He got outmuscled numerous times.
Hmmm, maybe he got backed into, but he never gave up an opportunity due to being muscled off the ball. I think he had a solid game despite the clear nerves.

Don’t make me search for his utterly shite and worthless posts mate.

It was something about Fellaini being played as if he's Jorginho.
Here ya go...
That's not how we should be playing football, we used to have Carrick in that role and now we have a huge lump who can barely pass it five yards sideways, we basically have Fellaini in the role Jorginho is playing for Chelsea, it's ludicrous.

Atleast we won't have to see the moaning from Devil May Care for a while.
We still have people whining after winning and playing quite well. It's so weird.

It was a strong performance, much more like what you'd expect from a Mourinho side away from home traditionally. We got our goals and than defended well but still remained a threat on the counter attack and created numerous chances throughout the game.

They were poor today but either way, there have been some promising signs going forward in the last couple of matches.

You just need to show this game to ANYONE who says the boys aren't proffesionals, or don't care about playing for the shirt. Whether they like working under Mou's system or not, but they do always try their best.

I am convinced more than ever that this place has been infiltrated by a bunch of Scousers posing as United fans. No positivity at all from some posters despite absolutely dominating from start to finish. Yes we should have scored more but we still won with ease. Some of the criticism of Lukaku is baffling, he was immense today. The team are clearly still playing for Jose and some people just can't handle it.

Can't believe some of the comments putting Utd. down. Some would only be happy if we had won 10-0 and hadn't conceded a shot on target. So Burnley were poor? In the post SAF era we're more than capable of finding a way to lose against anyone, especially away at Burnley. Only 2 nil, Pogba missed a penalty and Rashford sent off? I can't believe Mourinho doesn't walk out after that.
All the hate on Big Rom too. By now, if you can't accept that he will miss more than his fair share then don't bother watching. He's what we have, for better or worse, so we might as well support him. Why not focus on the two he scored and be satisfied.
There's some evidence we're trying to play more on the front foot. Ok it failed spectacularly against Spurs but we were good today. At least we can go into the international break with some optimism.
Trolls. Put them on ignore and weed it down to United supporters or at least football fans.

Good game. Lukaku should've had four goals. Shaw once again with a good performance. Clean sheet. Not much to complain about really.

Great game. Lukaku could have been a bit more clinical, but he was great. Can Pogba change his PK approach?

Can we hope that it's not a false dawn, but that Mourinho is changing his style and giving more influence to McKenna?

Interesting.

After the Tottenham debacle, I wanted Mourinho out because it seemed like we'd regressed and he'd lost the dressing room. But if the reality behind the scenes is different, I'm more than happy for the club to keep him on.

The passing against Burnley was very good, it has to be said. Breaking through a 10 man defence is never easy, regardless of the quality of the opposition.

We were good. I won’t get too carried away though cos Burnley were garbage. The good thing from the last two games though is that the concerns after Brighton that the team wasn’t in it for Mourinho are completely gone.

Same here. I saw flashes of improvement in general play but no belief. If we keep playing like we did today while our players improve in the new attacking approach I'm all for MourINho. On another day we'd have won 7-0 with those 21 attempts*.

I imagine we can cause an upset against title challengers Watford next. If we come out of the international break unscathed, confidence will by high and Sanchez will have had another two weeks to improve his fitness. We might even see Dalot coming off the bench and Martial getting some minutes. I also think Fred can truly blossom with the added movement around him. All of a sudden it's interesting to follow United again.

*EDIT: Just counted big chances...
Lukaku - 6
Lingard - 3
Pogba - 2
Sanchez - 1

Lukaku, Matic Lindgard and one or two others are not yet 100%
The internationals will help them get there in time for Watford.
The players clearly have the togetherness. The supporters are backing the manager as they should.
The Spurs match though it do not get us the result was a step in the right direction.

