I don't think it means a lot in the grand scheme of things. Result wise, it means we're back in the Champions League :)

That look is like "and you said he was any good???"

I read it as an 'I told you so' and acknowledgement of it. But I can't tell which way round.

- Good to be back in the champion league.
- Proved again. We don't have trouble with teams who try to attack us. Liverpool, City, Spurs last season and Brugge 2nd legs, they all played with high defensive line and pressed us in Midfield.

Good performance away from home. Januzaj had a very, very poor game and just did not take his chance. Our midfield should be Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger along with Herrera as the #10. Young needs to come in on the right instead of Mata, he will provide a threat from the wide area and help open up the defense.

Can't comment as I only saw the highlights. Goals looked superb though. Was expecting a bore score draw, glad to be wrong.

It's good to see tonight that result and performance came together... And on another night we could of had 6/7 at least.

What's happened to Hernandez though? Before he went to Real he was all about the end product. Now he seems better on the ball but his finishing was awful. OK the penalty slip can happen but that chance he missed from a couple of yards out was awful.

So the Fellaini number 9 or number 10 thing was all a massive con job by LVG? Do you think it worked? Are we even deeper than Jose in psych ops territory? Or wtf?

Mata played some beautiful stuff though, and won the ball quite effectively on a few occasions.

Only saw the highlights :(

Nice to see Rooney getting into good positions and also having nice passes played to him. Attack looked very good.

He simply is not a threat on the right. He keeps drifting in which allows the defenders to stay keep their shape and focus more attention on Rooney and Memphis. Not doubting Mata's footballing quality, it's just that he provides absolutely no threat from the wide area. This is not just based on 1 game, our right side looks paralyzed.

Best thing about tonight's game was watching Rooney and Memphis linking up. Criticized both of them after the Newcastle game because they played very selfish.

Perfect result but perhaps ever so slightly deceiving. Don't want to be the pessimist here, but our first half was a bit iffy - we gave them enough opportunities to score at least one, maybe two. Our passing was erratic, Herrera could easily have picked up a second yellow, and the sureness of our midfield in recent weeks seemed to have disappeared. Perhaps Schneiderlin was a big miss?

Considering this was a makeshift Club Brugge side missing half-a-dozen regular starters, we were fortunate to go in 1-0 up. Thankfully, the second goal came soon after and then Brugge just lost the plot and left huge gaping goals in their search for a consolation goal.

Great to see Rooney getting the hat-trick and we showed some good passing in the second half, but this wasn't much of a test. Job done, now let's take the confidence and put in a commanding and threatening performance at Swansea.

Great result tonight, nice to see us get a few goals and especially to see Rooney get a hat trick. Not too fussed who we get in our group, I'm just delighted we're back there.

Well played lads. Januzaj was really poor in the first half though, disappointingly. Our counter-attacking and general attacking play was really good in the second half. I know it's 'only Brugge' but hopefully it is a sign of things to come.

We created more chances vs Newcastle too so hopefully this is the team gelling. Another clean sheet too. Shaw is incredible, I truly believe he can become the best left-back in the world if he stays fit.

Swansea will be a really difficult game and if we can win that I would be absolutely delighted.

Club Bugger seemed to have more spirit about them at Old Trafford and at times we struggled. Tonight they looked beaten from the start.

Beating Bugger over two legs is a good start, but by no means cause to get too excited about taking on the big boys in Europe.

It's really not just about beating Burgge. It's about getting back in Europe, where we rightly belong. We opened up the door to take on whoever. A chance for bigger thing, is all :) I so miss the CL

So, Rooney's back on top of the penalty takers list? Though, Mata could still be ahead...

I can understand why they gave that one to Chicharito, but I would like to see Schweinsteiger in the penalty takers list from now on.

Our fullbacks are fantastic aren't they? Great to see Shaw stay fit and Darmian could turn out to be the buy of the summer! Unknown to most as well.
What I loved was seeing Schweinsteiger, Carrick, Herrera AND Mata on the same pitch all linking up well! We will pass teams to death if this happens more!(I only like Mata wide if Herrera plays though ;)

The weird thing is we should have had 8 goals tonight. Rooney's 1 on 1, Depay's 1 on 1, Hernandez' penalty and two-yard tap-in. Those are four chances that absolutely should have ended up in the back of the net.

Darmian could turn out to be the buy of the summer! Unknown to most as well.

When is this myth going to go away? You hardly have to be some kind of FM hipster to have known a fair bit about him, he'd played (and shone) against England twice for Italy ffs.

Oh, and did anyone else reckon something wasn't quite right with the pitch? About ten minutes in I noticed we were consistently lifting the ball in our passing whenever we wanted to move it fast. Lots of short passes were being chipped a bit. Once I'd noticed it it was impossible to ignore. Given how many players were slipping over without obvious cause, I reckon the turf was a bit shitty, which could well have contributed to the scrappy start to the game.

Good performance, but we never have a problem against teams that come out and attack us, it's the defensive ones who park the bus that we struggle against.

But nonetheless, good performance and lots of chances created, even if Brugge defended horribly.
Makes me think we're playing the wrong game really. Our defence has been solid so far, and we have a lot of players who can play brilliant passes on the counter. We'll never do it, but it would be nice to see Van Gaal try a strategy where we soak up pressure and then play in the space left behind.

Brugge are shit and that's not being negative at all. They just are.

Still, some excellent play and obviously the most important thing was saw tonight was the return of Rooney's excellent finishing. Eager to see what Rooney shows up on Sunday against Swansea.

Also a small shout to Bastian's epic assist.

No, they are not.

A lot of clubs would struggle with half the first team squad unavailable and just 4 or 5 of the best XI fit.
Not really surprising that a Belgian team's defence struggles with 4 of their 5 best CB's unavailable while having to attack.

Glad to be back in the Champions League. Missed it last season.

The game was ok. The opposition was so poor that you don't want to read too much into it.

Nice that Wayne got a hatrick. Pleased with Herrera's 15 odd minutes in the second half after the terrible time he had in the first.

Why do you think so? Because I fully expect to see a counterattacking strategy against certain teams. It won't happen too often though, agreed.

After seeing this game i think this is out best team atm :
-----------Romero----------/
Darmian-smalling-blind-shaw
------Morgan--bastian--------
-----------Hererra-------------
Mata-------------------Memphis
-----------Rooney---------------

Kudos to Brugge to keep coming though they could have seen out the match after going down 0-2.
They almost would have scored with so many of our players itching to go forward.

Sometimes crap happens in a game. Let us see how he fares as the season goes. Anyone could have missed a sitter. Though I have my fingers crossed that he has not become crap forever.

Agreed. Plenty of fire power to get the job done here.