Woodword wanted to bring in Ronaldo and Mourinho rightly said No.
For Woodward it would have been another marketing idea.
2 years ago I would have said Yes. But not now.

The board are not Football men and that is what is happening with the tensions.

Hopefully we will see some positives as it would seem with the influence of Carrick/McKenna.

Typical. First match I missed and we looked like we did well according to you lot on here and youtube highlights. What was up with the ref then?

Good performance, when we dominate we still need to score more. Could have won by a hat full today, that’s what cost us against Spurs. Hope the authorities review the Rashford incident. Had to be a red for his reaction, but Bardsley clearly had a second go at him after the initial ‘tackle’ and I think that’s what he reacted to. No excuse but also no place for that kind of thing in today’s game. Bardsley went OTT imo.

We all the negative comments and apparently playing football like stoke in the last 2 games we have created a lot of chances and had a lot of shots on/off target as the stats show.

Think a lot of negative talk around Jose and the style of play is narrative driven at times.

Good win today. Good tempo as like the first half against spurs.

MOTD weren’t even talking about the supposed foul on Lukaku when he went round Hart. Can’t believe a lot of you thought it was a pen. Red (or pink?) tinted goggles.

Joe Hart played a blinder to be fair. Best I've seen him in years.

Joe Hart returns to form for Burnley v Man United stopping four big chances. I think he is the best at stopping one on ones.

Just seen the Bardsley incident. He's a right cnut. It was correct for sending Rashford off, but he should've gone too - kick out and also pushed his head into Rashford.

By the looks of it the tough guy starts throwing his weight around only when his teammates are there to stop him.

What a bellend.

They also felt that Mee's arm stretching out and beating the ball away from Lukaku's path was because he fell while pulling at (fouling) Lukaku... so I guess that's ok then.

That was my first United game live (from Australia) and must say it was a fantastic experience all round! Turf Moor had a great atmosphere to it, and the United support in the away end was amazing throughout the game! I thought we played really well and controlled the game pretty well other than for a 5-10min spell straight after the red card, they didn’t really threaten.

In terms of player performances, I thought most of the team played really well and two of the biggest surprises were actually Fellaini and Jesse, who get a lot of stick... but I thought Fellaini was very solid on the ball and not just with his head and i really did get to get a sense of Jesse’s off he ball movement when watching live, a lot more so than on TV.

Only the Brighton game has been awful. The performances in the other games, today included, should be good enough for a decent finish.

Stats and my analysis and final scores do not back this up. The really bad match in my book was Spurs 0-3. Passing was good against Brighton and Burnley (Joe Hart stopped a 0-6). Brighton had the rub of the green enabling them to exploit mistakes at optimum times. I could see the Spurs defeat coming as the shape was all over the shop. Against Brighton it was only really Young and Bailly that had stinkers. i thought Brighton confirmed that Matic and Pogba in front of Smalling and Lindelof should be an automatic choice.

I commend you for your ability to stay open for several possibilities. I think this is game was a direct continuation of how we played against Spurs until we shipped two in two minutes. The evidence of fighting spirit was there to be seen in that game, unlike in the two first games. Wether we’ll continue to improve or fall back remains to be seen.

Next game we’ll be having plenty of internationals coming back from traveling and playing, and go to Watford to meet a home side with four straight wins. I’m sure as usual we’ll have The Gaffer saying they’re favourites with many rested players and 12 pts to our 6, and we’ll have a few on hear saying United should always beat ‘teams like Watford’ 10 times out of 10. I think it’ll be a tough game, a loss will be bad, a draw may be quite ok, but still our manner of play will say more about the future than the goals scored or shipped.

Away at Turf Moor can be a tricky fixture for anyone and not many teams will go and have as much dominance as we had there today.

1) Shaw looks great. I'm praying he stays fit.

2) Sanchez, Lukaku, Lingard all showing why they are getting game time and Rashford and Marital are on the bench. Great work rate and movement.

3) Fellaini played exceptionally in front of the CBs. This is why we kept him as he's the ideal man for games like this. Totally ran the midfield and frustrated Woods.

4) Rashford silly but how did Bardsley not get a red himself? Not only does he kick Rashford to the floor off the ball he then sticks his head in his face (identically to what Rashford was sent off for) and gets a yellow. One of the most bizarre bits of refereeing I've seen.

5) Jon Moss. Was awful after the above incident. Ben Mee should have been sent off for deliberately handling the ball which denied Lukaku a goal scoring opportunity 1v1 with Hart. Not only that but he failed to award a second penalty when Mee knocked Lukaku off balance as he tried to finish in an open net.

6) Mourinho. Got everything right today.

Encouraging words to hear. Watford will be more of a proper test and we'll see how we'll play.

This looks interesting. Doucure is a good player and Watford play a narrow system without out and out wingers to worry about. Watford don't have to worry about wingers either! Holebas and Janmatt have been playing well for Watford but i've never rated them.

Watford are a bit of a pressing side now. Superior passing should have them chasing shadows. In this way quality should tell if their work rate can be matched. Are Lingard and Rashford (missing) of sufficient quality?

They also felt that Mee's arm stretching out and beating the ball away from Lukaku's path was because he fell while pulling at (fouling) Lukaku... so I guess that's ok then.
At least they talked about it. That’s an arguable opinion, Lukaku’s penalty call wasn’t.

Can't say I thought the passing was good against Brighton. It's true that they exploited some big mistakes and especially 3-1 was incredible timing for them. But the way we reacted was far from positive, with a second half with very few chances.

I'd say the team showed much more spirit and determination against Spurs. And today 6-0 as you say, our most dominant performance yet.

There was a lot of nonsense from the pair of them. Conveniently ignoring that Bardsley should have been given a red card...And if you watch it live in pretty sure pushed his head back into Rashford anyway. Somehow thinking the ref had awarded a penalty when he gave a goal kick. At one point they kept calling Smalling "Lindelof"...I mean an easy mistake, apart from the difference in size, height, completely different hair, skin colour, general physical appearance, giant name and number printed on his back. Etc...

The "worst start since 1993" lie got another airing too.
Yeah, I've kept giving NBC's commentary chance after chance after a good first few impressions, but they've gone downhill. To be fair, I can say that about any commentator nowadays. If we only had more Higginbotham or Ekoku types...

Thought this was a very dominant game that we desperately needed. We showed quality all over the pitch.. Showed a good game plan with use of Fellaini and frankly could've had 5 goals.... ref really missed it at the end of the game.

Typical. First match I missed and we looked like we did well according to you lot on here and youtube highlights. What was up with the ref then?
Yeah we played well. Beyond that, it was also very entertaining. On another day, Burnley could’ve seen red on more than one occasion, the ref also turned pens away for us... he had a mare basically.

I thought it was a very dominant performance, bar the last 25 mins when thanks to a shit ref and Rashford being rash we seemed to get nervous. Could and should have been a 5 or 6 nil performance.

Jose once again was tactically spot on. You can't fault him, he's giving the players every opportunity to win games, it was individual errors that meant we didn't win by more today, and why we lost against Spurs.

Last season there was the famous Jose quote of 'Now you know why I always play Lukaku' quote following a poor Rashford performance and every one was up in arms about how he doesn't give youngsters a chance. Well today Sanchez was playing well, but Jose took him off to give Rashofrd his chance and he screwed up yet again.

The Watford game is going to be a very important game that will help shape our season. They're on form, they're at home, if we win there I think we can really kick-on.

What I meant to emphasise was that Joe Hart was brilliant at one on ones. I noticed that last season against Brighton for West Ham last season. Credit where it is due.

Spirit gets a few goals, but technique is better at beating the Spurs press. That means passing out of it. Passing fell from 85% against Brighton to 68% against Spurs.

Watford press nowadays, so this is the acid test.
